Awesome! Your help is much appreciated. Learnt: (i) JR pass already has reservation; and (ii) the subway station is outside, hence will take JR train and then walk to the other side. The early trains are Nozomi and you waste time waiting for slower trains for a long trip like the one to Hiroshima.
I like the fact that Japan, unlike Europe where pickpockets are everywhere, is safe. Have to learn to be quiet (very difficult for Indians/Americans). Next time I will bring my eldest daughter, son in law, and two grandsons.

Thank you for the video! For our last trip a travel agent set up which trains we should take and we had the JR pass, but for our future trip we would not want to buy the JR pass anymore so it was helpful to see an example.
My question if you are able to answer, is any recommendations for bringing a stroller to Japan? We are hoping to visit again when my youngest is around 2 years old. We went a couple of years ago with my then 3 year old and didn't bring one, and that was difficult because we ended up carrying him a lot. I only saw a couple in Tokyo and none in other areas like Hakone (which made sense because there weren't always sidewalks and it is hilly). Are they frowned upon or just not common? Thanks!

I'll be in JP in June to end of July. I have no idea how to take the train system so I'm watching your video. Also, I like to stay at Japanese hotel (outside of Tokyo), 1. What is the largest, affordable Japanese hotel chains that have onsen and breakfast/dinner included. 2. Does these affordable Japanese hotel chain allow you to stay for 2 weeks, 3 weeks and even 1 month? 3. Can you give me the list of all Japanese chain hotel... America we have Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Choice, Hyatt etc.. but I don't want to stay at these American hotels. 4. Does Japanese hotel have loyalty program like to earn points for staying at their hotel? 5. Does these hotels provide transportation from the nearest station to the hotel? 6. Does these hotels accept credit cards like Visa/MC/Amex? 6. Does these hotel have early check-in/late check-out? 7. How do I register to be a member at these hotels?
Every year I visit JP for 1 to 3 months and want to start staying at Japanese affordable onsen hotel. For American hotel, I am elite status for all of them (Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Choice, and Wyndham). Thank you.

@@liljapan Oh, thank you very much 🙇
I'll be leaving California to JP on June 4th (Saitama) and in Tokyo again on June 17th to 18th, let's connect and I like to invite you for lunch while I'm in Tokyo. June 19th early morning I'm flying to Bali, Indonesia for 1 week to relax at Ritz Carlton. I'll head back to JP after Bali and stay in JP until the end of July. Starting 2025, JP will be my 2nd home based to position for SE Asia countries side trips. It is closer to visit SE Asia from Japan.
Yes, I am elite status.... Hilton (Diamond), Marriott (Titanium and lifetime Platinum), Hyatt (Globalist), IHG (Diamond), Choice Privilege (Gold), Wyndham (Diamond), ALL Accord (Gold).
For Japan hotels = Zero 😔
I'll go through your video later regarding the Japanese hotels. Thank you 🙇

@@liljapan Looks like JP hotels doesn't have elite status like American hotel chains. Their early check-in and late check-out is based on paying rather than elite status perks. Here I get 9am check-in and 4pm late check-out, also room upgrade to suite. Lacking of lounge access for afternoon tea and light meals. My status also gives me food/beverage credits and annual credits for dining so I can use it for dinner within the American hotels. Plus all the free nights certificates. Like in Bali, 5 nights are free at Ritz Carlton and pay 2 nights with points so basically the whole week is free.
I guess the conclusion is JP hotel/inn/Ryokan is not ideal for long term stays (only if it's reasonable priced all-inclusive stays) and enjoy the onsen ♨️ the rest of the reservations especially in SE Asia I use American chain hotels.
Maybe a good idea is stays at American hotel in Japan that have onsen ♨️ and/or a American hotel that is walking distance, near to a day spa onsen ♨️ that would work perfectly. I like Japanese public onsen bath 😊 we should go sometime together Jake!

We stayed at an amazing hotel in Kyoto, Chisun Premium, can’t rate the staff and facilities enough. Everything we needed and some, including facilities to do your laundry and that all important public bath. Sorry for butting in Jake, my nephew even has it saved on his Google maps for when we return. 😊
