Do you think that this Camino is better than the others? what is your favourite route and why?

I walked the Primitivo in 2022, I loved it, for me it's the best camino that I've done so far, epic.

Great video ! I walked the Norte/Primitivo this June and it's really nice to get a reminder of the route. Some long days and some spectacular views. The path over the Hospitales was especially good although the wind was so strong and gusty at the top that it was hard to stand upright at times - icy cold too. You're not using the HoverAir X for any drone video?

Glad you enjoyed it - for me also it was the best Camino I have done so far! Sadly I did not have the HoverAir at this time - I used it to film on the Camino Portuguese - which I am also editing at the moment - have you seen the new HoverAir Max?

@@TheGingerVicar-iu4mb I'm waiting for the hands-on reviews on the new ones after launch as the reviews so far were only done at the press conference (and I'd like to see a proper comparison between them and the DJI Neo). Just wanted to know if you actually found it usable on the caminos as I have a tendency to get excited about new tech and then not actually use it too much... I really like the idea of them (size, simple functionality, etc) but wondered if the noise level externally was too annoying. Would love to be able to get some simple drone shots with something as small and packable as that though.

For me the drone was great and I used it more than I thought I would. Yes, it has limits but I loved it for filming. the fact you can fold it really helps with size - the Neo looks good but not sure it will fit in my pocket

I did primitivo in 2022. It is a different experience from frances. Personally, i like frances more, less stress over places to sleep and food.

Also, I’ve done 2 Camino’s and I think it’s pretty universal to loath a loud snorer in the middle of an albergue. Sleep is vital on the Camino so as we say in America , love the sinner, hate the sin. 😂

  • @Caminohacks

I hear you with the albergue snorers! Why go communal if they know they're going to snore the house down 😭. When did you walk it? I went in June and getting accommodation along the route was fairly easy with no one turned away.

I was walking in September - It was more of a battle of accommodation than the the norte which was also hard work - I think i just locked into a packed week

I walked past that albergue to stay in the 1000 year old monastery, it did look nice in your video tho

Not every pilgrim can afford hostels, private rooms or hotels. Nobody snores on purpose. When you’re not prepared for snorers, you’re not prepared on the Camino.

    • @Caminohacks

@@erikopdecamino3510 I agree with you in principle and I am passionate about the Camino being accessible to everyone, regardless of budget. But, I would say if you know you're a bad snorer you and cannot afford to get a private room then you need to at least try to help those around you - let people know you may snore, try not to drink too much alcohol before bed (this makes me snore) and possibly take some cheap ear plugs to hand out to people. All are welcome on Camino, but we also need to be mindful of others.
      Buen Camino

@@Caminohacks I agree that snorers (but nog only them :-) ) should take care with alcohol. The idea of handig outfit ear plugs seems undoable to me. One might need an extra backpack ;-) For those with a smartphone and Spotify: load a playlist with ‘white noise’ and sleep well. For me it works great.

Hello, thanks for your videos ! Apologies if you addressed in the video somewhere , but what were the dates of your Primitivo? I’m hoping to do the route in ‘25 and trying to figure out the best month , but thinking mid may. Thoughts ?

Complaining about pilgrims snoring is very rude. Snoring isn’t intentional, and it’s difficult to control. You should have bought earplugs or paid for a private room. That kind of attitude isn’t in the spirit of a true pilgrim.

    • @TheGingerVicar-iu4mb
      @TheGingerVicar-iu4mb  3 месяца назад +2

It was rude..... yet my honest feelings, but thank you for pointing it out and forgive me for my honesty ........ True pilgrims.......that is a question I remember the cast of "The Way" discussing, I think they talked about the need to suffer as a pilgrim. Anyway, you are just seeing a normal human being struggling with the reality of shared sleeping spaces - Snoring is a normal part of the experience if you stay with others, and yes, grace must be offered - hang on, that's what I said........ "I guess the pilgrim spirit is to forgive and give grace, and tonight, sleep will go on the American Express card!" - So I did what you asked of me to be a true pilgrim - And to all who might read this ...If you snore or don't snore, get on the Camino and grow, find faith and learn to forgive - God with give you to opportunities to show grace - sometimes you fail, as I have many times but keep walking and forgiving and searching.

The message of if you do not feel bad you should feel bad, was disappointing, but we all struggle at times.
To be frank I get the frustration. Most snorers were apologizing all the time during my caminos (even if its part of life and a mass habitation), but there was a bloke who snored, smoked, drank wine aplenty then did not shower.
I didnt sleep in the garden due to the snoring, but I do understand frustration for the lack of respect.
