    Hi Clara. Awesome videos. I followed your videos and got my IQA recently. My initial Bachelor of Science (General) was the underpinning qualifications which got assessed to NZQA Level 7 and the funny thing is they assessed my post graduate 2 year Bachelor of Education also to a Graduate Diploma at level 7. I am very confused at this point. Following were their remarks :
    Secondary Sector: The qualification standard pathway does not sufficiently cover the grade ranges within the New Zealand secondary sector.
    Primary Sector: The qualification above does not sufficiently cover the grade ranges within the New Zealand primary sector, and the programme curriculum coverage is restricted to the subjects of Science and Life Science, which provides only partial coverage of the primary curriculum in New Zealand
    All my detailed marksheets clearly mentioned my marks and in each subject with clear mention of minimum passing marks and maximum marks of each subject. I really don't understand what grade ranges are they looking for when clear and absolute scores are provided.
    For the part of subjects, each candidate who wants to enroll for a study / education degree has to take 2 elective subjects in first 2 semester and the rest of the subjects are divided in 4 semesters.
    To support all the requirements of documentation, I also added my specific syllabus document covering all the details of my Bachelor of Education. Still getting a proper IQA is a mess. I mean when they already qualified my underpinning degree to a level 7, how on earth did they find the 2 year post graduate Bachelor of Education degree again at level 7, when then are issuing level 8 to 1 year programmes with half the study credits in New Zealand..I am heart broken and totally disappointed at their conduct. I just want you to share your opinion or suggestions so that everyone else can benefit.

    Very informative video. I hope to get the teacher registration through discretionary path way and preparing documents these days. I'm an ESL teacher from Sri Lanka. Is it hard to find out an ESL teaching job for a non native teacher.

      I suppose if you are in a big city, it’s not so hard. Some schools hire ESL teachers or we usually call it ESOL here, especially schools which have a massive population of immigrants from non-English speaking countries.

    Hi, how do we proceed after collecting yhe docs?
    Do we send all these docs to the Teaching Council via email, or do they have any portal to apply to?

    • @SenseiClara
      @SenseiClara  Месяц назад

      They have a website called Hapōri Matatū. You can create an account there, assuming this is the same process as applying for a registration in NZ. If not, get in touch with them and ask what the procedure is.

    Hi mam,
    Do we need to have the NZQA assessment report to apply through discretionary pathway?
    If so does the NZQA report result should be level 7? Can't it be below level 7? Like level 6?

    • @SenseiClara
      @SenseiClara  3 месяца назад +1

      I'm not sure if they take the level into account too much. On their note, they should tell you whether you can register as a teacher or you need to get more credits.

    Hi maam, how do you exactly apply for the teaching practise certificate using the discretionary pathway. I have all the documents and what's next. I have created the ESL account and im now stuck on the appropriate path to follow. If you can create a video explaining step by step from creating the esl to paying the fee but following the discretionary pathway.
