I know it’s been a while. Lots going on, but I already have about a half dozen new videos ready to go so there will be a consistent flow again 🙌 Thanks for sticking around 👍🏻
Good video.....Bottle jacks are wonderful. But if you're thinking of getting rid of your high lift jack, I'd think that one thru. Started off-roading back in the 70's, and there are many situations a hi lift will get you out of when a bottle jack will be useless in. As in lifting the front or back of a vehicle high enough to get the wheels above a rut and pushing it sideways, off of the jack and out of the rut. ...It can also as a push-pull device with some chain. Just sayin'
Safe Jack's are Omega jacks which are very reliable. The jack boss is a torin jack, which have failed on me in the past. I just picked up a 2nd 6 ton omega bottle jack for 50 something bucks. Pay the extra money for the omega, the torin might leave you stranded. Also I would store that bottle jack vertical. Great video though. I did exactly what you did with buying just what you need. No more HL on my rig!
Yes you are correct! I actually wanted the Omega Jack when I purchased the other, but they were out of stock or priced wayyyy high. If and when the Jack boss fails. I’ll for sure try to get an omega again 👍🏻 Yeah their whole kit is cool but you definitely overpay for stuff you don’t need
So an updated price is $140 for your current set up, $165 for the omega with the same safe jack pieces you have. You got an awesome deal on your set up!
The only trouble I have encountered with a bottle jack is that they are prone to leakage if stored horizontally. I have the Big Red and asked the company about it and they said it is not recommended to store them horizontally because they likely wil leak... So mine leaked and so now I am storing it vertically. But, the bottle jack is definitely the better tool than the stupid scissor jack!!
Yess I have been checking it frequently to see if it leaks, but so far so good! If it does start to leak I imagine I’ll find a bag or something to put it in. Hands down superior to the crappy scissor Jack
Yeah I am totally with you 100% on that, except during Covid that wasn’t an option and I literally wasn’t able to go to a store to buy one, nor did they have any in stock and the quality is about the same for that price point no matter where you buy from. So here’s my video lol
For my lift height and the points on the frame I want to reach, it is. It could vary per use. I purchased the bottle Jack then took a tape measure to figure out where the lowest points are on the frame or axle from which I would have to raise the Jeep then ordered an extension accordingly
No offense, but no one should trade an unreliable bottle jack for a mechanical scissor jack. There is a reason scissor jacks come withe the car - they are reliable. Safety has nothing to do with it. They are intended to change one wheel. What’s more is you are storing a cheap bottle jack sideways. Sure keep a bottle jack but removing the scissor jack can screw you over if that bottle jack leaks or fails.
Lol I’m not sure if you’re comment is genuine or not, but if you honestly believe what you are saying, take two second to google “scissor Jack failure” and you will have a quick “oh” moment 😂
@@KramerJunction Hey Kramer, I was serious. To each their own. Not trying to tell you what to do. I do appreciate the video though, I would just be cautious of carrying a lower end bottle jack with no scissor jack aboard.
I bought everything a while ago and the Jack was cheaper and I’m pretty sure the safe Jack pieces were cheaper also, I was able to find the extension on Amazon at the time. After tax it was probably more like $110-115ish. After I made the video I looked everything up for the links and it did occur to me that everything cost more than what I paid when I bought it.
Yeah, main thing is it’s heavy and I just don’t use it enough to justify carrying it 🤷♂️ it’s still in the Jeep, but it will be going to the JLU when I get around to it.
I couldn't get that jack to fit in that slot in my 2018 Wrangler JL, so I purchased a 12 inch Husky took bag to store all the gear in.
Good to have you back. Missed you

keep it vertical and above and below high temps
Great video man! I have the same setup in my Jeep!
Yeah I remember in Flagstaff you telling me how your scissor Jack collapsed and you had to replace it haha
At nearly 2 ½ years in, has the bottle jack leaked from being stored on its side?
Thanks for sharing. I was contemplating a similar arrangement.
I’m glad you liked it. I can’t recommend it enough. Smaller, cheaper, lighter, safer and more compact than anything else
Nice set up.
Thank you!
Save some money and have a machine shop cut and weld an extension and saddle for a bottle jack you should already have.
Love it, was looking for a setup for my Jeepster! This is what o need. Thanks for sharing!

@@KramerJunction Definitely better than the scissor jacks--for sure!
nice video it would be cool to see the jack in action too
How is this holding up for you? They're saying it shouldn't be stored sideways...
Great Video!
Thank you!
I would just support my local stores and people's jobs. Get decent bottle Jack.

@kramer junction would a regular jack work for a stock Jeep not lifted? I don’t have a support attachment for my bottle jack
I like your vids keep it up
Awesome thank you! I’m glad you like what I’m doing 👍🏻 I appreciate the feedback 🙌
Clever… I like it
Thanks I put some thought in to it 👍🏻
Has the bottle jack leaked at all because it's on its side? Thanks.
I understand they are prone to doing so, but I haven’t had a problem with it, yet.
Is the 6 inch extension necessary? I have a 2 inch lift on my Jeep with 35" Tires

Not sure how you did it under $100. Jack on Amazon almost $40, Safejack extension $47, safejack lift pad $50.

Hey your in my neck of the woods
Yeah kinda quiet place to film
No more hi-lift eh? 🤔

Dont store bottle jack on side please
