You restored him for you and brought him back from the bitz box to a level where he represents what he should be and you are happy with. No man left behind. Hoorah.👍

Here is my take. These were designed to be played with, not designed to sit in a glass case, while some fat snob-slob collects 17 copies of the same Joe so he can deprive the rest of us, and make a mint every time he sells one.
I have lot's of MSV's, the AM version of the Big Trapper, Tower, Jeeps etc. Many were sun damaged, so I customized them. If you're customizing or replacing original parts with Cotswold, all the power to you!!! You're keeping the Joe's alive.
Take it from me, I have a prosthetic right leg....it wasn't made by Cotswold, and it certainly wasn't made in Pawtucket!

Great video Jeff. What I do for talkers while trying to stretch out the bungee cord for the lower torso. I use a acid brush. I slip the bungee cord over the acid brush and take that acid brush and slip it over the pin and then just roll the bungee cord over it. It makes it really easy to do.

Model cement meant for model kits works with joes, don’t use too much as the cement works by melting the plastic together

Dude…I don’t know what to say. I am so glad you dedicated this video as you did. Believe me, those that care will never forget and we’ll make sure those that don’t care feel like sh!t every day.
Now, in my opinion the further we get away from 1964 the further away we are from doing what you do. I don’t mind replacement parts, it only shows the figure is important. Thanks again!

I think it's awesome that what you do I'm the same way I buy parts off Cotswold to get the figure back up into action I think it's wonderful the other people that have to have perfection adjust a 60-year-old figure that's it I don't know why prices have just gone totally out of whack because these people think they're worth gold and they're not.

    • @skunkworksstudios

I think it's cool when you get a gast talker. I think the original Talking Sailor ('67) talked fast. It gives them their own personality. I have an original Talking Soldier a friend gave me that has been talking slower with age. We call him Mumbles. Take the jeep and get sommmmme ammmm moeeee.

That's dumb, eventually everything gets into replacement parts and the only thing you "prove" with all original staunchness is how deep your pockets are. :\ Objectively you are lucky if parts are being made for your hobby at all, however if the replacement part sucks balls then yeah don't buy them.
Just started getting into vintage restoration a few months ago and there are way too many people dogging repairs period, we all can't afford MIB examples Ie. trapped toys lol, plus all those loose parts shouldn't go to waste. Yeesh, come one? X(
