Yes, it brought back a memory. Last year while doing a 10 day challenge, I threw my back out doing standing Uddiyana Bandha. I couldn't hardly move for about two weeks. I've never done it standing again.
Oh my David! I'm so sorry to hear that you had this bad experience with Uddiyana Bandha :( Did you manage to do the sitting version in this class? Or did you skip it all together?
@@RefeelYoga Yes, I do it sitting now days. That is the only practice I've ever had a problem with and I really can't say for certain that it was what caused the problem. But that was the only thing I was doing that was different than usual. I was a heavy equipment operator for about 45 yrs, I've throwed my back or neck out just taking a shower. So, I can never really be certain what causes it. I just try to not get too radical with any practice. Thank you for your concern. Keep up with the great videos.
Thank you Andrew, for this wonderful practice. I’d like to express to anyone new to this and reading this, to please make sure all furniture or objects are cleared at least 4 feet in all directions from your space. Please do not underestimate the power of this practice. I had once gone too far, and it I didn’t think I would as sometimes energy can just burst up, and woke up holding my head from almost cracking it open on an edge of a glass table that was a few feet to the right and just laying there thinking…”nice Dean….nice.”
Phenomenal. You are a great teacher. Will guide friends to your channel. I did 200hr KY training long time ago and push it away for years. Now that I know the current times ask for all of us to connect to divinity, started searching for a good teacher. And, here you are 😃! 🦋🙏🦋
Wow Angie! I'm so grateful that you feel a resonance with what we're offering here and it's motivating you to get back to your practice. It's an honour to be able to share the practice with you 🙏💝
This is a beautiful practice that is both energizing and grounding. I loved the breath work and gentle movement that stirred up lots of stagnant energy. Thank you, Andrew. Kundalini Yoga is so very powerful and you make the practice accessible.
OMG I FEEL LIKE IM LITERALLY HIGH AFTER THIS PRACTICE, ITS VERY WEIRD FEELINGS THAT I CANNOT PUT INTO WORDS, ITS LIKE TO JUMP INTO THE UNKNOWN, JUST THE ECSTASY FULFILLED MY WHOLE BODY😅 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS CONTENT🙏🏻NAMASKAR🕉
Thank you! Now we are in Abbotsford, BC. Near to Vancouver. This video, however, was shot at a small campground called Horseshoe Lake in Fort Steel, BC, Canada.
Hi Andrew! Thank you for this energizing practice. I was getting home low energized, some sligt headache, and a rare presence in my mouth. Now after the practice I fell awaken and without any harm. The energy knows where to go. Thank you. Regards, Sonja
This is amazing Sonja! I'm so grateful to know that you found this practice and it has helped you to feel better 🤗 Keep it up! May you always always find your way back to a high vibration 🙏💞
Really like this practice and the surrounding. I think you are a great teacher, i have follow your lessons sins februari and are wery thankfull for your classes. 😊
Thank you Vicky! I'm so happy that this video turned out as well as it did! You have no idea how hard it is to make these outdoor videos! We were camping and it's either the light isn't good, the weather changes, there's smoke or the noise of traffic or people partying... Constant opportunities to practice letting go 😂 So I was very happy that we got to record this one when everything was calm and beautiful.
You're very welcome Pandan! I'm glad that the practice was energizing for you :) I use an app called "Metronome Beats" (on android). It's one of the few metronome apps that I could find that also incorporates a countdown timer. However, I should also note that in my videos I usually overlay a metronome track so that the sound is more clear.
Aha! I love it Oscar! Let me know how it goes. This is essentially the 5 bodies challenge, with the sun salutations replaced with the spinal series. I think it'll make a very beautiful journey for you 🙏💖
Hey Em! I have a 10 day program, called "Raise Your Vibration", which focuses entirely on Uddiyana Bandha, the stomach vacuum. I think you would find it very beneficial! It's an older series - the first 10 day challenge I did - but a great one to develop one of the most fundamental Kundalini practices. ruclips.net/video/Xlmt0xRQl08/видео.html
I would say that this is a very balancing practice. There are some dynamic movements and fast breathing which can be more energizing, but there is also Uddiyana Bandha which activates the Parasympathetic and sublimates the energy. Overall, it is likely that you will be both energized and relaxed from this class.
Hi I really like ur practice and appreciate your work. I have a question, what's the meaning of So ham? I listened several time, but I couldn't get it. Thanks alot
Hey Rachel, so glad to know you've been enjoying to share your practice with me. Thank you! "So Ham", translates to "I am That". It is simultaneously the inner mantra, the ongoing sound behind respiration, as well as the deepest of revelations brought back from those who have caught a glimpse "behind the curtain". Due to the expansive nature of reality beyond the ego, existing beyond the scope of words or the mind itself, it is impossible to define within the limitations of our language. Therefor one who has experienced such an expansion of consciousness can only try to describe the experience poetically as "So Ham"/"I am That".
Very beautiful practice. Thank you so much. A quick question. When you do the alternate nostril breathing, is the purpose to fill in and out the lungs completely that is use the whole range of the the lungs? Thank you once more for your time and effort.
You're very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed. Yes, we want to breathe completely, but in a comfortable way. For example, we want to fill to 85-95% and empty to a relaxed void state. But not forcing to have the lungs 100% empty like we do in Uddiyana Bandha, nor 100% full to be causing any extra stretching of the lungs.
Thank you Loreto! I'm glad to hear you've been enjoying to share your practice with me. I'm originally from Canada. But I've spent the last 10 years living abroad, mostly in non-native English speaking countries (with the exception of Australia). So my accent now is a strange mix of what has been picked up along the way 😅
The best thing to do in this case is to work on Muladhara Chakra, to regain energy, vitality, strength and stamina (all things lost with the release of the seed). This Muladhara Chakra Initiation class is perfect for for that! ruclips.net/video/3dX5e0O12jA/видео.html
Try this class and stopped after about 13 minutes. definitely did not like how we're jumping right into all these funny jerky movements without any kind of stretching or warm up.
Interesting that you experienced it that way. Most of this sequence (sufi grind, spinal flexing, twisting, etc.) would be considered warm up exercises and are generally used to wake up the body for this style of practice.
This is not a sequence from Yogi Bhajan. It's a practice of my own. When I teach Yogi Bhajan's kriyas I do use the Sikh Mantras, but when I teach my own kriyas I prefer to use different mantras and consecrations to avoid confusion.
Thank you joy and peace
