@@sandorhartig3957 when he did use the word, there were complaints and the BBC didn't stand up for him, so he left for ITV and did this his best series!
I loved watching and listening to this guy in the 60's ,as a kid.I could never get enough of his wry observational humour. Thank you so much for uploading these gems. He's just as funny in 2016. Gone too soon.
No matter how many times I watch this it just has this nice vibe. I wish we could have people like him today to tell us jokes. We have funny comedians, but most are bellow his level.
Absolutely Brilliant comic I can remember watching Dave Allen. Many years ago what a difference today days comics. In those Days their was no pc . Not like today
During the early to mid seventies when I was studying in U.K. in spite of heavy study schedule I would always spare time to watch Dave Allen show on telly
The finest, the one an only!! No equells,no comparsions!!! He was to comedy, what the beatles were to music!! We will never see his like again??? A genius an legend in the true sense of word!!! R.I.P Dave!! God bless!! Hope your making them laugh where ever you may be??
Just came across this , he was an absolute genius!!, his joke/ comic timing were always spot on even down to the sketches. Even though his shows were controversial , within the Catholic chuch especially. Over here in the UK we all loved him. Rip Dave Allen gone far too soon😔......
He was such a naturally witty man and what I admire most about his humour was its kindliness and gentleness, qualities that applied to him equally as a person. He was a lovely guy. His shows did have some filmed skits, but mostly it considered of just him sitting in his armchair telling stories. That was the thing, they weren't just jokes, they were narratives. He was a great raconteur and what made him so funny was his comic timing. We'll never see better because it was perfect. One particularly memorable story was the one of how he lost his index finger (he lost the top of one of his fingers and turned it into a very funny story. I'll see if I can find a link and if I do I'll post it in reply to @Solidfact42, as they didn't know Dave Allen from the 70s & 80s).
The funny thing is although Dave used quite a lot of explicit languages, he doesn't sound vulgar at all, in contrast to a lot of modern comedians. He also made fun of religion in good humor and not in a fitting rage like many contemporary comedians.
I do remember watching this episode, and, when, in the section about sperm banks, the moment Dave said "They certainly don't shake your hand", I had a large mouthful of hot coffee and a massive laugh building up behind it. It was a quick decision between choking on the coffee or spitting it out, and I'm sorry to say the coffee won. I got a coffee-soaked shirt and vest out of the situation! Good thing I was too busy laughing myself silly!
I wish I'd known about this fellow a long time ago. I've only just stumbled onto these two videos (parts one and two) by accident today and nearly fell out of my chair laughing several times. I gotta look up more by this guy.
I grew up watching this bloke. There will never ever be another Dave Allen. Dig deep and find all you can, the laughter will make you live an extra 20 years. LOL
Lol, he's talking about wanking, some may consider that 'dirty' , ( not me if that's what you're thinking) He is a funny bugger though and it's so nice to hear a comedian that can stay well away politics and just joke about everyday life.
The guy was a fuckin' master. It's all about just telling the truth and then waiting for the people to comprehend. How many years will it take to come clean about the rest of the things we have all been groomed into doing/thinking?
Laughing out loud ! I lived through this, what a load of rubbish we were taught ! Glad to be free and still the same person.........and I haven't gone to hell :)
Imagine Dave Allen and Sir Billy Connolly going head to head on stage -the RCs would be right in the sights! very much the same wonderful observational POV on lifes wee foibles.
He had a great joke about a stallion and a nun called the horses handbrake........and a skit of the John Wayne movie Chism, called John Jizm.....great man.
I love how he always ended his routine by saying “May your god be with you”. Although he was an atheist, he still respected tghose in the audience who were still believing in a god.
He didn't always conclude by saying "may your God go with you". Very rarely he said "and if you have one, may your God go with you" Not quite the same thing and very Dave Allen
To have decided to go to England at nineteen to learn English was really worse it to be able to understand humour of this wonderful man, as well as Monty Python and of course George Carlin… Thank you….
This man was so hilarious RIP dave allen sadly missed & never forgotten bless you xx
Wish there was a remastered collection of Dave Allen. He was simply the best.
Thnx RUclips for showing Dave Allen, the best comic ever😂😂😂😂😂❤️

It's not the only thing that was lost, sad but very true

This is so funny...not offensive or dirty at all. Love Dave Allen!
No-one could be offended by that, well, maybe someone could. That would be their bad luck.

Maxx Madd add bill Hicks and Sam kinison and it’d be the greatest comedy playbill ever.
Allan and Williams are on completely different levels. R. Williams is slapstick
Add Don Rickles and you would not be able to get off the floor.
It's Carlin.
