That's fact and these dudes are great musicians considering that they had no formal training and are self taught. You don't see people playing instruments or trying to learn to play instruments anymore. That's all lost now.

I seen Morris and Prince on Tour back in the late 90's....goddamn they were good. Prince was legendary and Morris lit up the stage like a boss...GREAT performers!
You have to do the dance when you hear this song, haha. I've always loved their groove, and high energy funk sound. As a midwesterner with Minnesota ties, I am glad Prince gave these guys the exposure they deserved back in the day. They were HUGE in Minneapolis back in the day.
MERCY! Morris Day & The Time brought the soulful, fun funk! And the Foo Fighters rocked furiously hard! It's amazing that the man who co-wrote "Jungle Love" and "The Bird" also wrote "Darling Nikki". Prince was a revolutionary who was one of the greatest artists in popular music history.
Let's give credit where it's due: Prince didn't write "Jungle Love" or "The Bird." While his name might appear on the credits (with Morris and Jesse Johnson), both songs were written exclusively by Time guitarist Jesse Johnson. It's not uncommon that when a bandleader/producer records a song they didn't write, the songwriter of that song has to give the one running the show "a taste"--in this case, Jesse had to share a portion of the songwriter credit with Prince...
I cant seem to keep my feet still when I hear him 😊 Damn I miss those days when you could understand the lyrics. Ahhhh Morris Day and The Time....ones to be reckoned with!
My favorite group, songs, best moments from my college years in 1982. Every college kid would be on the floor dancing Jungle Love with, or without a dance partner. Most innocent times of our young lives thanks to Morris Day & the Time. We all genuinely tried to emulate him.
Only music group that Prince himself said he was afraid of because of how so good the Time is. Of course Prince wasn't sacred that was just a respect thing 💜
💜🎶🎸🥁💜 I MISS PRINCE & TAYLOR SOOOOO MUCH!!! Morris Day & The Time, Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis & The Foo Fighters couldn't have played any better on this night in Tribute to 💜PRINCE💜!!!!! 🤍TAYLOR'S🤍 drumming was So Damn Crisp!!! I'm not 100% sure it's the entire original lineup. Pretty sure that The Time's original guitarist, Jesse Johnson, isn't left handed. And typically played a white Les Paul (if my memory serves me). Or was it pink...hm. This guitarist sounded all right. Kinda hard for anyone to be Jesse Johnson though. But really? Who can be?
Morris and Jerome. Thank you for bringing soul to the Phoenix Arizona desert, when I was in High school. It was Prince, Vanity 6, Morris Day and the Time. Little did you know. Seeing all of you made famous history with my brother and I. All the way to the movie industry and the White House. And just to think, some friends and family. Made fun of us for loving all of you. They are speechless now. I remember being told, " Turn that mess off."! Many times when playing my records, LOL. Now the elders say, I'm sorry. They were talented people. Referring to Prince, Morris Day & Time, Vanity 6. God bless you Morris/Jerome, Prince, and Denise Matthew, and Vanity 6 band group. Our age group will never be forgotten for a unbeatable funky sound.
I bet he never thought y'all would be doing this 🤣 but I know he's looking down and is proud. Y'all go way back. I know, I was enjoying y'all both back in the day 😎❤️
Morris Day & The Time, Jill Jones, The Family and Apollonia 6 are the only great Prince creations we still have left hopefully they do a get together reunion concert so we can see them perform🥺💜
Nobody plays the mirror like Jerome. Hype man extraordinaire.
For real 🤣
What ever happened to Jerome where is he
Is he still in his Skin 🤣🤣🤣

Jerome is quite simply The Godfather of all on-stage hype-men. Just incredible

Yes he's always smooth and kills every time 👌💯. He always looks like he's having the most fun on stage.
Hmmm I think Bobby Byrd with James Brown was the OG and Godfather of hype-men..but yea Jerome popularized it most def.
@@66fredo99 Or Danny Ray. He was even a more legendary hype man for James than Bobby Byrd was. James had more than one legendary hype man.

So did we 70 year olds!
One of America's BEST EVER live acts! Morris sets the stage on FIRE!
Yesssss he does! Light it straight up in flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The Time been cold. I hate Prince fired & Jam & Lewis. He had 2 control everything

"Please welcome..... The time" ........ they still rock!!!!
They still got it! Their performance and energy level in their late 50s and 60s is better than most younger Artists. They are tight!!
Not sure about all that. 'Most younger artists'? Who the hell are you going to see these days, smooth jazz bands?

Them boys too tight, tighter than a lug nut
Foo fighters killed it that drummer was on fire..
Yes Dave did an outstanding job on vocals as well!!!!!!!!
The late, great Taylor Hawkins on drums. R.I.P. brother. From a fellow drummer. Foo Fighters were ALL on fire for that song.
Dave Grohl was a huge Prince fan. Nice rendition of the song.
Back in the late 80's I was a line cook and taught the other cooks how to do the group slide on the wet rubber mats whenever Jungle Love came on .
I would to see that
That's so cool !
