One thing I love about Hans being the villain is how it’s actually quite accurate in representing how people end up in abusive relationships. From the start, the abuser acts charming and perfect, targeting people who they know are vulnerable, and pretends to be the perfect partner for that vulnerable individual. As they gain trust, they start showing their true colors while isolating their victim, all the while manipulating and blaming them for any abuse that occurs. From an abuse survivor, watching this movie and tangled was actually quite emotional since it represented abusive relationships very well. Love these movies❤️

I'm not gonna pretend like I don't love this movie cause I do but after many times rewatching both this and Tangled I can definitively say Tangled is better.
I like the theory of Hans being a mirror. When he first met Anna he was very nice and even smiled after she was gone (like he had an instant crush just like she did). Now it would make sense *afterwards* that he immediately wants to marry her because of the throne etc but when he was walking around and giving blankets he was being nice, just like when she asked him to stay behind. But as soon as Weasle talked to him fiercely his demeanor immediately changed to match it. When they went to the castle he actually didn't act badly, he tried to save Elsa. He was nice up until when Anna was freezing and his personality changed to cold too. There's a tale that a magic mirror broke and fell onto earth, shards becoming humans. So it makes sense.
I really love this film. It’s a shame that when something grows popular, all of a sudden there’s all kinds of hate towards it because I think this is a great film.

I grew up watching Nani be an actual big sister for Lilo in Lilo and Stitch. As a kid, I never understood why Cobra Bubbles had to take Lilo away. As an adult, I realize that their family suffered a big loss not depicted onscreen but audiences still felt the realism from that.

I like Frozen better. I was forced to grow my hair long as a child cuz I grew up in a cult that said if women/girls cut their hair they'll go to hell. You'd think that'd make me relate to Tangled more but it's just ok in my book. The over-the-top dorky comedy made it kinda meh and the songs are better in Frozen. I like Frozen more than Tangled, because I have a sister myself and I like the 'darker' story/drama. Also the soundtrack, and Kristoff is great! (I love Flynn, don't worry. I just have a soft spot for cute blonds). Tangled is plenty dark, of course, Frozen simply has a vibe I like more.

Frozen 2 is one of the best Disney Movies I've ever seen, Princesses never change because they become to iconic, however in nr 2 their character arc is incredible and every song tells that story so beautifully!
Personally, I don't think the twist in Frozen is fair to the viewer. Until that moment, Hans legitimately seems like he cares about Anna. Even on rewatching, there are no scenes where his nefariousness is hinted at. This isn't like Sixth Sense, where when you rewatch it, you see a bunch of things you didn't notice the first time around which point to the twist. Frozen has (in my judgment) none of that, which is why in my opinion it doesn't play fair.
There's an interesting fan theory that the rock trolls had something to do with it. Certain actions don't fit in with his plan, like saving Elsa's life from the crossbow. The sudden turn doesn't happen chronologically until after the Fixer-Upper song where the trolls, who have been shown to have actual magic and the ability to manipulate minds in some way, explicitly say to get the fiance out of the way.
wow comparing a Disney movie made for girls with sixth sense! If you watch the song Life is an open door he's actually pointing at the castle when talking about dreams and so on. When he raised the crossbow in the air he already saw it b beforehand a few songs ago. Give it up man.
@@swaswj414 the thing with the crossbow . . . Hans actually looks up (at the chandelier) for a split second before redirecting the crossbow. So, it makes sense in a "Hans trying to kill Elsa while making it look like an accident" kind of way. But yeah, there's not really any warning or foreshadowing. Some people have suggested that when the trolls sang "Get the fiance out of the way," because they're magical, it was like a spell that turned Hans evil from that point on. Idk, it's fun to theorize.
definitely should check out the sequel, some ppl like to say it's trash but I think both are equally great and give me goosebumps. the sequel i think is a bit more mature and doesn't have as iconic catchy disney tunes but it's heartwarming and the visuals are amazing. definitely worth watching
It definitely is more heartwarming and the visuals are beautiful, but the plot could’ve had more work onto it. The deleted scenes were much more interesting.
I also would have preferred more of a focus on Anna and Elsa's relationship than Anna and all of the men in her life. Elsa was kind of shelved in this movie because of that.
It was established early in the film that Anna is overly protective of Elsa, almost at the expense of her relationship with Kristoff. So that is the beginning of Anna's story arc and essentially what the sister story is this time. Each had their own journey. Elsa's story is more internal and solitary as she tries to find out who she is how she got her powers. I don't believe Elsa was shelved, she just had a different journey. Regarding Anna's men, I don't feel this was an overdone element. Kristoff was less critical to the story this time but was there for Anna when it was important. Perhaps not the greatest arc for Kristoff, but the writers had to give him something to do therefore his proposal storyline. Liutenant Mattias from the forest develops a rapport with Anna. She requires his help later with the dam, and it appears he could become her military advisor as queen. So that friendship needed to be established. Hans the ice memory is a brief humorous moment, and Elsa eliminates him quickly. Anna had to show more growth in her story because she would become queen at the end and needed to show that she was capable of doing the job. Plus she had to learn to accept that she and Elsa now had new responsibilities and needed to live separate lives although not far away from each other.

