Mine is only bad in the am, about the first 10-15 shifts. The 1-2 shift being the worst. Put in a Barton and BG Synchro Shift 2 fluid and it helped, but not nearly as smooth as my old T5 tranny was

Did it in my driveway this past Monday. Boy was I nervous, but after going through the motions of what I needed to do and making sure I could reach all the bolts with my tools I went for it. Those bolt that hold the shifter in place did not like my swivel, but I didn't panic. I just got the 10mm deep with a ratchet out and it came out nicely. I have to undo the inside to adjust the plate. I was getting hung up going into second gear. Actually shifting the plate to the driver's side made the proper adjustment and now it shifts like a dream. I started noting some rather loud rattle yesterday. We'll see what that's about, but over all I happy this could be done in my driveway on about 4-5hrs.

The hardest part is getting that bolt out of the front mount. I had to use a crowbar with an extension to push the trans away from the passenger side to get it out. Getting it back in is even harder. I had to put the crowbar under my armpit and twist my body so I could have a hand on the bolt and a hand in the shifter housing. This was on a 17. I did a 14 and it was exactly the same. What a PITA.

Why not remove the exhaust midpipes and driveshaft? While that will be a little more time consuming, it seems it will make the whole process much easier overall not having to fish your hands, tools and the shifter parts up around the driveshaft and exhaust.

I've got a 2016 mustang GT and looking into a Barton flat side short throw shifted. It seems to be a lot of talk on you tube that the reverse lockout doesn't work. Have you ever come across this and did the lockout work. Everyone that has responded to me on the flat shifter says the lock out didnt work for them either. I know the Barton web site shows on the flat side short throw you have to push down on the stick to engage reverse and pull up on the round shifter. Any info on this will be the deciding factor in which one I purchase. Thanks

The P-zero Perelli tires in the P-Pack GTs made the whole back end jump up in wide-open throttle in cold weather unless it was above 95-F outside. I hated those tires. They cornered and braked, OK but under power first and second gear were useless to me. Went to BFG - much happier. After catback and FRRP stage 2 intake mod I need more traction again however.

take that shit back to whoever put it in, and tell em to make it right. Dave Moses from Barton covers the fix for that in his install video on youtube. its simple to correct, but you need to remove the shifter boot in order to access the screws on the top of the cartridge to make the adjustment. I just installed mine this past weekend, and had the same exact problem, and it was easy to correct. just loosened 4 bolts, gave the shifter cartridge a little nudge nudge, and problem fixed.
