The main reason I think sarah's death works so well is how vividly you see her die. She doesnt just fall over or blink away with life. You see her squeak and whimper in graphic detail as Joel tries to help her.
Danskyl7 Not if one had seen it so many times and has been desensitized to it. One doesn't cry then and yet, they are still human... and just need a new traumatizing incident to cry over. Like the child beating or concentration camps in Detroit: Become Human to name a few of many from that game.
I have to admit I go through youtube to see peoples reaction to the intro to the game and yours happens to be the most heartbreaking your reaction actually made me cry. The intro always gets me but with your reaction to it on top I balled like a baby!
Tbh I don't think it is think how crazy and panicked the world would be and people would be starting fires and losing there minds which would spread an infection quicker also many people would be getting killed criminals and everything would be on the loose it would be terrible
Left behind is so GOOD! The last of us is such a beautiful story with so many lessons and themes. This is such an Amazing game, so really pay attention.
Holy Shit, i cry so much again and again about this famous first scene . When the game came out, i was astonished about how early ps4 could propose us great emotionnal video games like this ...
When you pass in the checkpoint, the fireflies attack. You then do a quick turn move. I swear that no other youtuber has ever used that in the game. *EVER*
"Why is it when a zombie apocalypse breaks out, the first thing people want to do is smash...t.v.s?" LMAO, I really shouldnt project my own sense of humor for Suzzy's excellent observation but that delivery is too good.
I've played this game enough and watched enough gameplays of it that the first 20 minutes doesn't get me choked up like it used to, but seeing you get emotional made me emotional again agh. This game really knows how to get to your emotions, its so good.
One of the best intro to any game to this date . This is one of the first game I dropt some tears to.. No other game is even close to give me so much emotions and cares about the characters as this game ... Thx for this playthrough Suzy ... Let em coming ;)
5:21 I'm blind in my left eye as well! I was born with congenital cataracts and glaucoma. I've followed you and Sttejo's channel since you started GoT and NEVER knew that about you!
Really glad u playing this. One of my all time favorites. Love your emotion while playing it's one of the reasons why I follow u. Thanks for doing what u do.
They made us start the game as Sarah so we'd have some emotional attachment when she died. I think that's exactly why they'll make us start part 2 as Anna. Ellie's Mom.
Welcome Suzy, this game has tons of heart-wrenching cut scenes up ahead 😭. I am glad i played this masterpiece, for me Resident Evil is irreplaceable but this game is really something, well done Naughty Dog
I finished this for the first time a week ago! You’ll love it (unless you’re playing on Survivor which will make you want to smash your controller up!)
I had the hardest time getting into this game because I insisted on playing on grounded while trying to kill every enemy. Recently got a sweet 4k tv and a PS4 Pro so figured I'd fire this game up to see what it looks like (its AMAZING). This time I dropped down to survivor and it is a perfect experience. I learned finally that I have to be smart about every encounter and not just try to kill everything. Sometimes its best to sneak past enemies or run. Problem is I was trying to play it like most Resident Evils. After I finish it I'm gonna take on grounded now that I finally understand how the game is supposed to be played.
It’s never too late to experience this masterpiece of a game, Miss. Lu. Definitely worth doing a full run. Plus once you get started you’ll want to do one anyway.
When I myself was playing the game (thirty-five-year-old electrician), I sobbed worse than Vsevolod Kuznetsov (he voices Joel in our Russian localization), and now once again I let out a tear. (while waiting for the second part, I decided to refresh my emotions)
Suzy Lu, do you know anything about PS4 Pro 4K HDR mode? It scales games up to 60fps but there is always pretty severe screen tearing during frame drops. I mean do you know if this is normal?
I’ve never owned a PS or at least never played one since I was like, a toddler, so when she refers to the buttons on the controller, I’m like, “wait, what?”
Love your channel, have the tissues ready for a roller coaster emotion ride if this is your first time playing in my opinion what is the best game ever made. I cried multiple times during this game, and after seeing you play "The Last Guardian" I too had the waterworks going at the end.
Didnt knew about the eye, so i will nickname you Femme-terstrain01 (only obscure stealth gamers will get the reference) love ur vids Also loved how u turned on the subtitles while i was thinking it
Suzy I can't believe you have finally started playing this game again.. a couple of weeks ago I started it back up again too.. be prepared for your emotions to be all over the place in this
if you care about good games,ps4 has many cheap great games that every gamer should play imo and i don't think the resolution and fps are the reason to dislike games or platforms,if you truly love playing video games
This is great. TLOU along w/ God Of War 3 were what got me back into playing videogames. While GOW was incredibly fun and interesting, I don't think anything is gonna top TLOU for me. It's a unique experience that really gets you invested w/ it's captivating story and character development.
2,5 years later, here I am. 2 more sleeps from LOU2 release, watching another play through. Completed the game myself at least 5 times. And btw, I always say US, but always think U-S. As in United States. ;P
does anyone know what they would do IF something like this ever happened?? Would You be Ready.. as for helping.. If it just happened, Sorry, NO.. Get out as fast as you can, then if someone comes along after a few days.. well. then deside.. OMG!! GREAT VIDEO!!!!
I went to a game store earlier this year and got 3 PS3 games, and got The Last of Us for free since it was buy 2 get 1. The PS3 version is surprisingly cheap, even GameStop lists it as $5
The main reason I think sarah's death works so well is how vividly you see her die. She doesnt just fall over or blink away with life. You see her squeak and whimper in graphic detail as Joel tries to help her.

