Developed by Sega, Crystal Warriors is an RPG first released in 1991 for the Game Gear. In Japan, it's known as Crystal Legend.

Oh wow. This game looks like something I would like. I like how cute the SD graphics look and a small time investment.
I had both this and "Defenders of Oasis" on my Game Gear back when I was a kid. Eldor was usually my MVP on most maps.

I used to covet all kinds of interesting Game Gear marketing back in the day, I wanted one so bad. When my parents heard it ate batteries they said forget it!

This was the first SRPG I ever played, and a major reason why I hate permadeath in SRPGs. My best friend who owned it had lost the manual so I didn't realize the game had permadeath and had to restart several missions in due to not having enough available characters to keep fighting.
I've played Crystal Warriors many times. I always enjoyed it.
Seeing your video makes me want to pull out the Game Gear and play it again. 😊
The graphics on this one may be a little bit too basic for me. But I bet it blew people's minds back in the day.
