The original owners of these old Honda bikes are really up there in years. I'm the original owner of a "93 Honda F2 that I bought new in 1994. I still have it. My bike has around 20,000 miles. This bike in the video looks dirty and it looks like it has a lot of miles on it. Your reviews are helpful, I downloaded all three videos for future reference. My Honda F2 does not like to sit. It seems to mess up carburetors if I let it sit for months or years being unused. I have the original fairing on the bike but the spray can paint job does not look good. It needs one of those new $550 dollar Chinese fairing kits. I've had the carbs off the bike 3 times. I have not had to break the individual carbs apart, just cleaning the jets and that's it. I put some redline carb cleaner in the bike. Never use that stuff. It does not dissolve with gas and it clogged all my jets. I started working on bikes as a teenager but I was not any good at all. Doing mechanical work takes a lot of CONCENTRATION and a good memory. As I got older I became a decent mechanic able to do complex stuff on motorcycles.
I hope to keep this one for a good long while and bring it up to as original as I can get it! I’ll have to steer clear of that redline stuff then! I don’t want my carbs gummed up, thanks for the tip :)
They sell those black round rubber diaphragms that attach to the carburetor vacuum slides. They no longer sell the diaphragm and slide assembly together for the F2 motorcycle model. Do you know of any way to attach new rubber diaphragms to those plastic slides on the F2? I have not found any information on how to do that for a F2 motorcycle.
Hey, good question! I do not know how to reattach those diaphragms once they're off, if I was in that predicament I would try to find the diaphragm and slide already assembled from another F2 carb to save myself the trouble...maybe ebay or some other F2 forum may have OEM carb parts. Im planing to take the driver liceence for motorbikes. And Im looking to buy one sence its the same age as me and I saw one for cheap, but Ive never owned a motorbike, would it be an ok purchase for a newbie?
Hey Alex, thanks for the comment! I would still recommend a 300cc personally but I would take the motorcycle riders course first to see how you feel on a smaller bike, and if you feel comfortable then it might be a good fit for you. Just remember that some older bikes can be fixer uppers and might require work! Since it is an older bike, it wont have the power as a brand spankin new 600 but itll still kick you off if you're not careful!
I dont think you can, apparently the F3 uses a different air intake method. I would try to find a forum like this one: cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-600f2-16/f3-carbs-fit-f2-100/ as that could probably tell you more about it!

What were the other hoses connected to tank
There is one fuel line (thicker hose) and one vacuum line (thinner hose)
