This was one of the all-time greatest moments in sports history! Calling out Hernandez in that way was SOOOO BEAUTIFUL! In most situations, Hernandez is a bully. He's one of those umpires that looks for trouble. On many occasions, where other umps would walk away or ignore a situation, Hernandez will instigate arguments with players/managers and it usually results in an ejection. He thinks it's all about him. Before instant replay was fully implemented in 2014, this guy was changing the outcomes of games! It was so bad in one particular game that I was actually convinced he was betting on games! His calls were THAT bad! The thing that makes this McMichael video so great is he calls him out in front of 40,000 people as well as millions of other watching on TV. The best part is there's isn't a damn thing Hernandez can do about it! Everyone knows that MLB umpires hate to get shown up so doing it in this fashion was absolutely BRILLIANT!

Hey Angel, how do you feel now that Steve McMichael will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame?
Imagine having as big of a Napoleon Compex as that to toss Mongo out for having a little bit of fun during the 7th inning stretch. Hernandez should make it up to Mongo and publicly wish him during his fight or go visit him because if not, he’ll always be remembered for this (among other brutal baseball moments).

This was an incredible game. Beyond the Mongo incident (Hernandez had him kicked out of the stadium), the Cubs won on a crazy play in the bottom of the 9th.
How does Hernandez even have the power to do that? I understand a fan that's unruly or whatever but calling him out for terrible calls, that's just part of the game.

AH says he did nothing of the sort, but the crew chief called security. Whether they did anything or not, nobody can confirm. Look for the Chicago Tribune story about it.
He wasn't kicked out of the stadium. Umpires don't have any ability to do that. They can certainly request that somebody be removed, but the team is under no obligation to grant the request.

Man im pretty young and it just hit me how long this guy has been the worst umpire in the mlb for. When he finslly retires, good riddance, he will leave an everlasting legacy of being a terrible umpire with a highlight reel of blown calls which will probably mount several hours. Truly moving stuff.

OMG i was at this game. It's edited to make the ump look bad, in reality the ump immediately kicked McMichael out of the stadium as soon as he said that. He was looking up there to make sure security was escorting McMichael out.
