Reina/Elle has one of the coolest sounding singing voices ever. It’s so silky smooth. I’ve been listening and watching for years after discovering Josh Turner and friends, including Toni and Carson. It’s a deep treasure trove of talented musicians. Love them all! 😃

Hey Reina, I am a good bit older than you and have suffered from anxiety and depression for a good number of years. I find that playing my violin is more effective at getting me out of that horrible place than any of the medication that I am prescribed here in the UK. Music is such a potent drug. Anyway I am learning to play guitar and I find your videos so inspiring. Thank you xx
I'm a bit older than her too and I have learnt to manage my historical anxiety in the most effective yet costly way possible. I've trained myself to treat every scenario that would trigger my anxiety as if it were inconsequential and to have a "doesn't matter, I've got bigger fish to fry" attitude at all times in all situations. The downside should be fairly obvious: people will notice and will more often than not be offended by my lack of emotion. While I do play both guitar and violin, I've never done it on stage to see if that gets me through, although I'd expect to experience some degree of performance anxiety in a scenario that I would be unable to manage as it's unexplored.
I've a couple of mates that have done the opposite and given up gigs over the anxiety stuff. Drunk, obnoxious hecklers just wore them down. They're seriously awesome professional musicians as well. Teaching and jamming for themselves now. Good on you for finding your way. Rock on
Thank you for sharing about your anxiety - it helps make me feel less alone to know that an artist I admire also has difficult times, and I guess it took some courage to share that 🌼
I'm writing this 7 years after this video was posted, so you've probably forgotten about it by now! I'm a musician that happened upon your band playing "The Weight" and some other songs, and I thought they were very well arranged and performed. Thank you for the sharing. People are often very curious about the performers they follow.
I love chess and Chinese buffets . . . but those may be the ONLY things we have in common. Btw, that cover of "Stuck in the middle with You" is my absolute favorite thing to listen to. Man, when that bass player kicks in at the beginning, the whole thing becomes magical. I'll sometimes just put it on a loop while I'm doing something else. As many times as I've listened to it, the song never gets old.

I think you forgot to add at least one thing. But you don't have to worry, I'm sure we already know that, and this is that, you are a person as simple as you are wonderful and you have managed to make the world a little bit more beautiful, for all of us. Thank you Reina del Cid!
Your honesty about anxiety is how we all should be. It is the best way to overcome it :) never be ashamed having an attack and let people see it and the anxiety will get weaker :) not easy but it can be done. Love the honesty :)
Almost 6 years later....made me chuckle and love it when the anxiety goes away. I look forward to seeing and hearing you and your friends play in person. It also drives my anxiety away. Hugz to you all. Music.....mmmmmmm
I'm 70 and have been a fan for several years of you and all those you video with. Listening to the Sunday morning songs and songs of your friends is always a relaxing time. I play slow blues myself and would love to hear your renditions of some of the classics. I also want to share this with you and anyone else who has to deal with anxiety. A friend asked me to consider Ashwagandha. Did my research and finally found something that really works and is a natural herb. I'm no longer in the dread, fight or flight mode. Best wishes and God Bless!
I am in my 70s and also suffer anxiety. Like you, I find practising my craft helps me relax. As soon as I sit down with my instrument, my paints, my word processor or whatever, I can f oirget all the stupid stuff which goes around my head. Stick with it, Sweetie. You are an inspiration to me and many others of all ages. I look forward to Sunday evenings (I am in Australia) and your show each week.
It's refreshing to know young kids reviving music from my generation. I am going 63 now I think this is really cool. Much love from the Philippines - "keep on truckin"
I’m always late to everything but so glad I came across her TikTok’s. Then I found out she was a musician and now I’m just hooked. So witty, smart, seems sweet as can be.
It takes alot to open up and tell people things about yourself. Thank you for that, We think you are awesome! Along with Toni and your other band members.
