The habsburg dynasty came to power via a series of marriage alliances which would end up securing them vast amounts of territory and wealth through inheritance. They not only ended up loosing their old castle very early during their expansion, but would end up fighting the Swiss and have no real connections to the nation besides the habsburg castle.
Starting massive wars by throwing Catholics out of windows is a Bohemian tradition. Though the first time around they managed to beat back five crusades using only peasants and wagons so I'd say that one's more impressive.
