So purple LEDs are different from UV LEDs? I've been trying to find some purple, non-UV, LEDs for a project, and it seems to be impossible. Every source is either marking them as the same, or is possibly being too vague and not bothering to also mark them as UV. I really wish somebody would explain if purple LEDs are the same or not.
Purple LED is not the same as UV LED. UV LED's give off a purple light but it is not the same as just a standard purple LED light. It's probably not that easy to find just a purple LED light. You're probably gonna have to get something that can do lots of colors and pick purple as your color.

You can find them new on Ebay for around $30. Try searching for blacklight floodlight.
