Omfg this was so helpful. I’m getting into doing miniatures and got easily lost in 30-45 min videos when I just needed bits from them. 10/10 Thank you so much.
If you have Zbrush 2021.7 or more you can also use the mesh project brush to create faster new geometry on your existing mesh. Basically extract feature but with a brush and much faster.
Dude, that is slick. I especially like that you showed both methods. I wasn't onboard with the second method until I saw how much kinder it would be on your pipeline. Thanks again!
Going the panel loops workflow, how do i seperate the armor mesh? As soon as i click panel loops it shows the body that was hidden and they are still same subtool.
Great tutorial, thanks! At 1:42, how do you go from the panel-loop mesh (which still contains the masked skin of the character underneath) to isolating the newly constructed mesh (without the masked skin of the character)? 'Split unmasked points' doesnt work. Thanks a lot! 🙂
Holy crap - This is the type of tutorial i've always wanted, I hate when someone just shows you how to do it and not explain what the options are, or it takes like 3 hours to get through each part. Do you have something similar for removing a part(so if the armor was part of the arm already and you wanted to separate it into a new part?
How do I delete the rest of the duplicated mesh. I made the armor plate but now I have a whole other body do deal with lol. Thanks in advance, you sir are fantastic!!!!!!
In English, if one wants to find EXTRACT, would one search EDGE LOOP? ZBrush Does not need to duplicate similar function for EXTRACT. Please make the existing commands better and get rid of ALL DUPLICATED COMMAND, make clean and simplified UI.
Just to sum up the differences, the traditional method is more simple, but the new method generally gets cleaner results - Hope that helps :)
Probably the best zbrush tutorials around. Clear, fast and on point.
"Not a problem!"
I love how for this *and* Blender you always present multiple ways of doing it and discuss the trade-offs.
Why did I just discover this channel? Thank you so much for everything.

Yes I was thinking The same thing💪
This has literally saved me hours of work getting clean edges and armour ! Thanks so much dude b 🙏🙏🙏👊👍👍🙏
The extraction looks extremely useful
Thank you! this is exactly what i need.

Thank you for these tutorials! I've been trying to get back into zbrush and these have made it less daunting
Holy shit, an actual concise and useful tutorial thats not 11 mins long with 90% of which is irrelevant filler. I must be dreaming
Thanks a lot man! This is definitely a lot of good information in such short video !
Clear, fast and on point.
Another great one :) Watching as ZB user :)
2 minutes no bullshit. Awesome! Big thanks!
Love this 👍 Always appreciate your tutorials. Easy to follow and straight to the point.

Found the answer. I had to go to 'Polygroups' then 'Auto Groups'. Thanks again for the very useful tutorials!
Many thanks. Very helpful

Once you have the polygroup you can mask it and delet it
FANTASTIC!!! i give you just 1 like, but thousand of thanks!!!!!!
no a proooblem! bro you are so helpfull!
Great stuff, thanks!!
Very interesiting. And then how do we make the polygroup into a new object with the second method?
my go to channel when stuck
This is so good
I wanna comment on the polygroup method: before Panel loop, you should delete all the rest of the polygroups to make it a stand alone armor subtool.
very useful
Safe to say that if you're extracting and then planning on dynameshing, you can just go with method 1.
Great tips ! :)
Yes
When doing the second method, how do you seperate it from the hidden model
thank u :D

👍
Also CRTL W (poly group from mask) just does not work.
Did you figure it out? I'm having the same problem
@@jorgealejandrodelagarzacam901 Sorry, I may have but I cant remember since this was so long ago.
