Nintendo does alot of spinoffs with thier big IP, Mario has about 12 titles a generation, and Zelda has had 4 with the switch. And they have the best mashup games with Mariokart and Smash bros. Thats what id like to see out of PlayStation but with thier level of quality and flare.
Thing is ps spends alot more money so they're less likely to keep pushing the same ip if they don't sell a ton. They'd have to pursue a more AA quality but I doubt their fans would be receptive
Newer IPs is always a gamble but can be worth it. Allows gaming to move forward. Entices creativity within the studios. Hopefully this means different art styles as well in order to target different fanbases. More importantly they need to create AAA IPs for their VR section. It needs it badly because that horizon VR game ain’t it honestly and people like me ain’t getting a VR unless it has full fledge AAA games like Half Life Alyx.
It definitely does, also you can always reach back to revive whatever IP on an anniversary or what have you but alot of that older stuff was left behind for a reason. I'm all for fresh new shit, personally I think after 2 games in a franchise they should move on anyway.

I agree that we need more original IP, I'm all for that, but to say PlayStation doesn't have enough established IP's?... I don't know but that don't sound quite right to me.
I think there's a difference between just putting something out and an actual established IP. I think that's the hangup, for it to be established or have value it has to be successful.
