Okay. I live in Flagstaff, and here is a list for your next episode. 1. Walnut Canyon - cliff dwellings inhabited in the years following Wupatki 2. Sunset Crater Volcano - the most recent active volcano in the Southwest from 950 years ago 3. Meteor Crater - a meteor impact left a large crater from 50,000 years ago 4. Sycamore Canyon - a wilderness that was once called the Little Grand Canyon 5. Humphrey's Peak - climb to 12,600 feet elevation (don't try this in winter) 6. Museum of Northern Arizona - paintings by the early pioneer artist Mary-Russell Ferrell Colton and much more 7. Roger's Lake - a dry lake that comes alive with Spring peepers every April 8. Cameron Trading Post - over 8,000 square feet featuring Native American handmade jewelry, basketry, rugs, kachinas and pottery 9. Anderson Mesa - explore the Arizona Trail past numerous lakes. Includes the largest natural lake in Arizona, Lake Ashurst 10. Buffalo Park - a city park with spectacular views of the San Francisco Peaks and a wide range of hiking trails
Does it snow a lot in the winter months? Is there snow now? I was planning to come through later in January and have wondered about the snow situation.
Wait so most of the things to do in Flagstaff is really not in Flagstaff? I am confused. And other things are really not unique to that area other than the telescope. Makes me want to visit.
