This story is based of the comic storyline, “One More Day”, where Peter’s identity gets revealed during Civil War. He makes a deal with MEPHISTO, to erase everyone’s memory of him being Spider-Man, including MJ, who was his wife at that time

This movie is basically "Why 'One More Day' Is Wack," the movie.

It feels more like flashpoint.
you're mistaking big time bro. "One More Day" was a lot different than this story. it was actually canonically Doctor Strange that did the ritual to help Peter, as a friend/ally. plus, that time Peter actually went and brought MJ with him inside ritual so she became the only one who remembered his identity.
"One More Day" was one of worst stories ever. it was when somebody shot Aunt May and Peter, foolishly, made a deal with Mephisto to help her cause apparently, nobody else could🤐. Mephisto asked for Peter and MJ's marriage and they agreed. this whole stupid as shit story was because MARVEL wanted Peter to become single again to "connect(read : sell)" more with young audience while the profit was already good. without divorce or widowing him. they had already sent away MJ on a plane crash and assumption of her death without confirming she was dead. then they decided to remove the marriage to begin with. after Mephisto's deal, a little girl went and did something so Peter arrive late on day of marriage, MJ got cold feet because of it and said no more marriage. there was a theory that little girl was Peter and MJ's daughter May that Norman Osborn had stolen(another story line from way before this).
"One More Day" is actually considered one worst things MARVEL did to Peter. so much so that after fans's requests MARVEL finally started some plots to slowly reverse the deal in past few years.
Fun fact: This is gonna be set at the same time as Hawkeye’s Disney+ show, and with the rumor of Charlie Cox returning as Daredevil, it *could* also mean the rumor of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin being in the show is true!

If you look closely they teased 5 villians in this trailer. Electro twice, sandman saving spider man from electro at 3:19, the lizard trying to attack Peter from behind at 3:18, green goblin and of course doc oc.
