I build acoustic guitars. This man knows what he's doing. There are a number of tools and jigs that would allow him to be faster, and more efficient. He's doing it the old school way, by hand, with feel. Unbelievable workmanship.

I'm a musician, and used to build guitars, and I gave up on building them because I would always have people come to me to buy, but never wanted to pay my price but wanted to pay cheaper than most factory made guitars, but most people don't see how much time and effort it takes to build one guitar, especially in a good quality way, builders put a ton of time, effort, and sometimes even money in order to make these, and have to be very skilled and patient in doing so, I hope this video opens a lot of people's eyes and shows them how much it takes for one guitar to be made by hand, with little to no machinery

Absolutely right, only industrial making can lower the real price of handmaking, including buying tools full price, spending lot of hours..no comparison.

By doing it and doing it and doing it. As much as people romanticize it a lot of time is spent doing the monotonous things like sanding. Its work. To do it well you have to be uncompromising when it comes to quality even if the extra time costs yourself money. The bottom line its work. I'm a woodworker and the best part of the job for me is when its finished. I don't look back and on to the next. A good craftsman makes mistakes but is capable of fixing them. One who makes mistakes and the repair draws your eye to it still has a ways to go.

I'm the son of a NASA Engineer, if 3 nails work, I use 5 screws. That doesn't mean I don't measure once and cut twice, or completely scrap a project, but my Father taught me about Linear Thinking. If you make a change here, what happens down the line? He worked on Saturn Rocket boosters in Huntsville,AL where we grew up. He was " the" Electrical guy, and the wiring diagram was a 600 page bi- fold printout. As a kid, a would draw and color on the old printouts . One day I kinda saw this BIG stack of paper on his office upstairs, and started drawing and coloring on it. He came home, had dinner went upstairs to do some work, and found my Masterpiece. Had to go back to Marshall Space Center and reprint 600 pages. If you made a change to a circuit, what was the ohm drop, amperage change 3-400 ft up to the Capsule. Amazing Man
I’ve been a Luthier for just over 40 yrs and I gotta say son, that’s a fine looking guitar. Taking used wood and applying just the right amount of finish made it a real beautiful axe. This whole video brought me back into the past. Back to high school, when we used to have woodshop class. 6 years of wood shop class I took. From 7 grade to 12 grade. Woodshop class help me out greatly in life. I did not know it at the time. I was only taken a class I could pass. But years later, I still remember the skills I learned in woodshop class. And use them...

I'd sure as hell glue it to the workbench several times deliberately just to get the worst part of the stupid stuff behind me.Then get through the skin grafts I couldnt dig out of the router in time to have useable pieces.

It's like a Jazz box that's been filled in, going by the depth of the body! This guitar must sustain for hours, the long tenon neck joint would make sure of that! What a beautiful guitar. And well filmed, too. An all too rare pleasure.

Serg Kinder if you are talking about the strip that can be seen at around 14:10, then I believe it is for the truss rod. The truss rod goes down the neck and can be tightened or loosened to adjust the how it is bent.
