Oh wow - I remember seeing these old clips on TV as a child. In fact, the very first French words I learned to say were 'Mireille Mathieu' ! Brings back happy memories of those times, and I loved hearing Mireille sing. I have retained my passion for world music to this day.
My mother loved these two, and Edith Piaf. She had their albums. I'm English and we lived in the north of England, but she loved everything French, hence my name, our dog's name was Suzette, I was quite good at French by the time I started school due to listening to all these great singers. I've never been taught French, but strangely, I can get by and understand it without ever having a lesson. Odd. RIP Mum gone too young aged 32. I will never forget you.

comicmania2008 " Un homme et une femme" or in English "A man and a woman". The original is from Nicole Croisille and Pierre Barouh. The music is from Francis Lai. But I think there is no English version by Sacha Distel.
@@norbertkale853 Many thanks for the reply, I checked out the other original version, but I always liked Mimi and Sasha singing this, I think I saw it on UK TV when I was about 6, it's a huge favourite of mine, must have watched this clip 50 times. Probably wouldn't sound right sung in English anyway.
