Nice. Now I'm glad I didn't cook my package of bacon today since this seems to be a better way than heating up the oven in our 110+ Arizona temps 🌞🐾 BLT's tomorrow for sure 👍
That is really good to hear... glad you enjoyed the bacon and BLT's are OMG using this bacon!!! Thanks for trying my method and sharing your results!!!
John, funny how you posted this because this is how I cook my bacon. The best part is you can add a liquid smoke to the water and it will give your bacon some great flavoring. I normally pressure cook my bacon for 8 minutes.
I have tried every recipe I can find on RUclips for cooking bacon in various ninja cookers. I have a foodi, grill and oven and I’ve tried each way. This is, by far!!!, the best way I’ve ever tried!! I tried it in the oven but you can only do half of a bacon pack at a time and the second round ALWAYS fills the house with smoke. The foodi was okay but it wasn’t the best bacon ever. The grill curls up and isn’t as perfect of a texture as this!! I will never eat bacon any other way!! Thank you so much for taking the time to perfect this and share with everyone!!
Thank you ... you just saved me from buying a microwave bacon 🥓 gadget. I’ve been cooking my bacon in the microwave between paper towels. I like Roland Gadeu’s recommendation on adding liquid smoke.
That's awesome!! Thanks John for doing that experiment!! My wife loves bacon ,but doesn't like the fat on it or if it's not crispy! I'm sure she will love it this way🤗🤗
This method is right down her alley!!! Perfect for what you described... please let me know what she thought if you try it... thanks in advance and thanks for watching John!!!
Awesome. I used mine to air fry it and draped it over the rack. It was a pain. I never thought to pressure cook it first! Thanks so much, I'll be trying it later today!
I did try it with thick cut and got the same... not sure if all thick is that way and I honestly am not positive of the brand I used but it was not as crispy for sure... sorry about your results but thanks for trying it...
John, what a great idea, using pressure cooker. I'll have to try it next time I do bacon. I see you have my favorite mayo's....Blue Plate & Dukes!👍By the way, have you seen the new Ninja Foodi Smart XL Grill?
It is a pretty good idea for some really good bacon!!! And I use both of those mayo's quite often...i have saw the Grill and it looks neat... just kinda giving it some thought right now...thanks for watching!!!
After I do all he does then I will do several more batches. Each finished batch is put in a zip lock bag, vac packed and frozen. When we are ready to use it we just warm in the Foodi and eat it.
Great video I'm trying as I write. Been looking for this. Thank you, please make more. Tried it in instant pot duo crisp needed only 5 min more, mine was a little darker but not curling up like you. Thanks you saved me time.
Very interesting. My mom used to fry ham on the stove in shallow water in the pan. And I’ve seen other recommendations to do that with ham. So this seems to be down that same avenue, figuratively speaking. When you have bacon that crumbles that way, you could just mix it in your mayonnaise and spread it thickly over the bread. I personally like bacon cheeseburgers with lettuce and tomato. To make a BLT I have to leave off the cheese and the burger. So I don’t make that many BLTs.
I use the wire rack in the oven with thick cut bacon. 400 degrees for about 35 minutes ( your oven may need more or less time) and it turns out excellent and is perfect for a sandwich.
Thank you Gina... i ordered the stand from Amazon and it has the name Suptek on the base but I have had it for a year or 2...i really do like it though...thanks for watching!!!
I cook one pound of bacon for the family. If I crisp it in the oven after pressure cooking, how long and at what temp do you suggest.? Thanks for your helpful videos.
I think I did 375... but i wouldn't change what you normally do for the oven temp just pressure cook it first but the time will be shorter than normal so keep an eye on it... glad you enjoy the videos and thanks for watching!!!
Great idea for sandwhiches, burgers or anything you add bacon too so you can bite off chunks instead pulling the whole piece of bacon out first bite. Pan frying is for bacon breakfast, but I pan fry low n slow, so a whole pkg takes a long time. I bet if you stacked racks and pressure cooked the whole package at once then finished off either in air fryer or pan it would probably be the same amount of time and a nice looking product to boot.
Hey great idea, have very sensitive smoke alarms here; have done something similar using water to cook frozen sausage patties; going to try both in instapot for pressure cooking and finish in Ninja Foodi air fryer
I actually ordered it the day they made it available... but still have not received it... not sure about it yet and I think others will have it well explained before I get it... but thanks for asking...and thanks for watching!!!
I know it's being said that in a pan is easier, and it is, BUT I cook in a RV and using an air fryer eliminates all the grease from splattering all over the stove, walls, floors, and contains it in one pot. Yes I also cook outside, but sometimes you can't and then I can use the air fryer. Different reasons for different folks doing different stuff. It's all good.
Hey John! Two things I'd like to say about this subject. One... Black Label sometimes gives you thicker slices even with their "regular" packaged bacon. Not sure if that's a mistake or what. I wish this would happen more often because I really don't like super thin bacon. And two... this seems like an awful lot of work. Wouldn't it just be easier to fry the bacon up in a pan real quick?
Not sure about thickness inconsistency but I have not saw that and yes... the skillet is quicker but I have never got this crispiness from a skillet... honestly... but it is quicker and nothing wrong with that method... just not as good for certain things in my opinion...thanks for watching!!!
I'm going to give this a try. I use the thick cut bacon so it may not work as well, but this is on my list for this week. Couple of questions: 1. How often do you change the rubber gasket? 2. What is the best gloves for removing things from the Ninja? I have small hands so I've been searching and just haven't found what I need. Thank you John!
I probably don't change the gasket enough but I do mainly because I like to use different ones for different foods and I have color codes ones I got from Ninja...i like the mitts from Cuisinart or something similar...i think kitchen aid has some too... they are easy to keep handy and easily go on and off...i think one size does actually fit all pretty well... hope this helps and thanks for watching Cathy!!!
@@JohnSanders Thanks John! I just ordered replacement rings and the oven mitts from Cuisinart. My Ninja doesn't always want to go under pressure so I think the gasket is stretched. Heck I use it so much, it doesn't surprise me. Thanks again. Love your videos!

I just have a question John I love to watch your videos. So when you were cooking the bacon explaining how to cook it you mentioned cooking it on the triple work and pressure cooking it and then you could put it in the refrigerator and heat it up whenever you need it. So how would you heat it up what temperature air fryer and for how long?
I usually use my air frying oven to reheat but you could do it on any air Fryer on a lower temp setting to keep from coming out further and just check it frequently until it is the temp you want... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!
Hi John! My 3 year old LOVES bacon, I will be trying this method soon, I agree with what you said to another commenter, it looks like it would be healthier, you are rendering a lot of the fat off. I only use (and currently have) thick cut bacon. Would the pressure cooking time or air fryer time change because of the increased thickness?