I thought your comment actually was regarding Frozen II though because it felt like your criticism was that there wasn't enough sister relationship story in Frozen II. I feel the original Frozen WAS about their relationship, and it seemed like the story of the sisters was pretty balanced. In Frozen the men (other than her father) in Anna's life were people that she had just met that day, hardly long enough to be considered relationships initially until later.

@@swaswj414 the thing with the crossbow . . . Hans actually looks up (at the chandelier) for a split second before redirecting the crossbow. So, it makes sense in a "Hans trying to kill Elsa while making it look like an accident" kind of way.
But yeah, there's not really any warning or foreshadowing. Some people have suggested that when the trolls sang "Get the fiance out of the way," because they're magical, it was like a spell that turned Hans evil from that point on. Idk, it's fun to theorize.

definitely should check out the sequel, some ppl like to say it's trash but I think both are equally great and give me goosebumps. the sequel i think is a bit more mature and doesn't have as iconic catchy disney tunes but it's heartwarming and the visuals are amazing. definitely worth watching
It definitely is more heartwarming and the visuals are beautiful, but the plot could’ve had more work onto it. The deleted scenes were much more interesting.

I also would have preferred more of a focus on Anna and Elsa's relationship than Anna and all of the men in her life. Elsa was kind of shelved in this movie because of that.
It was established early in the film that Anna is overly protective of Elsa, almost at the expense of her relationship with Kristoff. So that is the beginning of Anna's story arc and essentially what the sister story is this time. Each had their own journey. Elsa's story is more internal and solitary as she tries to find out who she is how she got her powers. I don't believe Elsa was shelved, she just had a different journey.
Regarding Anna's men, I don't feel this was an overdone element. Kristoff was less critical to the story this time but was there for Anna when it was important. Perhaps not the greatest arc for Kristoff, but the writers had to give him something to do therefore his proposal storyline.
Liutenant Mattias from the forest develops a rapport with Anna. She requires his help later with the dam, and it appears he could become her military advisor as queen. So that friendship needed to be established.
Hans the ice memory is a brief humorous moment, and Elsa eliminates him quickly.
Anna had to show more growth in her story because she would become queen at the end and needed to show that she was capable of doing the job. Plus she had to learn to accept that she and Elsa now had new responsibilities and needed to live separate lives although not far away from each other.

I thought your comment actually was regarding Frozen II though because it felt like your criticism was that there wasn't enough sister relationship story in Frozen II. I feel the original Frozen WAS about their relationship, and it seemed like the story of the sisters was pretty balanced. In Frozen the men (other than her father) in Anna's life were people that she had just met that day, hardly long enough to be considered relationships initially until later.
