DJI Smart Controller | How To Move & Transfer Media to SD Card

In this video, I show you how you can easily transfer media both videos and photos from the internal storage of the DJI Smart Controller to a Micro SD Card via the SD card slot on the back of the controller. Just like the lastest DJI drones, the Smart Controller has 8 GB of built-in internal storage, as well as a micro SD Card slot on the back. There will be times when you need to transfer media to the SD card so you can easily transfer the content to a computer if needed. This also comes in handy if you capture a lot of screen recordings with the DJI Smart Controller.

I just crashed my mini pro 3, and I couldn't get it back. I'm trying to at least download the low res footage on the RC controller, but this version doesn´t seem to have this menu you show. Any suggestion on how I could get those files out of the RC controller?

hanks for your help. Mac Eco system here to, and like you, no love with a bluetooth transfer, but I can't seem to find anyone discussing how to transfer the video clips that the DJI Smart Controller will render from their series of included pallets creating the different styles of clips from one's video with their Sounds and or Music already encoded depending upon which style you choose. The MPG4 transfer beautifully over to my Mac desktop with NO sound that the Controller created. Can this be done?

Just move to the micro sd card you insert into the smart controller and then download micro sd card with a card reader easier to me.

If I want to transfer photos and videos to Facebook or RUclips from my Smart Controller, is it best for the internal storage to capture these and then transfer to the SD card later? (I am assuming the SD card is installed into the Smart Controller.) If I store on the SD card instead instead of the internal storage, can I share from the SD card to Facebook or RUclips without removing the SD card from the smart controller? Please help if you can. I am very confused as to what to do. Some say put the SD card only in the aircraft. And some say to only put the SD card in the Smart Controller. And even some say to put a SD card in both the aircraft and Smart Controller. I would appreciate any help.

Hi. I'm fairly new to using drones and I went to film only using the internal memory on the Smart Controller. I read after that the recordings are only the cache (lower quality) versions - and that I'll need to record onto an SD card, is this correct? Or does it record high resolution?

I'm totally confused. There are files showing up on the smart controller but I can't find them searching the controller while connected to my computer. The whole logic of where files are stored is confusing. I can't get some of the videos through the "coding" thing where it smoothes it out. Do I put the file into the "100 Media" folder on the aircraft's SD card and then download it to get it to do that coding thing where it fixes the jumpy parts of the video? We need to know how to use the editor on the smart controller and how to get things in and out of certain folders. It is all so jumbled and confusing.

I was able to transfer footage from internal to micro but can't get footage from micro when plugged into a micro sd adapter into a drive that's plugged into my mac :(

I just spent $300 on sd cards on New Egg because of this chic in the red.
This doesn't work for me. I failed to properly insert the SD card in the drone last night; the smart controller did not notify me until the flight was nearly over; asked me something like "no SD card, do you want to use internal memory", I clicked yes. No images on the card at all and the sc only has the last four shots; there are 74 images in the cache which I want to transfer to my Mac laptop. I follow your instructions carefully, but when I move the SD card from the sc to my laptop, there are no new images on the SD card. Help.
I seem to have been able to move the images to the SD card, however, the computer cannot find them. They must be on the SC card because the sc now says the cache is empty, but if I insert the SD card back into the SC, the images show up. So they seem to be on the card, but LightRoom cannot find them. Tried to copy them from the SD card to the internal SC memory but that did not work.
I can see my RAW files on the smart controller but can't locate them to move to the computer. Where are the hiding? Thanks, Bill

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to switch default storage to micro sd card for my Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced. I am baffled. Help?
I’m not sure about the smart controller. I don’t own it anymore and I can’t recall. However if it’s like the new RC pro unfortunately there’s no way to do that. It Hass to go to the internal memory first and then you have to manually switch it to the card. It’s a real pain hopefully DJI changes this.

Easiest way to transfer from sd to another. Plug a sad card reader into the usb slot up top, then simply transfer from the sd slot to the sd card reader that’s plugged in.
why would you waste all that time... just make C1 or C2 button the playback function and push it, it'll bring up all your internal footage. Then push the select option and select all the videos and screenshots the push the download option. Takes a little while but they'll definitely be on the sd card after. Then pop that sd card into your computer and open the DJI folder, then open the dji.go.v4 folder, then the DJI Album folder and there you'll see your videos and pictures. *****important***** But when you record straight to the sd card the last folder won't have the internal storage footage, so instead of opening the DJI Album folder last you would open the DJI_RECORD folder and there you'll see all the footage from your sd card.

Smart controller Android sucks. SO annoying....why can’t u simply plug it into your computer and mount it as a drive DJI? Not a fan of smart controller purchase at all.
