Steve McMichael and the rest of The Monsters of The Midway will always be my Favorite Bears Team. Collectively they embodied all of the strength, determination, fire, grit and fight that only Champions possess. Congratulations Steve on finally being inducted into the PFBHOF.
I met Mongo and several other Bears players in late 1985 while they were practicing for the Superbowl at the University of Illinois. Mongo was quite a character. Yes loud and brash, but clearly intelligent
The NFL should be ashamed of themselves as a packer fan mongo was one if not the most feared player the Bears had he Deserves hell he earned his spot in Canton.
One of the cornerstones of that Championship 1985 Defense , Steve McMichael defensive tackle that hammered the Offensive lines all those years. Chicago can NEVER express its gratitude of your playing career here ! TY Mongo for your sacrifice & Ryan should have called you by your name. Your not a number in Chicago ever ! Hard to even say what you & the 1985 Chicago Bears achieved despite the Halas ownership & mis - management !
@@duewhit310 191 straight games McMichael played in ! Quite the iron man on the D Line. Agree with you on the sacks coming from a D Lineman is a rare thing. Bears 1985 defense was stacked along with FS Fencik / SS Duerson / CB Frasier. Front 7 has to be the greatest put on a football field at one time.
The 85 Bears. The greatest football team in nfl history. There will never be another team that great, and with that many great personalities. They were entertaining on and off the field. They were fascinating. And Steve Mcmichael was a perfect fit on that team. With great skills, fierce determination, and an amazing personality. Chicago loves you always Mongo.
You could see how my man Steve right there is starting to show the effects of the disease I met him back in 85 and 86 he was very nice to me the Bears brought me so much joy God bless him pray for him pray that he's a Christian
Steve...you remain one of my all-time favorite players...a Bear fan since '71, can't think of another Bear DL better than you. One of the greatest. So many memories.....NFL HALL of FAME #76
legendary. used to do radio interviews day after game. fun to hear while driving to work the day after game. just seemed like he was having fun poking fun at everyone in a nice way. players didn't used to talk to media in Chicago except in very formal interviews on cbs,nbc or abc with a little local mostly newspaper until around that 84 85 and after.
Steve McMichael has been in a lot of Hall of Fame’s and football Hall of Fame’s but there is one Hall of Fame that he needs to be in before his time comes. I’m talking about the WWE Hall of Fame. He was also a wrestler as well.
Treasure the time you have. This was 5 years ago, and now ravaged by ALS. 10 days ago, I was carefree. Now I have stage 3 multiple myeloma. I wont be here next year.
My Patriots have a history of letting great players go. Leon Gray,Russ Francis,Tim Fox,Mike Haynes,Doug Flutie,Marv Cook,CURTIS MARTIN,Irving Fryar(he was crazy though),Ty Law,Sam Gash,Richard Seymour, Deion Branch,Ty Warren, Ben Watson,Malcolm Butler, Stephon Gilmore,KYLE VAN NOY(that was really stupid),Malcolm Brown,Chandler Jones,Steve McMichael etc.. And Danny Amendola,Vince Wilfork, and Mike Vrabel should've ended their careers in New England considering all they did for the Pats in the playoffs!!!
I wish the wcw would've trained Him better. He had the size & a good look to Him. I Appreciate His Enthusiasm for the 4Horsemen. I hope He will Progress and get Better. 👍🏾

How the hell is this guy not in the HOF. It's disgusting. I really hope someone informs him that he'll at least be put in, before we lose him. He honestly deserved it more than any other player on that 85 defense.
With all due respect to Mongo, he does not deserve to be inducted into Canton ahead of Dan Hampton, Mike Singletary or Richard Dent, but he does deserve to be in there...and he will be in there next year, hopefully.
@@rolandmiller5456 you’re a tool. You don’t know greatness because you are at best mediocre in everything you do in life. Both players are not great players hence no HOF. Now F off sport.
I’m not sure how you draw that conclusion. He is 5th all-time in recorded tackles, has 95 sacks (more than several other HoF def linemen like Mean Joe and Cortez Kennedy), he has double digit forced fumbles and more fumble recoveries than some HoF’ers, and is 5th all-time in career safeties. Plus he has one of the best sack totals in the post season. He may never get in, but the certitude in your comment is misplaced.

Steve McMichael really cracks me up. He's such a colorful character. I'm so devastated that he's sick with ALC.

How many DTs had a stretch of years of at least 8 QB sacks each year. I suspect very very few. Steve was one of em.

It happened. Legend
This aged well. Not many 2 time pro bowl athletes get nominated so he’s lucky
I remember him as a wrestler for WCW
I actually saw him wrestle in person in Texas when he was in the WCW!
I was there near ringside on Monday Nitro in Philly when Reggie White confronted him in the ring after Steve was trolling Philly fans
He might not of been born in Chicago but he is and will always be one of us
Great player. Great Bear. Football legend. Hall of Famer.

Remarkable for a DT to lead such a bigtime program in all time tackles.
