Love your videos, Jelly007. Lol
Glad this popped up in my feed. I’m making ribs today and was wondering how the IP air fryer would do for finishing them, instead of putting them under the broiler. This will free the oven up for onion rings.
Came out pretty well. I made a lot more than you did and actually could have cooked them longer for tenderness. Had to do one chunk in the oven but was happy with the job the fryer did on the others. Just need to sauce them more next time. Going to try the same thing with wings tomorrow. I’d hesitated but your video sold me on it.

Thanks to your thorough review showing the vent temperatures differences between the models, it was easy for me to make this choice. It was also $42 cheaper ($118 after tax) than the Ninja. If it breaks [from massive usage] I will get the very same one again. I love how I can dehydrate everything as well. With the plandemic, I have dehydrated nearly every veggie known to mankind. 10:15 John: That's probably how most people would do it. Me feeding a family of me, husband, and teenage son: Nope. 🤣 Thanks for the side by side comparison video. Very well done. Thanks
My opinion, they waited too long to develop a machine with an air crisp function. They were too busy developing 190 different Duo models. That said though, it was worth the wait cuz I love the Duo Crisp. Also It didn’t take them long to make a separate crisp lid for the 6 quarts, but if they’re smart they’d hurry up and develop a lid for the 8 quart owners
Great video. I’ve always been a fan of Nina products but the Insta Pot seems like its an awesome product too. I do like the fact that the Ninja lid stays on. Nice looking ribs. Thumbs up j007!!!
I just purchased the Instapot duo and haven't used it yet! I've been watching your vids this morning because I'm going to use it today for the first time....I'm just using the pressure cooker part today. This is All NEW to me! I have the crock pot and the Air Fryer separately but looks like I'll be able to give those both away from what I've been seeing from your vids today! So awesome to be able to WATCH you use this bc truthfully I'm a bit intimidated by this machine! Lol! I just subbed you and can't thank you enough for the tutorials....I'm excited and not so afraid to use my new machine today! Lol! ;)
LoL this video made me laugh SO MUCH! You are quite the card, sir. I can't wait to try making ribs in my cooker (I have an Instant Pot with Air-Fryer attachment)! Thanks for the recipe and the laughs! Makes me miss my grandpa (WWII vet, passed away in January 2018 rest his soul) LOVED to cook meat and was EXCELLENT at it! Taught me not to be afraid to experiment with flavors/concepts. Thank you for sharing! God bless you.
Hi, John . . . you have done an awesome job putting your review cookers through extensive testing. I love the enthusiasm you have for these great devices. I am so torn between the Ninja Foodi Deluxe 8 qt and the Instant Pot Duo Crisp 8 qt. Here are a couple of questions I have before buying: I. Can you tell me if I can set the Sous Vide in the Instant Pot Duo Crisp to 110 degrees? If so, I should be able to use this setting to incubate Yogurt for 8 or 10 hrs. . . . I'm afraid the lowest temp is higher than this, so your advice would be helpful. If I can get the Instant Pot Duo Crisp to 110 degrees, this will allow allow me to have a unit offering Sous Vide while being able to handle making Yogurt. 2. The Instant Pot has a stainless steel inner pot, while the Ninja Foodi has a non-stick ceramic-like coating. What is easier to care for, in your opinion -- I'm afraid the non-stick might not last, or retain prior cooking odors -- which would not taste great when making Yogurt. I will continue to enjoy your videos. Love the recipies and advice. Thanks for going to all the trouble . . . Ian
I will have to get back to you on the sous vide temp...I feel positive it will go to 110 but I am not positive so I need to check that when I get back home in a few days...if it is urgent I can have my kids check but I would feel better to verify myself....as far as the ceramic coating on the Ninja I have never had any problems with it and it cleans very easy...that being said...I think any pressure cooker your going to do delicate or certain recipes in needs to have at least one extra sealing ring...a different color of possible because the one you use in some savory recipes or something with say garlic needs to be used for that type dish only as it will pick up fairly strong odors...It is not a huge problem most of the time but it would be for yogurt...hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@JohnSanders Thanks so much for your quick and thoughtful reply. No need to rush and have the kids do the testing . . . when you have time, I would love to know if 110 degrees is a possibility for Yogurt. If you are able to confirm the 110 degrees, then the Instant Pot will be the choice! Good advise about getting rings of different colors to help identify them for specific cooking tasks. Thanks again . . . and safe travels home! Ian
I love this video. You're such a character 😁 your American accent made me smile. Such a good job on those ribs! I love my instant pots.. can't wait to try ribs now!
