Love both bread boxes but the second one ooppss was a great fix I think that little add on made it much better. So as Bob Ross would say "we don't make mistakes just happy little accidents" 😊

I really LOVED what you did to that first roll desk type bread box!! The black was such a Beautiful charcoal, with the smoooooothest finish I've ever seen!!!! ❣️P.S.,,after seeing the pewter knob on the second box,,I Immediately thought,,' WOW ,,the first one may just get even more GORGEOUS with a chubby knob like that second one 💗

Thanks for being so willing to show us your OOPS. Steampunk is a fun style to work with; it's not my personal choice but I love how many directions you can take it. Hope you do a whole project with it!
Having watched Yvonne for several years, I have learned her style is more old farmhouse, primitive with lots of wood. After reading your comment, I researched “steampunk.” Steampunk seems to be more old industrial with metals. I’m not sure these two styles are compatible. I think Yvonne should stick with what she is comfortable doing, especially since she has so much experience with wood and does such does a great job with updating trash to treasure and saving many items from the landfill.
If you believe these two styles are compatible, I’m sure the RUclips audience would be interested in seeing your vision. If you don’t want to set up a RUclips channel, there are other social media for you to use (Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) Don’t give up your vision; show us! Good luck!

I do that a lot messing up. It’s a good thing you had those cute metal pieces. It does look cool on it. I don’t know if I mentioned this but you got me hooked on that black paint. I love using it n it does a beautiful job of covering. I’ve done several pieces using the Waverly antiquing wax on the black also. What a difference it makes on the black. Yes, you’ve definitely inspire me in everyone of your videos. I couldn’t go any higher on that sweet tall box with the rusty crusty bird in it. On a fixed income being a widow now. I know who ever pays it will enjoy it for years to come. Have a beautiful day.

Oh goodness!! I have had so many "Oops" that have turned out to be very serendipitous in the end, that I ultimately loved the "fixed" version better than the original idea. I think your Tim Holtz cover up pieces were quite a clever idea! I don't know about it looking Steampunk, unless you were to put a Tim Holtz metal gear behind the knob as a backer. But it does look more masculine. Breadboxes don't sell well in my booth, but they sell great at the markets I do. I need to get some done up.

I was married to a wood working for 20+ years. I never seen anyone put Shellac on wood then paint on top of it. Very interesting. I would think the paint would peel. I am definitely going to try it. Thanks very the video
Shellac actually helps the paint stick.. like primer

Just curious, why do u do stencils vs just a transfer?
Every project is different.. but personally I like painting stencils on if the project allows it.

When you say poly acrilic and shellac are they the same
No they are not, shellac is more of a primer and polycrylic is a top/finish coat