I battle anxiety but never when I’m on stage in front of people. Like u said ur not alone. Ur focus changes. I really enjoy ur music and wish u the best
That's an awesome video Reina, found you on RUclips, I love your voices and you and the rest of the gang seem to have so much fun. I wish more artists would talk to their fans and show them who you are. I'm very impressed with you as an artist and as a person. Good luck 👍
Hi Elle , Love your music!! My be easier said than done but I’ve told members of my family and friends who get stressed “ It doesn’t accomplish ANYTHING to worry ! Things will ALWAYS work out , sometimes not Exactly like you want , but They will work out and life goes on “. If you look back at things you stressed out about, you will realize it! There are sometimes bumps in the road , but they’re just bumps not roadblocks! It doesn’t HELP to worry and doesn’t solve anything. If there are things you can do ( and I don’t mean drugs or becoming a drunk, which may seem to work at the moment , but not in the long run) to make for a better outcome, fine , if not , it’s not the end of the world! Take it easy kid , you have accomplished a lot and have a great life in front of you! I see how your music makes you happy and it puts a smile on my face! ENJOY LIFE ! TAKE CARE!
This is not an ad... I had MASSIVE anxiety when doing things, speaking in front of people, etc.. I finally learned that anxiety is caused from acid going up your esophagus and damaging the nerves inside. I was told to try taking antacids before my next trigger and see if it helps... Well, I dont have anxiety anymore, and the sad part is that I've spoken to many drs about this and they all laugh and tell me I'm imagining it... All I know is the person who told me this had the same issue and someone told him, I also recommend this to my mother as she gets it in her sleep, she said how well it works, but then stopped trying. I am now onto a mostly food managed diet and have completely wiped out my anxiety.
Thank you for sharing Reina. The anxiety part was particularly special. I am 70 (yes seventy) and have had issues with this since I was 12. Yet I did some of the most dangerous work (Flying on Helicopters off Destroyers and a full 25 year career in the RCAF). Yet, like you, when I was working, the anxiety went away. I have a fear of heights (Yup). Yet I could be hoisted down on a cable to a ship below and that didn't bother me. Don't ask me to go on my roof though !!! So, the bad news is that it probably will always be there. The good news is that you are a very talented young lady, and you have an escape. I am a super fan and probably one of many thousands. And yes, I will buy your album. I feel that I know you now and that makes it special!
OK, I've suffered from severe anxiety for decades, and finally learned it's really all in our heads. So, what I did, was calmed myself through breathing deeply for one minute. Then I told myself that if I can control myself for a minute I can certainly calm myself for two minutes. If you believe it, it is true. then five minutes, 20 minutes, and so on. In a very short time, you KNOW that you are really in control. I have medication, but I never use it. It's just there as a backup. Hope this helps you as much as it helped me. Thanks for sharing and looove your singing/music btw.
I've literally watched you for so long years ago. And I'm glad to see your making something with life. It would be amazing to meet someone like you someday. One love and keep it up. Love you voice...
I am an old dude that has been playing music for a LONG time, but wanted to mention that I enjoy your music and your style, especially when you are with Toni or Josh, good work. Thanks
Some of the best I've heard.im 75 and sing with a local band.we do a lot of old tunes .ppl really like them.we do Good night irene red river valley as well as some mills bros and some country tunes .your group is fantastic ,keep it up love y,all
I just found out about you and your music 2 days ago and I love the songs you play, your guitar and Toni. You guys are most awesome. Keep up the great work. Nothing like music. It makes you smile even if you are having the worst day. I have tried the guitar and struggle with it. I also am learning accordion.
hey I'm 60 & a freelance artist & also a musician. I have had anxiety for a few decades ... it's manageable, you just need to learn about it & develop tools to help re-regulate your nervous system in those moments (yes MUSIC is perfect for this) ... good on you for not letting it stop you perform or tour! Love your vids, btw.
