  • Today’s new model is a 14-year-old male with fungal acne. Previously he’s had a couple of facials to extract the buildup on his forehead. Today is part one of the facial. This is where we start and then I will see him again in two weeks for a follow-up facial.
Skin type - oily. Sub-condition is congested with surface dryness, slight irritation, and scarring residue.
Cause of fungal acne - oral steroids
Other areas of the body affected are his chest and back.
Food plan - go off candida foods such as bakers yeast (bread, cakes) mold foods, such as (cheese, mushrooms) fermented foods, such as (vinegar) all melons (watermelon, cantaloupe) refined sugar.
Adults should go off wine (fermentation) and beer (bakers yeast)
    First step home care regimen:

Nerida has successfully merged beauty, ASMR, and education all together. I’m on the east coast so it’s not anytime too soon I could book a facial with her, but Rejuvi and her lessons have really elevated my skin!

My skin suddenly go really oily due to stress and now I'm not sure what going on. I've been using de la cruz sulfur ointment cause I think I may have fungal acne and nizoral is too harsh. Would the products you've used be suitable for me? Can you please suggest a cleanser and exfoliant for me. I have really skin on forehead specially between brows, both cheeks , sides of nose and chin. Rest is normal skin . I really don't know what to use , please help😢

Hello Nerida, i had sebum that dried and when i tried extracting it created a donut like structure. I extracted some more a month later and some harden sebum came out and the skin bruised but it a month later it still is dark and not flatten. I am an African American and i don't think burning is acceptable for ny skin tone right? How can i get this cleared? Also i just started Esthetic Class and i would love to mentor at your facilities. Also how do you tell it is a fungal outbreak?

How do you know the difference between hormonal acne and fungal acne?

Its very difficult to diagnose, its always recommended to go to a dermatologist for an official opinion/diagnosis when it comes to any Fungal-type acne/condition~ Typically the signs are tingling "crawling" feeling under the skin, dry patches, greasy patches, red flakey areas, and its typically predominant in the creases of the nose, brows, and around the mouth~

Hormonal acne is painful to the touch, larger, deeper, can be cystic with infection and ruddiness surrounding the papule.
Fungal is smaller bumps (gritty) looks irritated, can be dry flakey surface 🩵🩵

It is not true acne, as it is not caused by the acne bacteria, but by the fungus called malasezzia. They are generally smaller, they’re often harder to extract, and traditional products for acne don’t work on it because they are more antibacterial versus anti fungal. Also, for a lot of people, skin issues involving fungus tend to itch as well, which is not common for acne bacteria concerns.

Probably caused by using too many products. Threw the skin off balance by using strong antibacterial washes