I just purchased my Instant Pot + Duo Crisp and am looking forward to making ribs in it. I prefer my ribs to be a bit smoky tasting. Would there be any concerns with adding maybe 1 tsp of liquid smoke to the beer for the pressure cooking cycle?
I don’t like cooking but the Ninja Foodi changerd how I eat food from now on. It makes everything suddenly become a pop in the foodi, wait, put the crisper lid on and wait again and bam! Awesome food that was way easer to make and aused me a whole lot less stress. I’m eating be4tter food than before, and it is the best thing since the microwave, I agree.
Depends on your needs... If you plan to store in a cabinet I like the instant pot but if you are going to leave on the counter I would say the ninja... thanks for watching!!!
I just bought the 8 Qt duo. I full can I fill the pot with ribs? You only put 3 in . Can I fill to the top of the line - stacked? I really like your videos. You describe every detail and are quite funny! Thanks for the humor in this day and time.
Very glad to hear you enjoy the channel... you will love the duo it does a very good job... you can pressure cook more ribs than I did but you just doubt need to stack them when air frying because the air won't be able to circulate and brown the ribs as well... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
One thing to note: always use a towel to open steam vent and let the towel buffer the up shooting steam. Winter time steam is great for the home, not the underside of cabinets. Summertime i cook and vent outdoors. Great comparison Video.
Yes and I think that is a good method for some recipes but any time I can use the basket I do because of the air flow design...I think the basket is designed for optimal air flow...thanks for watching!
Another awesome video by John Sanders! Everything you make looks awesome! Say, I got a quick question. Where do you buy that Louisiana Air Fry mix from? I've been looking at my local Ingles and they only have the regular mix.
I started cooking ribs in my preasure cooker and finishing them in the oven, and the results are amazing and all in 1 hour, 1 hour and a half top. If you cook them 32 minutes, they fell of the bones.
I really love ribs... and a pressure cooker is one of my favorite ways to cook them because you can change the outcome or the tenderness so easy with just a few minutes depending on the type of rib or whatever your in the mood for...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders I REALLY want the Duo Crisp, but they don't sell it here in Argentina. I check on Amazon UK (because 220v) and with shipping fees and custom taxes it was about 1.000.- dollars to get one.
Brilliant video. Thank you for comparing the two as I was really unsure about which one to get, but you got me when you said the IP does sous vide...STEAK ON!!!
Glad I helped but I did have a issue with sous vide on this unit... the Instant Pot DUO EVO PLUS did an excellent job... but the Duo crisp is a very nice unit otherwise... and that is my humble opinion...thanks for watching!!!
No big problems... wipe lids with damp dish rag... the liner on the Ninja is ceramic coated so I do like it better as far as cleaning... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
Great comparison video, John. So performance wise, both units seems like one cooks and air fries just as well as the other. Good to know! I think this new Insta Pot and the Grill are going to be the two new hottest items this Holiday Season. Not a bad price point on it either.
Thanks for the review. I'll stick with my Foodi though. It looks like the IP has a steel pot which can be a pain to clean. I've had 2 pressure cookers with them so I know. The Foodie cleans up fast which was a big yes to keeping it for me. I hate scrubbing a pot and with the Foodie I don't have to do that. It makes me want to cook more, lol.
@@keesaford8773 Elle Ford I still wouldn't switch my Ninja Foodi for it. I saw another review from someone on it going over the differences between the two. The IP seems to slide all over the counter when trying to get the lid off of it plus I like that the Foodi's lid is attached. I could see me going to get the lid off and having the IP go sliding off my counter, lol. It's just what I prefer though. The Ninja just seems to be easier to use for me that is. Plus I don't have a lot of counter space and having to have an actual thing to set the lid on for the IP wouldn't work for me.
