The Revolution was THE BEST part of that show. This should have been shown instead of those random performances from people who didn't even know Prince. Wendy did the darn thing on that guitar solo during Purple Rain.
The Rock and roll hall of fame have been inducting backing bands like the E Street band. It's time for The Revolution to get their due.
Everyone in the Revolution still sounds so great. Wendy and Lisa’s career is so underrated (one of like 3 people EVER allowed to contribute anything musical to a prince album not the man himself).
There has been a few more than three who are your three?
Thank revolution for keeping prince alive you are the best
This is so good why wasn’t this in the Grammy salute? Like seriously revolution if you’re seeing this we love you and you should have been featured more.
Alcée and Family - Why? You ask...Oh, that’s all too clear and easy...it’s because The Revolution’s “Mountains” performance was by far THE BEST and totally outshined everyone else’s. I guess someone didn’t want something like THAT happening. So hence...the removal. Makes no sense right? Ah huh, I no.
Because that wanted everybody to see sorry ass John Legend.
You are right. This was great!! 💜 Hopefully they will release the whole concert.
No more like the Sheila e show. This is the prince that I know
@@BayAreaSonyes, usher was horrible too,
Only The Revolution could perform this! Beautiful and emotional; I cried.
Real Music played by real Musicians! We the fans know what The Revolution meant to Prince's career.💜💜💜💜
No. U mean we all know what Prince meant to the Revolution’s career.
@@varchitectinblack3307 No I wrote what I meant to say....
Yes, The Revolution is the original band that helped to catapult Prince's career.
You're right
Are you forgetting that Prince was a one man band. Thats what catapulted his career. That he could play so many instruments.
THIS should have been televised. The Revolution had the longest relationship with Prince. Way to go on the locals, Wendy!
The sad reality is that 90% of the audience had never heard of this amazing amazing piece of musical magic
This was my favorite Prince song when I was a kid. I bought the album 'Parade' when it came out with my allowance money. The entire album was different from anything I'd heard at the time. Mountains hypnotized me. Ahhh takes me back to better times when all I had to be in life was a kid...
Cheryl Leith Nah. It was all over MTV back in the day. It looks like everyone is glad to hear it instead of overplayed obvious cuts. I see lots of smiles on faces in this video. Only problem is it’s too short!
They are the generation that thinks Cardi B deserves her Grammy.
W.T.F. y'all.
Exactly:(((((
@@hmcbride59v2 🙈🤣
GUITARS AND DRUMS ON THE ONE!!!!
Bobby Z. always on point..
Yesss!!!!
Oh yeah!💜
I was scrolling down during the song and read this right when they said that.
@johnny Macon but Lisa shouted "Bobby's on the drums!" ;)
THIS was by far THE BEST performance of the evening. Anyone who actually lived and grew up in the 80’s Prince and the Revolution era could feel his love and energy all over this song, track and live performance! I do believe only at this point The Revolution is the ONLY band that could purely still keep Prince’s spirit alive with new albums and live performances. Because (all though appreciated), shows like this and the Estate putting out never ending Prince vault music for us to own, possess and buy just ain’t cuttin’ it anymore. RIP Purple One💜💜💜💜.
This literally gave me chills and tears at the same time, don't care what anyone says, tightest band right here, all connected perfectly, plus Wendy rocks!
That strict regimen prince had them on training sure paid off
This is my all time favorite Prince song! This should have never been cut from the show. This is the most solid performance! This is excellent! 💜💜💜
Nowhere near my favorite, nor was it a big hit, but it was a good song and a good live cut.
Same here, also my all time favorite Prince song. So mystical and magical, it's hard to explain it. Almost like a magic carpet ride, sort of what is shown in his video to this song. Even though I don't really know the true meaning of the lyrics of the song, I love it because it sounds beautiful, and it sounds really neat/cool. I remember when this song came out in 1986, I was only 15 or 16. Just hearing it brings back so many great memories. I only wish I was young again. Now I'm 50. I need to go back in time. I want to be young forever.
my fav too. the Parade album is my favorite of all of em
Yes, just reading the book about the Parade era recordings and it's apt that Wendy and lisa sung it as they wrote the tune . All their notes, they played it for prince, he loved it and added the words .
