  • This should be standard equipment... but it isn't. In this video I fit a high level brake light to my BMW top box. The same part is used on the top case for the R1200RT, R1250RT and the K1600GT / K1600GTL. It's pretty easy to fit, as I demonstrate with my woeful spanner skills!

I'm almost manual disabled but thanks to you I did it :-) Thank you! Only these clips are just not perfect, at least mine. The lamp is not held firmly and steadily. But hopefully it is enough. Many thanks!

I have an extra brake light like that on the way. Thanks for giving me the idea to order one. Now I noticed you put screws in the clips. Are those included? And if not, what screws are they?

Everything is included with the part, or at least it was with mine. 👍🏻

Great Vid! Do you have a link for the purchase? I think it’s an absolute must.

      Thank you 😊
The part number is in the description, but let me paste it here: 77-51-8-520-044
If you search Google or eBay, you’ll find stockists. I bought mine from a seller on eBay who doesn’t appear to be offering the part at present, so that won’t be of much use to you!

My bike the light bar is a tail light & brake light. Wondering if that is a USA thing or non-BMW

Could be a USA spec - I've not seen one over here working as a tail light. I actually think I would prefer that.

Grossly overpriced. $10 LED strip installed & works great.