@@youcanstickit The IP has a slot the lid is set on the handle, liquids from the lid drains into a small removable reservoir. I have 3 IP, and have never had any of them slide around including the mini 3 qt which is much lighter. I do not have the air fryer one yet.....but think I'll try the Ninja.
Good evening John, have you ever consider making bbq pork belly burnt ends with the Ninja Foodi deluxe or Duo Crisp? Would you mind providing any advice?
John, I can't find your country ribs cooked in the ninja deluxe you talked about in your video with the ninja indoor grill. I wanted to see the comparison between the two. I know it's an older video and they have newer models for both now, but which do you prefer? BTW, just bought a ninja indoor grill after watching a couple of your videos on it. Thanks.
I'm late to the game seeing this, but I found your videos looking for info on the Duo Crisp. I have a crockpot express and was looking for an upgrade. after seeing you compare the pro to the duo(sou vide) and this... you have gained a subscriber (for whatever that's worth)
Hey John --- I enjoyed your video. Came here trying to pick which one of these 2 to buy. Your review did not help with that, since you said they're both pretty awesome. But, I enjoyed your personality, and recipe... So... I guess once I do decide which one to get, I'll have to come back here. Some of the reviews on Amazon said the Foodi does the best air frying, better than some standalone air fryers..... And Sous-vide sounds kind of cool too, since I do enjoy a lot of meat. Though- I see you have another video on them - let's see if that helps me with the decision. :) You've got a new subscriber.
Thanks Ori...I find they both do an excellent job... the sous vide on the other hand...I found to be lacking in this particular model...I have a video on the Duo Evo plus instant Pot... the sous vide on it is much better as its the Ninja deluxe model... hope this helps and thank you very much for subscribing!!!
That's a hard call...they both make excellent ribs but the pressure cooker ribs do have a different texture...I might lean to these but take my word...they are both great...thanks for watching!
I use a cup of water and a half a cup of vinegar...i have put a link below of that video of you would like to watch it. And Thanks for watching this one!! ruclips.net/video/JWIepkIlEFc/видео.html
MrMigraine Try cooking in cola (full sugar, not diet!) it's slightly acidic, so works like vinegar, but also adds flavour that goes well with anything BBQ.
Couple of Questions ? 1) Is the Foodi Inner Pot Aluminum (ceramic coated) or is it 100% Ceramic ? 2) What is your Watch ? Is that a Galaxy Watch Active 2 or some type of Android Wear ? 3) Does the Foodi Deluxe have a Yogurt Feature? It looks like Instant dropped Yogurt in favor of Sous Vide. Interesting decision being that yogurt has been a standard feature even on the most basic Duo Models. 4) I notice that both of these units as well as your Air Fryers all have Broil, Roast & Bake .....but with only a single top element (which is normally associated with broiling ) what is the difference between roast, bake & broil in all these devices ! Thanks
@@JohnSanders Thanks I think it is disappointing that the Instant Duo Crisp lost the Yogurt Feature. Also what is the difference between Broil, Bake & Roast on these Air Fryerrs? They all only have a Top Element (like a broiler) so how do you bake with no bottom element as you normally would in a oven? And how would Roast differ from either Bake or Broil?
Nice demo, John! I guess it comes down to air fryer lid attached, or not attached - and whether you prefer ceramic or stainless steel pots, plus some other stuff if you want to get into micro-detail. Yum!! Save some for me!
If you mean during the air crisping time it is because i really like the air frying basket for browning... but I'm sure the rack would work well also...thanks for watching!!!
Does the non.stick coating last on the Ninja foodi deluxe ? Because non.stick coating peels off in time , how long has yours last? . Which device is your favourite device as well ?
The coating on the foodi is excellent in my opinion...i have had not had any issues with any of mine...i think they are very comparable and pretty much depends on lid design a person needs... that is my opinion and others may feel different...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSandersThank you with feed back about the non, stick coating because that is very important and is a concern when buying , hey I seen a new model design for instant pot Duo that is similar style as ninja foodi deluxe, as it can stay on. Have you seen ?
