I ordered and received the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom Smart controller. It came in OK. I watched numerous videos about unboxing and setting up of the controller. In these videos included in the controller box was USB-C cable and a charging adapter. There wasn’t a charging adapter included in my order, just the USB-C cable.
Thanks for video. One thing You are only accessing the helpful drone apps via WiFi so out in the field you’d have to tether to phone still to make use of them where/when needed
Setting the "Return to Home" point with the DJI Smart controller is restricted to the launch point only. Which is a huge problem if you want to launch your drone from, say, a moving boat! I can't understand why DJI left this feature off. I often set my RTH point to the actual hand set because it allows me to move location and still bring my drone back to me.
My new Mavic 2 zoom smart controller works great. One thing is that the screen goes dark in a few minutes when you are out of the DJI Go4 App. I went into the settings to change the time of the screen going to sleep but never found anything. Any suggestions?

On my controller screen with map at full screen I can only see details when I touch it with my finger. Until I touch the screen the display is yellow with little detail. I’m sure it hasn’t always been like this. What am I now doing wrong, please?
For those that want an all in one the remote looks like a good option. Personally I still prefer the original remote with an iPad Mini. There are times that I just want to use it with a phone or as a standalone controller. Also not sure about how many bugs you will face using the device. DJI develops their apps on IOS and ports them to Andriod. They have been traditionally late in pushing out Andriod updates. Another reason I will stick with the iPad / iPhone and IOS for now.
No play store, so what did you use, apk files? Is the thing rooted? How did you root it? I don't think this thing comes with Play Store, and I don't know if the controller part can control a homebrew quad through the DJI FPV digital air unit... I'm not even sure if it can receive that 50mbs kind of digital video even... very unclear on their website... so those are kind of deal breakers.
Good question. He never actually addresses this. I cannot figure out how to get the Google Play store on my smart controller. I have to use the DJI Pilot app with my Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual. Argh.

If I get it right, you can install other apps on the controller. Using telegram is really simple to get photos from one device to another, even if it's from Android to iOS. I have no idea if it works on this controller but you could give it a try. Sorry for the 2 years late reply :D
That's how I understand it, yes. But videos and photos that get directly stored on the controller don't have original quality. It can look much worse on the controller.
Hey a... Have you tried Live Streaming yet? RUclips says you need 1000 subs to even test live streaming drone footage set to “invite only”. I have not attempted the FB option, and the “Other” option, I don’t think is working... EDIT: And dude! Thanks for decreasing the time involved in my learning curve, and for making me sneer at my current weather conditions at the same time.⛈🌬🌊☔️
Yeah that is what I am flustered about. I almost enjoy using my iPhone more because I have the LTE connection always there to use....my smart controller I have to use iPhone as a hot spot? Not sure if I am going to keep this guy or swap out for the other one with regular remote.
The only thing i DONT like about this remote, is that there is no WARNING meter to show you how far you can fly before losing reception. It will just completely lose reception and lose total control of aircraft without any warning at all and you worry the entire time wondering when it will drop signal.
The best way is to use the Amazon App Store, simply search amazon app store on google and you’ll see it. From there you can search for the app you’re looking for and easily install it
Hey Mike, will this work in all DJI Drones? what if mavic air, that's wifi and this remote says ocusync, will it convert the cignal from wifi to ocusync?

You can search the "Amazon store" via the web browser, there you can see the UAV Forecast app :)

No, this only works with the Mavic 2 series for now, unfortunately Spark/Mavic Air won’t connect to the Smart Remote
