I have watched nearly every video you have put out and this is truly one of my favorites if not my favorite. The two double ups and that unique looking cutty just WOW.
Thank you so much, Curtis! I’m glad you truly enjoyed this one. And I am thankful to have you on the team and as a friend. We all need support in this world and you have been a big part of it for me.
@@ReelHustle100 I could say the same exact right back at you brother. Much love.
Definitely a fishing spot that's worth a few return visits. Good size fish and plenty of them
Thanks Chris. Besides just the color the size and the productivity. It’s such a beautiful place. If I could, I would show more backgrounds but it would get stomped all over. Thanks for watching Brother.
Great episode! Those high mountain cutthroats are absolutely lit with crimson colors! Awesome to see!
Thank you mark. Glad you enjoyed. They truly are pretty
Incredible fish Benny. Great episode. Keep up the great work buddy.
Thank you, Martin! I do apologize for not getting with you this spring for some flyfishing knowledge. I do want to get you in some ReelHustle gear. I do appreciate you for staying down for the hustle and always keeping it reel

Opportunity met preparation!
What a video, that one fish is a fish of a life time for a cutty in the high mountains.
It’s truly my “best of west” in my opinion this far. Thanks for watching and commenting
Unreal! That new PB was 🔥. Never disappointed. Good choice on the music, reminds me of your Birthday.

Congrats bro. Awesome fish
Thank you. I’m still feeling extremely thankful for this fish. I appreciate your comment and watching. Stay fishy my friend
Heck yeah Benny! This was an awesome episode! Beautiful fish and thanks for letting us know what you used. Was this upper, middle or lower? Or a different spot? This is making me take my reel in Friday for new backing, line and leader. 🤙🏽
I’m not exactly sure on the 3 options your listing. If you have a Facebook or insta you can write me and we can chat about it. Thanks for watching. Get her lined up brother 🫡✊🐳
Nice. Well done catching that many. Were them other guys catching as many fish as you guys?
Some of them were catching on small dry flys. The issue was they were catching smaller fish. And having a lot of misses. But overall everybody caught fish for the most part
Congratulations! What food could make this beast look massive red!?!?
They have some pretty large scuds in this lake. As well as grasshoppers that jump off the bank. They turn a little extra red around the time that they spawn. That’s how they attract the females.
Hey man. Enjoy your videos. Especially since I am a colorado native. But just curious do you do any fishing at Ivanhoe? Up and down Hagerman’s pass? I hear they got some monsters in there but never been. Anyway, thanks for the videos man. Enjoy them and appreciate them! Stay safe
Thank you! I have never tried either of those places. But I would like to check them out as well. I have hiked up Hagerman Pass, but I never made it to the lake because I was just kind of out on a walk with the dog.
Awesome man! Well I will stay on your videos. Hopefully one day you make up there and see if all the tales are true!
@@Day-O1975 thank you for your support on the channel! Hopefully one day I see you out and about and can shake your hand. Fish on brother
What do you use with your 7 weight on these lakes or on spinney, floating or sinking line?
Wf7f weight forward floating
How long is that hike? I’ve thought about doing it but don’t have a 4wd to get me through all the way
It’s a decent hike. Depends on how fit you are.
How do you even find lakes that are far enough of a hike that they dont get pressured really at all but are full of absolute MONSTER fish like that, im really young so im good for a hike but i just dont have the knowledge that most other people have gained from time and experience
You pick one on the map that seems like it would be hard to get to. You make a plan. You get there early. Then you hike your ass back there and hope it holds fish!
@ReelHustle100 dude I've never even seen fish that big but I'll take ur advice I guess and maybe one day it will work out. Do u do any guiding by chance in places like this or is there any way u would ever give info out personally to spots that hold those monsters. I completely understand that most people don't for the sake of the fish there because in the wrong hands they get littered with trash and get over fished but if u have anything u would share lmk.
@@johno1356 if you ever wanna get on some big fish and we can take you out on the boat at Spinney Mountain Reservoir and put you on some monsters
Benny, any tips of general areas of where to go for good alpine lake fishing? I am local and live in southwest Denver area. Just hiked up to silver dollar and Murray with no luck 3 weeks back. Still iced over about 80 percent. I really want to get into some cutthroat even brook trout. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. How do I DM you as well if that would be better?
Hey Mike, I recommend trying to find some lakes that are in the 12,000 foot range. If you hit me up on Facebook or Instagram, I can recommend a few that have cutthroat.
@@ReelHustle100 any chance I could get your Instagram handle to follow? Heading up to an alpine lake near Break area but doubtful it will have those beasts in there. Would love to watch your Instagram videos.
Hermans!
🎣🥳
Hate to break it to ya bud but nobody is mistakin that for a salmon 🤣
Haha ya I thought that was funny too when those guys said that. I was like wait what?
What kind of cutthroat were those?
I’m not exactly sure the strain! Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoyed it.
Is this in idaho?
Colorado
@@ReelHustle100 thanks!
@@BlazeHuntingFishing no problem thank you for watching and I hope you enjoyed it! Got more coming soon
@@ReelHustle100 any good fly rods for handling steelhead bass and trout?
@nefariousflix4520 personally, I like a 7wt st croix trout mojo. That’s my go too. I like to get the one with the fighting butt as well. I prefer seven weights because I enjoy the way they cast when it gets windy. And I also like to be able to muscle a big fish when the opportunity presents itself and keep it out of the weeds. It kind of depends on the size of Fish your used to catching or targeting. If you plan on catching 2 to 4 pound fish, I would say use a 5wt. If you plan on targeting fish that are 4 to 8 pounds I would say at 7wt. If you’re looking at fish that are 10 to 15 pounds I would say in 8wt
