Hi Danny - just watched this and wanted to thank you again for a fantastic lesson. What is so impressive is the absolute clarity you can convey so quickly. Obviously I’m horrified by how my swing looks lol - but I guess all that matters is where the ball ends up and the score on the card. Appreciate the kind comments from your viewers - it’s always so hard to take a concept that you see or are told about and to actually do it, but having Danny there to guide me made a huge difference. When I walked into that session, I felt completely lost. I had no idea that I was moving off the ball so much. I’d tried all sorts of tweaks and fixes. Now, thanks to Danny, I have a clear process to work on and can honestly say that he is a genius. Thanks Danny. Really appreciate it.

I am 70 years old, and I am also a golf course architect for a senior tour player. I normally do not watch videos, but two things I should mention: All pros regardless of swing have master to hit the ball squarely at impact. Danny is one of the few teachers that explains precisely how to improve, and he keeps it simple the travel path of the club and where you have to be at the point of impact. Notice he only mentions to the student head location at the beginning, which he stops swaying. However, the student head still moves, and at one point he looks as though his eyes moves away from the ball and looking at the club path as he coils, and then brings his eyes back to the ball at the last minute before hitting ball. It's kind of strange or is it a video angle that causes that illusion? But he doesn't want to throw too much info at him that can confuse him. I am a 6.9 HC lost distance due to " it's the stage of declining skills" because of my age. So, in watching all of Danny's videos has help me tremendously in tweaking here and there. Just remember my fellow golfers, course management very important and play within your means. I wish Danny lived here in Miami to take lessons. No doubt I am a fan of Danny!

This is insane. I literally figured this very issue out on Monday at the range. I couldn't figure out why I was recently pulling and hooking my irons and hybrid (I used to slice them). It just started, out of the blue. So, I went to the range and realized if I set the ball back further in my stance, I not only straightened out my shots but also was able to get the low point ahead of the ball more often, and compress the ball for more distance. Great video Danny!

Danny’s explanations leading into the videos really helped me visualize what the goals of the lessons were. And the part about the player’s understanding (or lack of) how the swing arc works emphasized what I’ve been learning in my garage sim about how the swing should actually work. I feel too many new golfers like myself have a misunderstanding on how the swing arc works and try to swing in to out incorrectly because of it. Amazing video Danny, can’t wait to incorporate this into my practice sessions

Once again, you take the complex and make it simple. Golf is a very hard sport and when you show thru simplified methods, it starts to click. Just like you said though, trust is what has to happen when you get on the course, because the mind has to be re-engineering to a new set of patterns.

Danny. Thanks for your advise and lessons. I generally do not write reviews. But I just returned from the range and feels 100% more confident to hit my driver.
I used to have a big slice, and stopped using driver for many years. I followed your steps and worked on this for 4 nights. Night 3 was a struggle, but tonight at the range, hit about 90% dead straight.
Most valuable was to create the space. I found having a little more distance from ball at setup, helped, and with the simple structured swing, things worked perfectly.
Still more to work on, but within 4 hours of work, massive improvement.
Keep up the good work and thanks for helping the average golfer. Much appreciated.

Another great lesson Danny showing how to change a slice into a draw with irons and driver. I play with many golfers with handicaps ranging from 9 to 28. Generally those who get below 18 have reasonable control of their irons but most of the time they slice the driver. The golfers who reach say 14 handicap have found a way to reduce their slices. This is me. I don’t slice any club other than the driver. This includes all my fairway woods.
The key factors for me which Danny highlights is that the ball position for the driver is so forward that unconsciously the shoulders are open and creates an over the top swing giving the slice. So I play the driver with a closed stance and create a tilt in setup.
One other possible reason for the slice with the driver can be the lack of control of the longest club in the bag.. up to 46inches long. Either reduce the shaft length or go down the shaft to achieve more control of the face of the club. Apparently, many golfers on tour have drivers below 45 inches.

