  • Inside the Luthier's Shop with BigDGuitars.com. I finally dug into one of the Walla Walla Guitars and decided to get a little adventurous with this one. Going for the color wheel with these tints and added some crystals for some flair. Very Unique look, the wood held up pretty well.

    Liking the multiple camera angles Derek, it's more editing work but it's worth it. That body turned out bad-ass! Cheers, Chris.

    I like the orange on the horn where the yellow shows through. What would it cost to get one of those bodies finished all in the orange yellow as the horn shown at 11:10 on the video shiped to oshkosh wisconsin?

    Why not leather dyes? Aesome work btw

    Nice. Were the colors intentionally faded? If not, I'm still sold on Procion dyes as they offer a broader spectrum of colors. they are far more vibrant than the ones used here. And they stay vibrant. Known as a textile dye and work wonderful on wood as they are fiber reactive actually becoming part of the wood fiber. Comes in powder and can use water and/or alcohol to mix. I highly recommend trying them. Dharma Trading company has the biggest selection of colors. I don't work for them just use their products very happily and proudly for over 25yrs.

      aren't those tie dye like rit? How are they better? any vids out there?

    • @Bingopete71
      @Bingopete71 7 лет назад

      not like RIT. far superior. yes used for tiedye. the best ones anyway. and if you have a solid color t-shirt it was dyed with fiber reactive procion dye

    • @Bingopete71
      @Bingopete71 7 лет назад

      it's a textile industry standard dye and has been for nearly 40 years

      sorry can't post pics of my guitars I've used dye with. I love your vids and get great ideas from them. have future projects to try more stuff with.

      I just think that considering how strong the color appeared when you applied it to after it dried then poly it looks pastel. the procion never did that to me on wood. it always stayed brilliant. that's why I think they may be better and perhaps worth trying. be careful if you try going cheap with a tiedye kit from Walmart or wherever. Dharma Trading company first site to stop and look. main reason no videos exist on using them for guitars is because I didn't make one yet. next project.
