Man I've been singing the praises of the Nitecore MH27UV in my videos for years, specifically for dial illuminaton on my G-Shock watches. I need to consider a smaller UV light now too. Thanks for the video!
Nitecore UV lights are UV-A. They’re the least harmful UV light. Good for detection. Fenix has a flashlight with a UV-C light. UV-C is the most harmful UV light. This one is meant to be used for sterilizing surfaces. Imo it’s usually more effective to just use the correct cleaning solution.
I think I found the first bad thing about Nitecore. Nitecore lack a proper UV- flashlight with a more wider beam or spill. Don’t get me wrong, I still think Nitecore is the best flashlight company overall. Its just that I need a powerful UV light for Amber and gem hunting so I need it to be at least 2-4 m beam distance, preferably a wider beam and lower wavelength under 450. Nitecore please make one!
i just got the normal Tiki with UV light, i know it has to be close range to see the UV mark for bank notes, but how powerful UV light needed to be to check the stain on bed sheet / toilet / anything when you use in hotel for hygine check?? 🙂
just a question, is the uv led black light strip safe in the room where I sleep because I will put it in the toys that glow in the dark safe or not, thanks for the answer
Which is harder on the eyes if looking directly into the fixture? I deal with placement challenges, leaving no options sometimes but to have at least one lamp pointed into the center of the occupied space. Also I have only use the 390nm leds in the past but I'm planning on upgrading to the 365. Just want to understand if the florescent is easier on the head, if so I can save a bunch of money
Where does the tiki UV version stack up in that lineup? Since the main light on that one is UV (as opposed as the secondary cri light on the other tiki’s), is it at least longer range than the ‘thumb Leo’? I’m asking because a have a couple of the tiki gitd blue lights (love these flashlights so much!) & am trying to decide between getting more of the same kind, or getting the newer UV one. I would love to have some decent uv lights in that form factor, but I’m just concerned that the UV one won’t be bright enough to use for normal edc use.. and that the UV it provides will only really but useable very close up anyway. Thank you for putting together these videos! They are extremely helpful!
The confusion with blue come from the black light blue lamps, or BLB. Those use to check fraudulent bills etc, or used in clubs. The black light one, or BL, is used in those devices for insects, or in tanning beds etc.
I have a P20iUV and love it so much, I having trouble deciding buying another one, or taking chance and getting the P20iX 😂 If you do get the P20iUV, I recommend getting the plastic cone you can put on it; it makes the flashlight usable as an awesome latern
I just want to buy a black lightbulb that i found on a store. It only says it's a black light bulb, but it doesn't mention UV anywhere. Would it be dangerous if i place it over my bed?
Its dangerous only if it’s UVC level. Everything else is ok. But there should be some kind of marking at least to say what rating it is? If not it’s probably generic 396nw uv bulb.
How is it possible you can see the UV diode shining? Human eye cannot see light below 400 nm. So if something emits radiation that the eye cannot detect, then we cannot see that radiation being emitted. Yes, some materials are photoluminescent, bioluminescent, but those are the exceptions.
Dear NiteCore, I am very impressed with your educational videos. Just 1 q , for a rechargeble 5,000w torch , how long should i charge ? sorry to hv to ask such simple q Thanks in advance
Why does everyone that makes these UV Lights make the Mode WHITE then UV? Everyone that Buys a UV Light is Buying it for the UV Function, not the white. Not saying a White light being built in is a bad thing but I don't want to Blind myself, then start looking for shinny stuff.
Soon, there is going to be the rapture. It's when there will be trumpet sounds, and after the trumpet sounds, God will lift his people from here. Also, God said people should be living by the Bible. Amen, and God bless you.

Completely agree. The TIKI UV and Gem10 uv are dedicated UV lights without any white led. Might want to look for those.
🤔UV wavelength wasn't supposed to be seen by human eye, i bet they must added some blueish led there.
