Faster Shifts, Better ET's. Th Barton Hybrid 3 Shifter is designed to deliver exceptional shifting performance in an easy to install package. Fitting 2011-2014 Mustang GTs, the Barton Hybrid 3 Shifter has a 25% reduction in shift throws over the stock MT-82 shifter and can be mounted either as a solid linkage via the trans mount or a pivoting mechanism by using the body mount. Intended to reuse the stock shift knob, the Barton Hybrid 3 Shifter can also accomodate any aftermarket knob that has a 12 mm x 1.25 thread pattern. While it may seem inconsequential, shorter shifts mean faster shifts, which actually translate to better times on the track. A short shifter is great mod for any manual Mustang.
Smooth, Firm Shifts. The Barton Hybrid 3 Shifter is made entirely out of 100%% CNC billet aluminum and stainless steel. The adjustable side-to-side spring pressure system will give you the ability to execute perfect shifts each and every time, especially the 2-3 shift which can sometimes be tricky with the stock shifter. This shifter is also equipped with a 3-bushing system that eliminates any deflection that can be felt when power shifting the stock unit.
Moderately Complex Procedure. Although the Barton Hybrid 3 Shifter is a direct fit replacement to the factory shifter in your 2011 to 2014 Mustang GT and 2012 to 2013 BOSS 302, the installation process is somewhat involved and really benefits from access to a lift. Working inside the car and around the center console is easy enough, the more tasking aspect of this job is lowering the transmission to get enough clearance to undo the OEM shifter and place the Barton lower unit back in its place.