Mine too, and Pink Cashmere 💗 💓
They rocked Mountains! Peace!
Prince & The Revolution....., hands down, greatest band EVER!!!!!
I’ve not watched the tribute and to be honest I’ve no intention. Watching a host of acts murder his songs has no appeal. But the Revolution, they were worth tuning in for. Brilliant band.
I hear so many great things about this tribute but I don’t know if I will ever watch it in full simply because it’s Prince and no one touches His songs …the only thing I watched was Wendy’s solo and it was great but still …Nothing Compared 2 Prince 💜👏🙌
I agree? Feel the same . She butchered his song. The fact Prince isn't here makes me cry.
@@mariovh I must say that this was an awesome tribute! You may want to check out Miguel, H. E. R., Mavis Staples, and the Foo Fighters they were all EXCELLENT!
Here! Here! This was awesome! But for as much as I love Usher, his Prince performance made me CRINGE 🤬 THE REVOLUTION STILL ROCKS LIKE BOATS ON RUFF WATERS!
Exactly, it wasn't good ..and Wendy is the closet we will get to Prince...the Revolution was GREAT!
Tight band.
I always loved Lisa and Wendy. ❤
God Bless you Revolution..Prince is proud of u ! X
Outrageous they didn't air this!
It was prince and the revolution for a reason Grammy s what's wrong with you not showing this sooner . More revolution please!!!
Back here in 2022 because it’s ever lasting.
Fantastic! Wendy did a great job on vocals. My only regret is I keep thinking Prince is going to jump out on stage and join them all. He’s missing. But they did a great job in this Tribute to him.
Thanks Revolution! 👏🏻
OMG! Why wasn't this part of the show???? Wendy you did that!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 We need more of this!
Whyyyyyyyyy????? Wasn't this included amazing performance OMG Wendy killed it💜💜💜💜
absolutely - she is fierce and fabulous
I thought the same thing.!!
Yes!!! Why!!
Because of Sheila E
I dont think prince would have approved it, he was finished with them. He had moved on to new sounds. I feel that they were doing the tour and all this for themselves...not prince.
This is what a Tribute is supposed to be, not a bunch of folks pretending to ge Prince!
The absolute HIGHLIGHT of the show!!!
The Revolution I always liked - I always thought this band with Prince was the best lineup he ever had. Had no idea they perform separately now all these years later. They are still awesome. Wendy was great on Raspberry Beret with the guitar playing but the whole band was amazing.
I cannot imagine how incredibly difficult this must be for you. Know that we are grateful for your strength in giving us these performances. Purple love and more is all we are headed for.
Wow! Proof that Prince chose his band members very wisely. Wendy & Lisa made him proud!😭🙏
THIS is a tribute fit for our Prince!! 💜 #nevershouldhavebeencut
Long live The Revolution! Prince is surely looking down smiling.
Real tight! Prince would have loved this! Just wished they had the horns. Tears of joy here. Thanks Revolution!
Prince may be gone but Prince lives on in the Revolution. I remember the Revolution being in the background of the Purple One...but now they are in the forefront and have shown they were just as an integral part of what made the Revolution special. Awesome performance. Long Live the Revolution !!
THE REVOLUTION LIVES ON!!!
I didn't watch the show, because my heart couldn't take it. But, I heard they cut your part. So, I didn't miss anything. I came here, to listen to the true Band. Thank you for lifting me , on a dreary day...
Thats exactly how I felt
@Sheila Brown I felt the same way at first but decided to watch it to see The time and The revolution and those 2 acts made it so worth it. I was actually up and jamming with those 2 acts.
Why the hell was this cut from the show? It was so good. Would have been the best part of the night. Don’t get it!!!
This is the result of Prince's grueling practice regiment. This band is conditioned to play these songs to perfection. The original band, instruments, voices . . . this is theeee purest form of this song.
prince and the revolution..... the greatest band of the 80s in the wordl
The Revolution did Prince proud!
There’s nothing greater 💟
This is Prince’s best band!!!! THE REVOLUTION
They sound great. Vocals and instruments.