About running. You can get a lot out of 3 simple rules. 1. Only run as fast as lets you carry a conversation. If you stick to running you will lose weight and get faster but you will still be able to carry on a conversation. That's the way to make it so you'll look forward to your daily run. Don't run faster unless you want to start racing and want personal records. 2. Try to run the whole distance without walking. If you must walk then walk, but try more and more to run the whole way. 3. When your shoes start to wear buy another pair when the ones you have are about halfway shot. That way you'll always have a comfortable pair that you're used to. .....Love your music. Watch often on RUclips and love your collabs with Josh Turner. Good luck. And don't worry about the Chinese food. You can eat it until you're old.
@@QuantumMechanic_88 Toni comes across as the shy type, but anyone who's heard her playing knows she's hard working and gifted. She gets as much credit in my book as Rachelle does. Together they're an awesome duo.
I find it a joy to listen to the group. Toni is loving the songs . I watch the when she is playing Harvest Moon in Oregon by the river. You can just see her great smile every now and then. Beautiful people all of you. Does not matter who is playing or what they are playing. God love you all.
I share your anxiety issue. I am disabled retired og. I just started guitar and enjoying my small wins. You're fantastic at your calling, I am super glad I found your channel.
I am a 50 year old singer songwriter who has struggles with anxiety issues for a long time....I am quite good in a song circle setting....but as the crowds increase so does my anxiety....really sucks.....if this wasn't a problem, I would be doing a lot more shows than I do....I feel your pain Reina...
Ms. Reina del Cid, it is your gift to play and sing and that is our gift, to hear your message. And in regard to your anxiety, well, everyone feels it past HS because of the life’s uncertainty and responsibility. Don’t worry, it empowers you.
I also suffer badly with anxiety, and I also find that playing music helps me... Unfortunately I’m not much good! But good enough for my own entertainment. Keep on doing what you’re doing - you’re great :)
I know this is a seven year old video, but I just wanted to thank you for sharing about your anxiety. I deal with that too and it really helps to know that someone as amazing and talented as yourself has some of the same struggles. And thanks for all the amazing music!
We missed you in Denver this past June. I love your music. I would love to know more about your group. Your interactions seem to be really intimate. You guys are down right lovable.
Oh my God. Forget the anxiety. You are a beautiful person and SO talented. Embrace it and know there are so many people like me that have gotten such joy from you. I finish a shift at my restaurant and listen to one of your songs and it allows me to look forward to tomorrow. Someday I hope to have you play at my place! Be well.
I remember seeing her first video. RUclips was young, and it was a nice song titled "Come Over" or something like that. Then I did not see her channel again for at least five years. Now I watch all her stuff.
I don't think I could get in front of a camera and tell anything about myself. You're one strong, very talented person. Just be you. That's good enough for anyone.
Love your music!! And on a second note, Toni is a fantastic guitar player! She can bend really bend those strings! Where did she learn to play like that? Anyway...love your music, keep it up. Jambalaya on the railroad tracks is my favorite.
I realize im late on the comment - 7 years according to the time stamp - but , anyways ... *11 things you dont know ... ' - Honorable Mention ... : You cover Your Speech Impediment Very Well . The minute trace of it gives You a distinct & very pleasant (Honestly) 'Accent' .
You know, I found you a month or so ago, and you have become one of my favorite vocalists ever. Your awesome. Yeah this video is old, but it's new to me lol.
I feel your anxiety pain. I try to keep my mind occupied ALL the time. Playing Music, watching videos, and archery and shooting sports really help me. I think the shooting sports works so well because you have to stay soooo focused to be safe and accurate.
The world is your oyster, just been listening to you guys the last couple of days,, time well spent, I feel like a miner that just found gold, just keep on enjoying what your doing because I and many more definitely will,,,
I enjoyed this sneak peek into your life very much. I so want to hear you live on stage, and I’m so sorry that I was not able to see you due to illness when you were last in Ottawa Ontario. Love your music!
Ive been subscribed to you for as long as i can remember . You are pretty , talented and a driven individual . I wish you all the success in the world. From a fellow dreamer !
My 1st memory of YOU was the Harvest Moon (Neil Young cover) video. I was captured by the talent of that ensemble & background. I know you are a word smith, but your soft delivery is special and appreciated. You are a BRAVE young lady to put yourself on stage for all to view as you grow over time. Now in my 80's, I am very Blessed for RUclips that affords me this joy. Thank you! PS, consider a cover of the late Kate Wolf who had a similar magic with her delivery.
