    Thank you for actually showing it turned on. I went thru a bunch of "reviews" that basically looked at the light and doesn't show it turned on. Do you know if it gets hot? I wanna maybe put diffusion material over it so you don't get blind if you accidentally look at it playing volleyball, but don't want it to catch on fire

    Great video. Few questions: 1) Where can I buy heavy duty plugs to connect this to?
    2) Do you just run an extension cord outside and do you leave that cord outside all year?
    3) Is there a certain type of extension cord that I need to have?
    4) where/how did you hang your light 30 feet high? Where can I get those poles?
    5) Does this light just flood or does it actually cast down onto the ground? (i tried another light and realized that the light vas very bright but it did not have any range on the light.

    • @GrayHairedDad
      @GrayHairedDad  2 года назад +1

      You can buy heavy duty ends off of Amazon or a department store like Home Depot.
      I used a extendable ladder to get it up there.
      It puts light pretty far. So maybe spot food mixed. I have relocated the light since this video. I will do a new video soon.
      The extention cord is temporary I wouldn't recommend it. Go with direct burial cable.

    Hey I bought this light and just got it working like you demonstrated and I'm pretty pleased with it. I couldn't bring myself to crack open one yet for hacking in dimming but can't wait to try this thing out tonight when it's pitch dark. I even bought those Sopoby solder and seal connectors that I had never used before and those are pretty neat. Very easy with a heat gun, though I was able to get my heat shrinking over the wires and didn't end up using electrical tape as you did. :)

    • @GrayHairedDad

      That is awesome. Yeah they work really well. The light is super bright. My tree that I had the light on got blown over by a bad storm so I had to move the light to a pole. With the pole I put in its about 30ft off the ground and covers a ton of area in light.

      @@GrayHairedDad Hrm, well the price is right, I may have to take a harder look. Those LEDs certainly aren't running off 120-240VAC, so there has to be a circuit inside that is rectifying that. LEDs can be driven with pulse-width modulation that adjusts the brightness without inducing flicker, as perceived by the human eye, but I wonder if it's just driving the LEDs to their limits. In other words, this thing might be hackable to make it dimmable.

    Lol dude 🤣 why would you install it towards your house. You should have mounted it center on top of your house and you wouldn't blind yourself and would have got better coverage smh.

      Because I own 20 Acres and have it pointed at the open field and at the location of were the pool is going in. I really appreciate your opinion on what I do with my property though. Do you have any other smart ideas you can share with me?