I LOVE WENDY AND LISA !!!
Wow!!!! Took me back to the summer of '86. Just wow!!!
(Fun fact:) Wendy&Lisa wrote and produced "Mountains" Prince only sang and tweaked the verses and melody 💜
THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL SYMBOLISM OF THE OPEN MIC WITH THE PURPLE SCARF !!! RIP PRINCE.
You can feel Prince's presence. MAGICAL!!😇🙏❤
I rarely use the word perfection but here I must, this performance in particular is PERFECTION !!!!!! The backdrop is awesome, the coordinating fuchsia color, the genuine expressions of joy on their faces as they perform this iconic song for us ... this phenomenal performance reminds us true fans why we have been for most of our lives. This should have been the opening to the entire tribute show and it would have been if I had my way. Thank You to The Revolution ... you have a lot of support out here and you are very much loved xoxox
THE REVOLUTION ARE A GREAT BAND !!!
😳😳😳😳😳
"And the girls...." JUST KILLED IT!!
WOW Wendy & Lisa! This is one of my favs and you just put another flavor in it!! 💜💜💜💜💜
This would've been the Best part of the Show
All they needed was The Revolution.. And for it to be filmed right at First Avenue in Minneapolis with the true fans, not some weak industry crowd all that was missing was the camera on Taylor Swift.. LOL
Morris Day and the Time was the best part of the show😎😎😎
Jor Livia AGREED!
By far, yes!
i tuned in last night to see The Revolution. one of my favorite Prince songs. tragic that this was not aired.
When Wendy starts to sing tears of joy well up in my eyes and I see him again. Thank you 'The Revolution' I still love you.
One of if not the coolest bands ever ! Sending all the love to THE REVOLUTION
Bobby on the drum-a! love all of you so much! Can’t nobody mess with the revolution not then not now not ever💜
YES thank you all so much for going back on tour. we've missed you and we NEED YOU -now more than ever.
I can’t believe this wasn’t televised during the Tribute there’s no way this should’ve been cut out their performance was LIT!🔥🔥🔥😍
Just one word - 'WOW'! One of my all time fave Prince trax - this should have made the final broadcast -PERIOD! U guys r just awesome! PLEASE come back 2 the UK soon! love U all so much! - Dan
Thank U Revolution U guys brought it on the one! 💜✝️🕊️ May U live 2 see the Dawn
O, yeah❣️ Wendy and Lisa forever! 🎉 I enjoyed this performance. I'M SO GLAD I FOUND THIS VIDEO OF THE REVOLUTION. 😄
Love it!! My favourite Prince band. Thank you for regrouping and keeping Prince's legacy alive 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
The Revolution&Prince have a history. And that, my friends, cannot be erased!
It would’ve been nice to have Prince go on a reunion tour with his “old” band members. It’s what the Purple Nation would’ve wanted.
Anything about Prince I cry and mourn his loss all over again.
This is Prince Tribute and he will be blessed with his former group paying respects for this track. RIP Prince😭😭😭😭
See!!! They could have put this in and kept Usher out of it. My personal opinion.
Agreed!!!!
They could have had the Time, the Revolution and any of his contemporaries and a few of those who were younger but truly influenced.
Wow... This is GREAT!
Amazing voice of Wendy... it's so close to Prince'voice!! 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏💜💜💜
I concur hardly a very forceful & confident soulful! LOVE WEDNY RIP to her brother Johnathan Melvoin.
I got goosebumps when I watched this.
Wendy, u did wonderful on the vocals. The band was tight & the rendition on point. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The Revolution 4ever! We love u guys! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Man, somebody was trippin'. U cant do a Prince tribute show without giving props to the original purple gang, The Revolution.
If Sheila E. made this call, I am truly shocked. I thought that she was about the music. There is no excuse to not have the best known, most flavored & most fun Prince band getting top billing. They were in one of the most iconic, freakin' movies for goodness sakes! Purple Rain was a huge for everybody in 1984. And especially for the black community - great music, original, funny & w a black male lead in 1984?? It was a huge deal. If there was a 'cookout' for movies, Purple Rain would always be invited. There was never a movie like it b4 & never has been one like it since.