Well, the running should help with the Chinese Buffet. :-) Well up to now pretty much the only thing I knew about you was I liked your music. So clearly you know how to make music, and you do it well. Now I know 11 more things, which brings the total to approximately 12. You know I'm always nervous before playing in public until it's time to sing, and as soon as I open my mouth, I'm fine. Which I think is weird. I think it's because at that point everyone expects me to sing and figure I'd look dumber if I just stood there dumbstruck. I'm not a natural ham or show off in any way, so I always think people will think "who do you think you are?!" if I start singing. But oddly, they don't. You almost have to push me into doing it, but once I'm doing it, I really enjoy it and people don't seem to mind. Well maybe they're just being polite. See? I can't get away from it.
Hi Reina I just wanted to say to you love your choice of songs, I think you are very talented and have been a inspiration to anyone with anxiety. I just discovered you here on you tube and have subscribed to listen and enjoy your videos. I like the new generation singing the stuff we listen to many years ago. My mom loves your style and at 88 yrs old she cant get enough of your singing. Reina keep the music coming . Love ya lots
Just saw this. Your other videos drew me in. It only took 9 years to be an overnight success. :) You have talent and even an old man like me is tickled by it. So keep being you and being awesome. The world needs fantastic, talented, intelligent people like you. I have laughed and cheered through more than one of your videos. Grok out. Live long and prosper. May the force (and tunes) be with you.
Here's something else about you: You have a nice strumming hand as a guitar player. And your playing in general is good and is a nice complement to Toni's remarkable playing. Reminds me of a clip of Les Paul and Mary Ford: He does some of his amazing finger prestidigitations and then she copies him perfectly. In other words, she does everything he does on the guitar. Now overall he was a better guitar player, but she was a better player than most people realized, not to mention that she sang up a storm while playing rhythm, making it possible for her husband to do what he loved to do--goof around beautifully on the guitar!
I played drums in loud rock bands for about 30 years to the point of damaging my hearing, moreso in the left ear. A lot of shows, a couple a week sometimes. Bars or small clubs mostly around my hometown DC, Atlanta, and Athens GA. You would never guess how I'm an introvert with paralyzing stage fright. During that interval between sound check and show, those hours and hours, I would pace like a panther in a zoo cage and chain smoke and try not to consume mass quantities of beer. Then we'd hit the first note in front of people and all the anxiety melted away. Also love to play chess.
I was always introverted growing up. I started playing bass, then guitar and was in a couple of bands. By 18, I was playing bass and singing lead in a pretty tight band. There's something about playing and WANTING to be out front that makes it easier. Still nervous, but a good kind of nervous. Lately I just manage to piss off my neighbors playing with myself on guitars. I haven't played my bass in months.
I hope you're still running. Perhaps you've done half-marathons now. Running also helps with anxiety. I can truly say that running changed my life. I drank and smoked till my forties when I started running. Now in my seventies and still doing half-marathons. I also write songs and play guitar but always had a problem with stage fright which I tried to kill with alcohol but it doesn't work. I'm really glad you have the strength of character to push through the fear and get up on stage. Your videos are a wonderful gift and I hope to see you in London next Novemeber. All best.
Hello Reina del Cid! Apologies for not responding sooner. Your message was hidden as spam. We were delighted to read how Fred has not only warmed your heart but also changed your perception of raccoons which was very touching; thank you! He sends his raccoon greetings to you and wishes you much success with your music career!
Guitars are therepy for the soul. Started playing a year and a half ago after a friend of mine. 2 to 3 hours a day since. It really helps take my mind off things. I love your Guild btw. I have 4 guitars now. My Guild is my favorite.