Danny, I've watched this video multiple times ... waiting for the driving range (with Trackman) to open. Wow! Just wow! As you explained ball position and high hands, I started hitting small draws then larger until I could dial in a wicked hook! Amazing. I've always given balls to the right side of the course, even though this past summer I learned to hit mostly straight balls or gentler fades. Unlike Jonathan, my handicap is 17.
A few fades accompanied all of the draws. And, like Jonathan, when it came to driver, I was concerned that it just wouldn't work. Danny to the rescue again!!! I still have trouble lining up to the right and expecting the ball to be center or small draw ... but, I'm beginning to get it.
OK, I'm convinced. Now (cold, dead winter in the midwest USA), I can wait until I can get on the course again. What a wonderful session at the driving range. Thanks, Danny!!

    Also, a lightbulb moment
    ☝🏻💡
    “HIGH HANDS”
I know that I bend over too much. I never knew I did that until I saw my golf swing on video.
But watching this, I now realize I …
    1) bend over too much,
    2) try to LOWER my hands (and probably need HIGH HANDS), and I also
    3) grip the club as close to the end of the grip as I can (in an effort to lengthen the club)
BUT, I have long (35”) arms
    🙄
thus, these things I’ve been doing all lead to LOWER hands and early extension.
I am going to try this (stand more upright, HIGH HANDS and choke down a bit on the grip to SHORTEN the club) in the X-Golf simulator on Monday, and see if I can “exaggerate it, then dial it back” 😉
    Thank you 🙏🏻

Danny, love your video’s and teaching techniques!! I found your feed just a couple days ago and have been watching several. I recently purchased a new set of PXG irons (along with a PXG driver and hybrid 3). My first outing with them was before watching some of your video’s. Yesterday, on the course I was ball striking so much better but was still having issues hitting my driver without a fade or slice. My arch is definitely more of a higher arch (up and in) which gets me in trouble on drives. Now, watching this video I think my issues are similar to your students. I can’t wait to try these suggestions on my next range visit. THANK YOU!

Danny, corrected swaying, but his head move to the right ,not looking at ball? Is this what happens?

It’s ok to tilt your head away but excessive movement makes it harder to get back to impact consistently

Thanks for tip on the hands position. Something I have never concentrated on. My ball striking and distance has deteriorated and instead of raising my hands to correct the situation I lowered them. Been a downward struggle.

Only do it if you need help shifting your path to the right. Combine it with moving ball back too

This was Jack Nicklaus’ #1 swing thought from his book, “Golf My Way” …
    “KEEP YOUR HEAD STILL!”
I know, what does he know?
    He’s “old school”
… not the modern golf swing.
He only won 117 professional tournaments and eighteen majors 😳
His teacher, Jack Grout, beat this into him, …
“keep the head still” to control the low point.
Good stuff, as always, Danny 👍🏻
    Keep up the good work.

Love the videos and all lessons I wish I could actually correct my slice I am bottoming out my driver and slicing every time I hit the course. I am truly afraid to hit driver now but love golf and just want to get better but its so frustrating trying to get better, never going to give up and hope something clicks.

Hey Danny, I just found your videos a couple of weeks ago and I have to say you do great work. I love your style and teaching technique. I wish you (I) lived closer! Lol, if you saw my swing in person you’d shake your head with the amount of work you’d have on your (my) hands hahahaha. But your videos are tremendous and help me a lot. Thank you. Keep up the great work! #followed, liked, comment (the least I can do) :)

This is part of what makes golf such a hard thing to learn, especially if you didn't learn it as a young person. I am 51 years of age and only started taking golf semi seriously last year. My biggest challenge is learning the swing with the lower body leading the movement. I can't drive the ball as far as I should BUT I don't slice the ball and I can't slice it even if I try lol. So what seems natural and easy to some people is next to impossible for others!

  • @sacpike

Holy fuck... Maude is the great slice liberator. For real. His videos are so good because they are simple and easy to implement. No 5 part check lists that muddy my thoughts when addressing the ball. "Do this, get results." Thats what we all need.

Having some of the same problems with iron inconsistency and divot varies big time, all this should help. No problem hooking the driver, go from push fade to pull hook in a second. Assuming it all relates to the same issue of moving off the ball in the back swing. TY