Sarah’s death, every time I play it, IT HURTS THE FEELZ
If you cry, your a human being.
Danskyl7 Not if one had seen it so many times and has been desensitized to it. One doesn't cry then and yet, they are still human... and just need a new traumatizing incident to cry over. Like the child beating or concentration camps in Detroit: Become Human to name a few of many from that game.
Just by watching this Sarah's death made me cry
We all can admit Hugh Jackman would play a awsome Joel in a Last of Us movie especially if you seen the film Logan and Ellen Page would play Ellie.
Should would never play the role, She hates that they "stole" her image.
Justin Cowart anson mount would be a muuuuuuuch much better joel
@C M Nah Josh should just stick to Thanos and Cable
OMG THAT WOULD BE THE MOST EPIC DYNAMIC DUO!!!
Viggo Mortensen would be epic
Masterpiece. This game is something else.
Second was not so much
I have to admit I go through youtube to see peoples reaction to the intro to the game and yours happens to be the most heartbreaking your reaction actually made me cry. The intro always gets me but with your reaction to it on top I balled like a baby!
the way the title comes in after Sarah's death gives me goosebumps every time, especialy when the music starts building up 17:33
Big hug for suzy after this scene 17:04 😭
Welcome to the family son 👊
Zombie apocalypse stuff is over saturated to me. But this game an exception. Because it’s a great game.
MrGamer I don’t play this because it’s a zombie apocalypse game, I play it because the story is so interesting and I love Joel and Ellie
But I agree, zombie apocalypse stuff is over saturated. Days gone is an example of that
Tbh I don't think it is think how crazy and panicked the world would be and people would be starting fires and losing there minds which would spread an infection quicker also many people would be getting killed criminals and everything would be on the loose it would be terrible
Suzy the infection is a fungus. Once a body is no longer useful, the infection uses the body to grow fungi to release spores to spread
Nick Rolo cordyceps
yep and the body dies.... like the cordyceps irl does to insects
Left behind is so GOOD! The last of us is such a beautiful story with so many lessons and themes. This is such an Amazing game, so really pay attention.
This game made me cry - amazing game..
So amazing that u smash heads with bricks
It's literally my 3rd favorite game of all time!
16:58. Suzys reaction.😢
Played the game once on ps3, twice on ps4, that part kills me everytime.

I love watching you play! Just take your time and explore everything. This game can go quickly if you just push through it.
One of the most heartbreaking moments in a game I have ever seen

Its not a virus, is a fungus based on a real fungus that attacks on ants and other kind of insects

I've played this game 15+ times on PS3 when it released, and another 3 in PS4. I'm always in tears during the intro and that is never gonna change.
I've played this game enough and watched enough gameplays of it that the first 20 minutes doesn't get me choked up like it used to, but seeing you get emotional made me emotional again agh. This game really knows how to get to your emotions, its so good.
As soon as she said “I don’t know if I should’ve helped them.” I knew she was gonna agree with the ending
"Why is the first thing people want to do is smash TV's?" Why do cats knock everything they see off of a table or shelf.
I miss back when she did these great game walkthrough, she is my favorite game player on youtube, followed by the Rad Brad.
One of the best intro to any game to this date .

One of the best games ever! I played it 3 times on grounded mode
What does "grounded" mode do?
really emotional scene with Sarah and Joel
Suzy: "Can you imagine if this actuslly happened to the world?"

Just from watching this first video of yours and your emotions in this game I’m subscribing
I cried as well during the intro. A lot of tears came from eyes

Girl I'm ashamed I haven't found your channel sooner.....you're the best!!!
I cried so much on this part too Suzy and every time i watch it it still makes me cry.

Yess I can't wait for 2 I love the last us it's so emotional

That part always gets to me
This game makes me emotional too. What a classic! Can’t wait for LOU2!

39:48 damn it, Suzy, you broke the first two rules of Fight Club lol great video as always

Another great popcorn/movie game. In hindsight from a gameplay standpoint it wasn’t that groundbreaking
It's like The Walking Dead. You think you've seen and done it all. You've got nerves of steel now and... then you cry every time. :D

I still can't believe they made it so THAT would happen to his daughter! *WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!!!*

As a last of us veteran, this video is funny to me. 'ammo is quite scarce' on normal. Wait till you try grounded!
I’m watching this game again to prepare myself for the last of us part 2.
Troy Baker is a legend!
I forgot about the theme music..the shivers