Re: Anxiety - Don't know if this will help, but I started having panic attacks about 15 years ago. It ALWAYS has happened within the first hour of going to sleep. My Cardiologist has found, not a cure, but a control factor; He prescribed Metoprolol, 50mg tabs, twice daily. . . . Really do love your music! Such a beautiful voice! . . . Broadcasted by beautiful ladies . . . You & Toni!
Hi Hugo, I suffer from anxiety when I go to sleep but I found that if I sleep for the first hour in a reclining chair (set my cell phone) then I can easily sleep in bed later. It was the lying down flat that made my head spin and I worry about things that 99.99% will never happen. Hope this helps.
Thank you. I'm a handyman. I struggle with perfectionism all the time. My mom always said : "you're the tinker that gives a damn" Be who you are called to be.
Thank you!!! Thank you for being honest! I have sooo enjoyed watching you guys play and sing!! Truly you make me smile !!! I do play guitar and write some music(which I may never play for another human, but you give me courage) you really are amazing and I thank you again for being so forth coming. Never stop!!!!!
Thanks, Reina! Good job on running! I used to run, injured my hip, gained 150 pounds... Lost 75 #s in 90 days, starting in May. Had Birmingham Hip resurfacing surgery in August. No running, jumping or lifting more than 50 pounds until next August... Then, look out! Keep up the running and remember to breath! It gets better and easier...
I'm a new (old) fan....., just reading Rod Stewart's autobiography and he suffered severe stage fright in the early days....., great YT video of him doing You Wear It Well (1972 on tv show and he has written the words on a piece of paper..). I will be watching and listening....be well Reina!!
Love “wow you ladies are playing chess in a bar!” 😂 peeing myself. Describes the disconnect with men in most situations. We must be just hanging around waiting for you to come up to us 😂
Lori Lieberman wrote that song Killing Me Softly after she saw Don McLean play in 1971. Apparently, she had some kind of panic attack while he was singing Empty Chairs, it resonated so deeply with her. Anyway, that's what I thought of when you mentioned your anxiety and I thought that might be a good song for you to cover.
It's so weird that I have a distinct memory of watching TV and seeing someone explain that Kenny Rankin was the person that inspired them to write Killing Me Softly. This is in the early 70s that I saw this. Fast forward to 2020 and I find out my life has been a lie. LOL. In fact over the years I have thought about that story many times. I can picture the video of Kenny Rankin as the speaker is talking, about how it was so inspiring to her. It's so weird. Because if you look it up in Google it's definitely Don McLean that inspired Killing Me Softly. Thanks for posting because now I know!
Reina buy a jump rope, the core is constantly engaged in one of the best aerobic athletic workouts around This guitarist is living proof of its benefits :)
Very good-I m just an old boomer who grew up in the early rock n roll days. I saw groups like the Beatles, Peter, Paul and Mary and Simon and Garfunkel, Plus many more bands of the day. Wish you would perform in the High Desert of S Cal-I think you would do well here--Enjoy your singing-such a lovely and casual voice--Blessings

Perfectly True!!
Yes so much

I've literally watched you for so long years ago. And I'm glad to see your making something with life. It would be amazing to meet someone like you someday. One love and keep it up. Love you voice...
👍
I am an old dude that has been playing music for a LONG time, but wanted to mention that I enjoy your music and your style, especially when you are with Toni or Josh, good work. Thanks

You are the coolest woman I've seen playing guitar and singing. I love your music
Talented, cute, humble, charismatic, sweet enough I may have contracted diabetes watching her videos, and brilliant. Not a bad way to start, Reina!
How about 11 things obout Toni? I think she is LIL bit mysterious.
Toni is super talented and gets no credit .
@@QuantumMechanic_88 Toni comes across as the shy type, but anyone who's heard her playing knows she's hard working and gifted. She gets as much credit in my book as Rachelle does. Together they're an awesome duo.
What are you trying to do ? Break up the band ?
I find it a joy to listen to the group. Toni is loving the songs . I watch the when she is playing Harvest Moon in Oregon by the river. You can just see her great smile every now and then. Beautiful people all of you. Does not matter who is playing or what they are playing. God love you all.