Great Video! In France don't get latest models till later. Point for me, I love the idea that you can make for 2 or 3. Being a cook and married to a French chef, I lays cook loads, to freeze, or for when my 4 daughters come over with family. In which case, making ribs for loads (and freezing) is quicker traditional way. I am hesitating between the two newer models of both. How is the non stick on the Ninja? I like stainless steel, as I 'think' you can brown on the hob first? And maybe longer lasting?
And then during clean-up, one realizes that the Ninja has ceramic coating which makes cleaning up much better than the InstaPot's stainless steel. As he scrubs away the InstPot..... who won?
The Instant pot is not hard to clean, you can put some white vinegar, some baking soda, couple drops of soap, and some water, and then pressure cook the liquid. Bam now your inner pot is clean, your LID is clean, and you just cleaned all the valves at once as well when you released the pressure and allowed the solution to pass through it. All in one step. Then you just dry it all, remove the sealing ring and store it away till next time.
Depends on your needs... If you plan to store in a cabinet I like the instant pot but if you are going to leave on the counter I would say the ninja... thanks for watching!!!
I have heard that and I do agree to a point... not sure it is as drastic a difference in the final product as it is made out to be and time is a big factor in a lot of people's cooking... but I am not saying it does not make a difference...I just think it is very minimal... maybe not worth the time it takes... but that is just my opinion and I even do it when I am in no hurry at all...I do get the theory and it does make sense... thanks for watching!!!
Thank you for the excellent review!! 👏 I wonder if the Ninja non-stick inner pot is suitable for the Instant pot. Can you tell me, please? Thanks from Spain! 🇪🇸
Hi I'm from the UK and I'm going to buy one or another, please can you let me which one is the easiest to clean? Love watching your demonstrations as you always go into a lot more details.

I’ve heard you can fit the instant pot lid right in the handle slot when you lift it. Similar to the way the ninja is sideways except you can remove it completely. I think I would like that for cleaning. Does the ninja lid remove completely
I’m used to it now, but the Ninja air fryer lid does get in the way of cupboards above and I have my Ninja on the edge of my counter space. I also have the Instant Pot Ultra and I use the side holder for the lid all the time.

I don’t know if there was any benefit of using the air fryer container within the Instant pot. It is my understanding that it is not necessary all the time. It’s just one more thing to clean. Am I wrong?
I just bought an Instant Pot Max 9 in 1 but I will be looking at a Breville Smart Oven Air Frying toaster oven for jobs like this. I bought my Instant Pot Max to try out Sous Vide cooking in vacuum tight bags, sterilization of jars and canning along with the normal multi pressure cooker functions.
Hey man just a heads up, no current electronic pressure cooker is safe for canning as far as I'm aware; they simply don't reach a high enough pressure. Hope this saves you some trouble!

What aspects do you feel the Instant Pot is trying to catch up on?
My opinion, they waited too long to develop a machine with an air crisp function. They were too busy developing 190 different Duo models. That said though, it was worth the wait cuz I love the Duo Crisp. Also It didn’t take them long to make a separate crisp lid for the 6 quarts, but if they’re smart they’d hurry up and develop a lid for the 8 quart owners
You have a point... thanks for watching!!!
Great job. Just a little FYI, the pressure lid on the instant pot sits on the side of the pot like the ninja pot. Try it.
I have done that... it works really well...thanks and thanks for watching!!!
Great video. I’ve always been a fan of Nina products but the Insta Pot seems like its an awesome product too. I do like the fact that the Ninja lid stays on. Nice looking ribs. Thumbs up j007!!!
Thanks and I think the lid design will be the deciding factor for many people...thanks for watching!
Lol! ;)
Welcome aboard... glad I was able to help its it's a great device and you will love it!!!
Thanks for sharing that... sounds like me and your grandpa could have hung out!!! Thank you for watching!!!
I love (1) your passion for cooking and (2) your passion for honesty/fairness. Great watching.
Thanks Jerry... I'm glad to have you aboard!!!
Well done, John... I don't mind the extra talking - it adds 'flavor' to the video!
