I have no idea how I got to this video, but I'm I did. I feel like I just went through a masterclass of flashlights and flashlight operation. This video quality is amazing, clear to understand, and very informative. I didn't need or want a flashlight, but damn, now it looks like I'm buying myself a T4k. Take my money, my subscribe, and my notification bell. WELL DONE!

Yeah, although I've never owned a Nitecore brand light, I have owned a Nitecore 4-bay charger. I've owned several Jetbeam brand lights, which used to be associated with, or a subsidiary of Nitecore. I don't know if they are still associated or not, but I've liked every Jetbeam light since the very first LED flashlight I ever bought, the Jetbeam BC-10(in 2011).

Hi, I've been watching your videos, and my *only* use case is this: I need something small enough to carry in my pocket all the time on travels, but bright enough to be effective in self-defense, to be able to blind the attacker and run. So my questions: 1- You say T4K's light is not a narrow beam but more spanned, would it still be good for defense? And generally is it a good option for self-defense? I don't need to hit the attacker with it, just blind him enough so that I can vanish.
2- Is the TUP1000 good for the same use-case? or is 1000 Lumens too low for outdoor self-defense.

    Hi MJ -
In terms of self defense/disorienting an adversary, what brightness of light is required - 500 lumens, 1000 lumens, 4000 lumens? I realize that this is a case where more may be better, but what would be the minimum effective in your opinion?
Do you sell a plug cover for the USB-C port on the T4K? Even something to keep out pocket lint would be useful.
Realizing that it will vary depending on ambient temperature, what is the expected mean cycle time for turbo mode to recover completely on the T4K?
Given that the battery is not replaceable, what is the predicted # of average recharge cycles per battery/light and expected lifespan?
Does frequent use of turbo mode shorten battery lifespan versus the other modes?
For U.S. customers is there a price savings buying from Nitecore USA vs. Singapore? What about service/warranty issues - any difference between the two sources? I expect to make a big enough purchase that shipping will be free either way.
Thanks for your excellent presentations! I learn from each one.
    ATB!
    John

That is the right way to really use this flashlight. actually you really don't need to go up to 200lm. Mine i use 20lm most of the time and use 200lm rarely and 4000lm for fast signal. btw i use IMALENT LD70. for comparison, the body is all aluminum and the button is at the bottom part which is the best position imo. its all rounded too so you hold it like any small flashlight out there. this one is a little awkward button position imo. its like you have to hold the flashlight with peace sign finger to properly use it. even if you wear it in your collar, you will still find yourself looking for the button unlike any traditional flashlight where they put it on the bottom.

Could you talk about use while charging? Does this employ battery passthrough such that the battery and the LED receive separate current? Or is the battery simultaneously charging and discharging to power the light? I've heard the latter can dramatically reduce long-term battery capacity compared to true passthrough. Do the TIKI, TIP SE, and TINI 2 employ the same method for use while charging?

Im a flashaholic. Lol. I think nitecore and imalent are the best in the biz for pushing the limits. I hv both brands. I dont hv the t4k but i hv imalent ld70. It has 4000 lumens aswell, it is slightly smaller than the t4k. And is traditional flashlight shape. It has 20 lumen, 200,900 and 2000, aswell as the turbo 4000.
I would like to get the t4k to compare. If you take photos a lot nitecore has an awesome camera light called scl10 with variable light temperature. My wife does cakes and she loves the scl10 for taking photos. Both companies have great customer service aswell.

Hey, I finally bought the Nitecore T4K and it was insanely bright and 10 seconds for me is just exceptional because I’m only living in town and unlike in forest areas that you will need a longer runtime for illumination. It is also brighter than my Nitecore TUP but the advantage of the TUP is that you can hold it for a long time until it’s too hot to handle and you can now step down to 200 lumens. Overall, these are nice products!