I really hope this wasnt an ego thing on E.'s part. I thought that she was a musician's musician & classier than that. Im speechless.
Nonetheless > That performance brought tears to my eyes.💜🎶🤗✌🏽
That's right revolution keep your master and leader prince spirit alive god bless ya'll. R.I.P. Prince.
This should have never been cut. Nobody represents Prince better.
Yes they still got it !!! You go girl!! Lisa was always a star on her own 💕💜💕💜👑☔️
If The Revolution did an album of their own...I would buy it.
Why in the world did they cut this from the show! This is my favorite performance, by far! They just slayed this song, but I wasn't surprised, it is The Revolution after all! Much love guys! Please come to Cincinnati Ohio!!!! Your fan for life, Anna 💜
I think song is so under-rated. It’s one of my favorite Price tunes.
The Revolution ❤🎵🎸🎼🎹🥁 Mountains
Still rocking I love you guys prince would be so proud
I saw them a few years ago live. Still a tight band, and a real thrill for me. They are the only tribute to Prince out there that truly means something.
They still haven't gotten a tribute to Prince right yet. The Grammys usually does a great job when they salute an artist. Something was off about this salute but The Revolution did the damn thang!!!
Incredibly talented musicians who were able to compliment Prince, who was a phenomenal writer and musician. Wendy did great taking the lead on this one and it was nice to see Bobby have more freedom behind the set.
Oooz's the soundtrack of the early 80's with Prince! Wendy's guitar artistry and great singing voice combined with Prince! It's everything! Still love The Revolution!
Forever in my life💜
She owned the song like Prince was never a part of it to begin with! Quite an amazing performance!
Well this made me cry. RIP Prince
THAT,S what the GRAMMY,s used to be about, REAL musicians ,doing REAL music. They ROCKED it.
Prince would’ve been proud of this.
YES!!! This is what the show was missing!!! The Revolution should have hosted the whole show, instead of taking a back seat to Sheila E...who was in almost every song. What was up with that?
self promotion
Check out Apolonia's dig at her, rolling stone has a piece of it.
Well Sheila E. Was the musical director of the whole thing that’s y it was so good. Sheila E. Was prince’s lover and best friend so she is always gonna have some type of input on anything Prince entertainment wise. Honestly I think the revolution and Sheila E. Should’ve teamed up since they were the biggest aspects of Prince’s life and Career.
Prince met Sheila E in 1979. The Revolution came after that. Quit hating on Sheila. She's had the longest association with Prince.
I was saying the same sheila sit yo ass down
I'm a 58yr old brother & been hanging on prince tunes since i was 18. I like 2 think he would say...."Don't think i don't feel ur warmth, smile & luv u had 4 me, because i do. Now I'm a source of energy that surges threw u, when u hear me & that keeps us both 😊ing".
You guys absolutely made that show phenomenal! Please come back to Atlanta!
I love The Revolution..."When Doves Cry", "Purple Rain", "Kiss", Raspberry Beret" are my favorite songs...and the Movie was great. The Revolution was hands down the best time for Prince. Lisa and Wendy still look amazing.
I'm glad the network allowed you to post this. I wish Prince had done a reunion tour with you
"Mountains" is my favorite Prince album cut of all time (and that's no mean feat). Truly wondrous.
I think this most definitely would have been televised if they had the huge line up with all the flash, the brass, and dancers...the way Prince and the Revolution used to play it. Regardless, the Revolution should of had MORE air time!! THIS ROCKED THE HOUSE!!
This performance should not have been cut!
NOW THIS IS A TRIBUTE!!! They jammed!!!
So proud that the quality of the group stays intact, they may have gotten older but still superb
I would pay to see The Revolution everyday for a year. Please tour and do all these songs. Btw this is one of my top 5 fav Prince song.
Ya'll were nothing short of awesome! Got to see The Revolution do this live in New York with so many of their other classics, they are indeed carrying on Prince's legacy.
This band is beyond funky they are funky to theax
This is so mystical and magical, I can't explain it. So beautiful.