Thanks Buzz... glad I don't get on everybody's nerves...lol... thanks for watching and good bless!!!
I dont eat meat. To each it's own, but I could listen to him all day. Plus I'm trying to see if the lid works, so I can can save space.
Thank you and I hope this helped...thanks for watching!!!
So difficult to find a instruction video how to cook veggies.
Most of the videos are all about meat.
Veggies are very delicate and you will need very little time on most of them...i do have some but not many just veggies...thanks for watching!!!
Hi, John . . . you have done an awesome job putting your review cookers through extensive testing. I love the enthusiasm you have for these great devices.
I am so torn between the Ninja Foodi Deluxe 8 qt and the Instant Pot Duo Crisp 8 qt. Here are a couple of questions I have before buying:
Ian
Great video John!! I'll be sticking with my Ninja Foodi XL Deluxe!!
I think they are virtually the same product and the recipes will interchange...thanks for watching!
I love this video. You're such a character 😁 your American accent made me smile. Such a good job on those ribs! I love my instant pots.. can't wait to try ribs now!
great to see you back on the pressure cookers Jelly cannot wait for some more recipes....even though i will stick to my 6.5 Ninja Foodi
Thanks John and I feel positive all recipes will be interchangeable...thanks for watching!

It really is a great device...thanks for watching!!!
i’m having a really hard time choosing one! Which one do you prefer to use?
Depends on your needs... If you plan to store in a cabinet I like the instant pot but if you are going to leave on the counter I would say the ninja... thanks for watching!!!
John Sanders ok! Thanks for your reply!
@@JohnSanders so you are saying by not saying directly. Ninja is better 😊😊
Lol...I really do like them both and they are different in some ways that might be the only deciding factor...thanks for watching!!!
Thank you I have just brought the instant pot and cooked a chicken it's brilliant so tasty and moist not dry .
I just bought an instant pot Duo crisp thank you chief
You are welcome...Thank you for watching the video!!!
One thing to note: always use a towel to open steam vent and let the towel buffer the up shooting steam.
Winter time steam is great for the home, not the underside of cabinets. Summertime i cook and vent outdoors.
Great comparison Video.
Thanks... glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!!!
Thanks for your video. Did you try the dehydration function in both? If so which one is better?
Sorry...I have not used the dehydrator on either one... thanks for watching!!!
OMG I use the Pam Avocado oil too! I love your videos!
Thank you...and thanks for watching!!!
Question... Couldn't you air crisp on the rack? Great video. Thanks!!
I found some at my local Wal-Mart lately but I ordered the ones I used from Louisiana's website...thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!!
Glad to hear you will do an instant pot sous vide video! Looking forward to it!
I'm working on that...hopefully soon...thanks for watching!
Wow...
This is one of the most entertaining demos I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
That is really good to hear!!! Thank you for watching!!!
Aw, you made me hungry and reminded me of my Dad so much (who's name is also John hahaha!)
That is good to hear... he must be a good guy...lol...thanks for watching!!!
How did cleanup compare between the 2? Including cleaning the lids?
No big problems... wipe lids with damp dish rag... the liner on the Ninja is ceramic coated so I do like it better as far as cleaning... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
Great comparison video, John.
So performance wise, both units seems like one cooks and air fries just as well as the other. Good to know! I think this new Insta Pot and the Grill are going to be the two new hottest items this Holiday Season. Not a bad price point on it either.
I totally agree Dave...I think these two items might be hard to find around Christmas time...thanks for watching!
Hi i wanted to know if possible to do other
Recipes in duo chrisp. Hard to find others are using other models. Thank you for sharing
I hope to have more but just about any ninja Foodi recipe will work...thanks for watching!!!
I agree about the pot...I love the ceramic coating...thanks for watching!
Instant pot has a non stick pot you can purchase separately. I found it on Amazon and at kohl's while looking for a 2nd pot.
Thanks...and thanks for watching!
Hi, great video. Can you cook meat from frozen?
Yes..one of the best things these devices do...thanks for watching!
great job!! bravo for your patience!!!
Thanks...and thank you for watching!!!
