I think people head to the back to be by themselves. I don't think they would head to the back if the cashier was back there. It sounds like you should have your most popular invrentory in the back
Yeah, we are going to keep trying new things and see what works. We're excited to have enough people coming through the doors to be able to analyze the situation.
Good luck with the business. 11:24 Try to keep your books from leaning and don't have other books laying horizontally on top (if the books where straight you'd have more room for the horizontal books to be stacked normally). It gives a strong impression of untidiness, laziness and "they're just 2nd hand books so who cares" feeling. In a general second hand store (not book specific) you could maybe get away with this, but not in a bookshop.
Thank you. I don't like having books laying horizontally across the other books. We are definitely still getting our stock together, which includes not having enough room in certain genres. I should tidy up some of the shelves for sure.
Love your store. Do you think a person could make a go of it with common books, or do you need vintage and antique too? And I was going to ask if you built your own cases, but you answered already by stating it was an established bookstore. Thanks
This was recommended by The Algorithm™ - Just wanted to say that, there are three things I'd never do, but I totally understand. Surfing is one. Like if you surf, no explanation needed. If you've made that into a total lifestyle, and you're telling me about it: "I live to surf," I'd say, "well, shyah, obviously, why wouldn't you." Another is owning a record store. And the last is owning a book store. I wish you the best of fortune. How many retail environments are also a mini-vacation, like a bookstore? Not many.
I don't surf, but I do own and run a book and record store, which I enjoy, for the most part. Let me know when the mini-vacation kicks in though. Thanks for watching my recommended video. BTW, did you see my video on the side while watching another video, or did you find it by searching for something?
Best wishes. Great to see the entrepreneurs at work! Good luck.
Thank you very much! We have received a lot of general positive feedback from customers visiting the store. Our small but mighty store will prevail.

You can set up a bookstore to specialize in a niche, as long as you can find enough customers, and have a steady supply of new inventory. Thanks.

Cool
Thank you.
Good luck do you take book donations?
Thanks, yes we do.