I agree. Engaging type though
I wish more performers would give some background like you did here! It gives more depth to enjoy your work!
7 years hence, I hope you are doing better with the anxiety. You give so much joy, I hope some bounces back to you.
Be well.
Thank you for sharing yourself, your not alone most artist have something going on. Keep up the great work and blessings.
I remember seeing her first video. RUclips was young, and it was a nice song titled "Come Over" or something like that. Then I did not see her channel again for at least five years. Now I watch all her stuff.
Recently began listening to your music. I love it. Love you and Toni's harmonies. Thank you for sharing your more personal side!
All 11 make you that much more awesome Elle! Keep being rad!
I'm 77 Bipolar played guitar, drums, keyboard. Love everything about you. All of you are quite talented
Bipolar is when you play guitar AND keyboard ?
Yes
Love your sense of humour and your honesty. You seem really genuine :)
Wished you had no anxieties, obviously. However, your music so often takes away mine! Guess I'm not the only one! Thanks for your great music!
You know, I found you a month or so ago, and you have become one of my favorite vocalists ever. Your awesome. Yeah this video is old, but it's new to me lol.
* you're
I feel your anxiety pain. I try to keep my mind occupied ALL the time. Playing Music, watching videos, and archery and shooting sports really help me. I think the shooting sports works so well because you have to stay soooo focused to be safe and accurate.
love watching you girls singing some songs from yester-years. it's really nice to see people having fun. brings smiles to my face.
The world is your oyster, just been listening to you guys the last couple of days,, time well spent, I feel like a miner that just found gold, just keep on enjoying what your doing because I and many more definitely will,,,
Thanks for some facts about you, Reina! I really do enjoy listening to you play & sing also....You have a great rest of the summer!!!
Well up to now pretty much the only thing I knew about you was I liked your music.
Love ya lots
greeting from ireland , i love your music well done to you both.wishing you every success ,take good care john
You are so relatable and unique, keep shining!
How did this get to be about you ?
@@raygunn1083 It just turned out that way, what can I say?
Oh, me too, girl! I'm a writer and have been dealing with anxiety since I've been in my twenties. Still trying to work it out forty years later.
Thank you for the anxiety comment, I needed that today.
Anxiety does suck! My whole life too. Guitar and singing helps more than anything. You are a fantastic musician and I enjoy your posts. Stay cool.
All those things make you a very beautiful and talented person keep up the good work and be safe watching from Georgia
I thought Fred was her boyfriend! Ooops!
You are so humble. I would like to hear you sing covers of hit Christian songs. You and your band are blessed/gifted.
Recently discovered your channel.
You & Toni make a beautiful couple.
¡Éxito, Reina! ;)
thanks for sharing!!!! I just wanted to say what an excellent musician you are and an inspiration 😊😊😊😊😊
It was a great moment when I discovered you all on RUclips..you need a savvy promoter...
I go straight to music and my guitar when the anxiety sets in also. Really love how thought provoking you are.
I can’t believe I’m just seeing this 😂❤️
Guitars are therepy for the soul. Started playing a year and a half ago after a friend of mine. 2 to 3 hours a day since. It really helps take my mind off things. I love your Guild btw. I have 4 guitars now. My Guild is my favorite.
nature and GOD
ONE IN THE SAME
yea guitar music is serious stuff
Reina is unique!
My mom always said : "you're the tinker that gives a damn"
Be who you are called to be.
Your awesome and hilarious. Keep doing your thing. It works.
Cheers to ya
Thanks, Reina! Good job on running! I used to run, injured my hip, gained 150 pounds... Lost 75 #s in 90 days, starting in May. Had Birmingham Hip resurfacing surgery in August. No running, jumping or lifting more than 50 pounds until next August... Then, look out! Keep up the running and remember to breath! It gets better and easier...
Shes correct about Racoons. I almost skipped the rest to watch the racoon vids
When I was a very young man, I played chess in a bar. With the sound man for a jazz trio.... IT was Great!
So refreshing hearing old song's that I love. And all of your new song's, well done.
