@@RefeelYoga Hello. I usually google kundaliniyoga and you are one of my preferred choices, There used to be a lady with a channel called "one woman revolution" but she was disillusioned by the allegations against Yogi Bhajan so she deleted her videos, she was also very good, then there is a Swedish channel with Adam Svensson, equally excellent but his videos are very long so those are for the weekends and then of course Gurmukh, but she has very few published on the youtube
Beautiful dear! It's okay for the mind to drift in Savasana. It's not meditation where we work to stay present, rather we want to relax everything, including the mind. And sometimes this means we drift off into dreams, fantasies or completely out to space. In Savasana, this is welcome as it's part of the healing and balancing of the energy 💗
Hi Andrew, this was such a wonderful practice. The belly pumping is really interesting and challenging. I’d love to hear your perspective about why this is so beneficial? Thank you and much love 🙏 ♥️
Hey Meg! I'm glad you enjoyed! The belly pumping, known as "Agnisar Kriya", is an excellent way to stimulate the digestive system, purify the body from toxins, increase the metabolism and other factors that come with the activation of Manipura Chakra, such as increased will power and self confidence. Also, in the positions that we use it in this class we are working to send the energy upwards, creating an expansion in our nervous system which purifies our entire being. Hope this helps! With love, Andrew 🙏💞
in my experience this is exactly what all Yogic practices provide; awareness of the thoughts prevents overthinking, purification of heavy energies removes negativity, and expanding consciousness inspires faith. Keep practicing all aspects of Yoga - Asana, Pranayama and Meditation - and all these qualities will surely come to you.
It's a big endeavor! Personally I think the best approach for this is not kriya, but meditation and self inquiry. The more we can observe our own minds, be aware of how we react to certain situations, and remain the observer, the easier it will be to rewrite any of our patterns and habits.
Hello Andrew, I have got a question regarding the second part of the mantra. It is. so hong, so hung, so hom? 😄 Sorry, I did not understand well. And do you know, what this mantra means? Thank you 💚🙏, Sonja
Hey Sonja! The mantra would be most appropriately spelled with Latin letters as "So Hung". It is a Tantric take on the mantra "So Ham", which means "I am that" (not much different than "Sat Nam") The meaning, while profound, is not very important. The use of this mantra in this way is more about the vibration it creates all the way up to the top of the head. Hope this helps!
This one can okay for either time. Because of the use of Breath of Fire I would prefer in the morning, but it is not so energetic that it should interfere with your sleep, if you wanted to take it as an evening practice
😅 I am no Guru, James. But thank you! I cannot say what your experience will be. Each person has their own karmas and blockages to work through. So one may find great inner confidence and courage, while another may be confronted with their fears and insecurities. One may have an abundance of energy and enthusiasm, while another may feel heavy and demotivated. It really depends on what you need to learn from the practice. Regardless of comfort or discomfort, in the end, it will always be for your best intention, growth and spiritual evolution 🥰🙏
If you're referring to creating a state of magnetism, then yes. Sat Kriya has a beautiful effect of purifying the se.xual energy, which is a huge factor in what makes us magnetic, rather than frigid or socially awkward.
Hi, I started practicing your classes daily every morning for like a mouth or so. I feel only benefits of your classes. But last few days I started feeling spine pain during day. When I am laying on bed or sitting. Is that good or bad?
Hello Aemilius, thank you for watching and sharing your practice with me. I'm very happy to have you here. As for your spinal pain, I cannot say exactly what may be the cause. But I can share some ideas with you. Firstly, nothing on this path is really "good" or "bad". Things can be pleasant and unpleasant. But nothing is really bad. Let me give you a couple examples: It's happened to me in Yoga retreat that I've gone into such a deep process that I no longer know who I am, what I'm doing with my life, why I am even here... and I found myself in a hole of depression for nearly three months. The feeling was terrible! I really lost a lot of faith in life and trust in the people around me. But in the end, putting the pieces of myself back together, I felt more strong, more centered, more faithful and developed a much clearer understanding of who I am and what I want to achieve in this life. Another example: also in a retreat setting, where the schedule called for two 90min asana classes and at least 1 hour of meditation every day. I damaged my knees to the point where I couldn't walk up or down stairs for 2 months without sever pain. I couldn't practice any physical yoga, movements or asana. It was such a massive hit to my ego! I had a lot of pride in the strength of my practice. Being one of the senior residents at the retreat I felt a duty to perform to the best of my abilities to set an example for newer students. And suddenly all I could do was sit on a chair at the back of the class and meditate or do pranayama - the first few days/weeks were spent mostly crying and feeling bad for myself. But eventually I accepted my situation and ended up developing such a love and beautiful understanding of Pranayama - something I previously found quite boring compared to Asana. It was a super humbling experience, taught me to slow down, to observe others in their practice and to get in touch with my own energy, without needing to shine for others. I know this is a super long response to your question. But I want to highlight that sometimes we go into difficult or challenging moments along this path, and it might seem like they are bad for us, or that the practice is not working, or it threatens our ego in another way - yet there is always a lesson to learn! Always an opportunity to grow. So in your case, this pain in your spine. It's not happening during the practice? So it likely doesn't mean that you are doing something wrong. On the physical level is can be overly strained muscle - in which case I would inquire into which practices you are doing. A lot of Yogi Bhajan and Kriya based practices are very dynamic for the spine and great for mobility, but lack the deep stretching asanas that create flexibility. If all you are doing is dynamic practice I would encourage you to balance with more long asanas. Check out my Muladhara Initiation class or "The Path to Awakening" for some examples. In a more energetic sense, there may be some energy moving - too much too fast? - or stuck! This will probably settle on it's own, but you could try to include more slower pranayama into your practice: Nadi Shodhana, Maha Yoga Pranayama, SammaVritti There may be some emotion deep inside that you're struggling to allow and it's manifesting in physical pain - try crying, screaming, sobbing, raging, go into a catharsis and see if something new moves inside you. Above all remember that the practice is working for you, sometimes the "benefits" are not pleasant experiences until we look back and discover what have learned from them. Let me know if any of these ideas have resonated with you. I hope it helps. With love, Andrew