Ha! You are on it John! Thanks for the comparisons!
Your welcome...Thank you for watching!
I'm looking to buy me one. Which one do y'all recommend??? Im leaning more to the Instant pot 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️Help me plssss ..
I think it really comes down to which lid design works best for your situation but I how others come in on this too...thanks for watching!!!

Good evening John, have you ever consider making bbq pork belly burnt ends with the Ninja Foodi deluxe or Duo Crisp? Would you mind providing any advice?
what brand watch are you wearing?
It is a Samsung active watch 2...i love it and thanks for watching!!!
John, we did the ribs for Christmas dinner in the Ninja Foodi. They turned out great!! We love your videos!
Thank you Kimberly...glad to hear that and thank you for posting your results...and I love y'all watching my videos!!!
Thanks.
I agree. I use beer all time in cooking my ribs or pulled pork. and orange juice. i use a darker beer or blue moon beer
Those work excellent too...thanks for watching!
Thank you John, for making great videos! Do these ribs taste better than the ones that you made with the Ninja Foodie Grill?
That's a hard call...they both make excellent ribs but the pressure cooker ribs do have a different texture...I might lean to these but take my word...they are both great...thanks for watching!

Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks
It is a ceramic coating and the watch is the Samsung Galaxy active 2...thanks for watching!
The foodi deluxe does have a yogurt feature...
@@paulloren66 good question...I think some of them change feel speed but other than that I'm not sure what the differences could be...thanks again!!!
Thanks for showing me how to make great ribs. Your energy makes me anxious...LOL. Keep up the good work.
Nice demo, John! I guess it comes down to air fryer lid attached, or not attached - and whether you prefer ceramic or stainless steel pots, plus some other stuff if you want to get into micro-detail. Yum!! Save some for me!
I agree...other than sous vide option and a small diameter difference they are very similar in function...thanks for watching!
@@JohnSanders the Instant Pot Duo Crisp appears to be the -slightly- smaller of the two, if I'm not mistaken.

Whut's that round thing on his wrist with the timer?
That is a Samsung galaxy Watch... very handy...thanks for watching!!!
Does ninja foodi have set delay/time feature? Because i wanna put frozen chicken brests at night and make them cooked when i wake up
Is this 6 or 8 quarts IP?
Why didn't you use the double rack from the ninja?
Glad you enjoyed the video and I really like Ninja's nonstick... it seems very durable and works really well...thanks for watching!!!
Love the video John, thank you. I think I will order the Ninja today. But the ribs from both were Looking delicious.
They both do a really good job... hope I helped and glad you enjoyed the video...thanks for watching!!!
And then during clean-up, one realizes that the Ninja has ceramic coating which makes cleaning up much better than the InstaPot's stainless steel.
As he scrubs away the InstPot..... who won?
I do love the ceramic coating...thanks for watching!!!
Just like the grill , coat with lite oil and wipe before the cook. Add fresh water and soap-3 min sauté-all good.
Also much more healthy than Teflon type coatings
The Instant pot is not hard to clean, you can put some white vinegar, some baking soda, couple drops of soap, and some water, and then pressure cook the liquid. Bam now your inner pot is clean, your LID is clean, and you just cleaned all the valves at once as well when you released the pressure and allowed the solution to pass through it. All in one step. Then you just dry it all, remove the sealing ring and store it away till next time.
You can purchase a ceramic coated insert for the IP on Amazon. I love having that extra insert.
Which one would you recommend if the two?
Depends on your needs... If you plan to store in a cabinet I like the instant pot but if you are going to leave on the counter I would say the ninja... thanks for watching!!!
Instant pot is stainless steel ninja is not.
How was cleanup on both?
The Ninja has a ceramic coating that I do really like but they are both easy to clean... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
Is the insta pot stainless steel inside?
Would I be able to put Ninja Foodie liner pot inside the insta pot..?! I just wanted a non stick liner..
No... they are not interchangeable...thanks for watching!!!
Why the quick release so soon? I usually let my natural release - so it doesn't pull the moisture out of the meat.
We did them fo New Year’s Day...they were better than expected.
