I gotta love those respectful amiable youth there. They were sportsters of some kind I believe. Like all kids, they're just out to catch some action, and so they find the famous "Walk About Wayne", casting his action, and we have an an action packed scene.
If I told you something, you would probably not believe me. But I have a brother in law that lives here. My wife is Thai, and we live in Colorado, USA. So let me continue watching your video. And thanks for sharing, in fact I am going to share this with him, and my other relatives of Thailand. Thank you once again for this video, and take care.
@@WalkAboutWayne I forgot to mention I have been to Lampang a few times, and I love it. The last time I was there was in 2020. Again thanks for the video.
Brilliant Wayne! You made my day again! Very refreshing and a bit like stepping back to the last century. What you say at 8:45 about finding an unspoiled diamond lady is quite right. Many moons ago I met a very lovely one from Lampang that fit's the description, I often think I made a mistake not carrying on with her. I have some reservations about a lot of ladies from the south and Bangkok, but some of the most lovely and pure-hearted ladies I've encountered anywhere, especially the light complected doll-faced girls from the hills around Lampang and Lampun. At 10:05 it was interesting see Japanese coffee and cake shop with the sign advertising cheesecake, I wonder if Lampang is a destination for Japanese?
Thanks Jack! Yes, some really nice pure Thai ladies from this area. You could find a really nice lady in Lampang. It's nice to be away from all the tourists for a few days. Thanks 👍
So glad to see you enjoying it mate. It's been almost a year since I lived there, was like a lovely blast from the past seeing you walk about. We're in Chiang Mai now for the international schools but still make regular trips to the in-laws in Lampang. I've a feeling I know what hotel you were in from you saying it's right by Central and nice, you stayed at the Wiangklakor? Used to stay there too before I found my first Lampang condo, after I got married took a house in the old town with a big bit of land full of jack fruit, banana trees, coconuts. Really fond memories of Lampang! Hope to bump into you here in CM
Thank mate! Yes, I'm really liking Lampang , it's nice to be in a chilled town for a while. That's not the Hotel I'm in mate, but I'll be showing my hotel in the next vlog. Sounds like you had a good life in Lampang 👍
As far as English goes Lampang had US military where as Chaing Mai had very little US influence back in the late 60's early 70's...I was stationed in Lampang from 1972-73 and again in 1974-75... Cheers
Yes , it's like stepping back in time. I think the layout of Lampang town, is easier and more pleasant than CM and CR. It's perfect for walking around . Cheers Ant 😀
Hey Wayne, nice vlog mate i would consider the city as a holiday destination, it looks amazing mate. I would love to know what the accommodation prices are like for that aria and that shopping mal looks amazing to.
not what i was expecting, looks like a nice town :) i almost went to lampang for the climbing crag nearby but it rained out that weekend, i was expecting something much more rural.
The walks along the river are well worth it. If you walk down river from the swing bridge, you will come across a lovely park. If you cross the the swing bridge and walk the other way to the iron bridge, its also well worth exploring. The night markets are great. Not hectically busy, like CM. Also be sure to see the wooden temple (Wat Pra That Lampang Luang). Enjoy! Thanks for the great vlog, Wayne. Excellent stuff!
For a town that has no tourists there seems to be a lot of English on the menus and shop windows etc. That thai toast looked lovely jubbly mate. I do like the buzz of being looked at by locals because they don't see westerners much, doesn't really happen in Chiang Mai as it's full of westerners
Yes, and loads of people speak great English, that's the biggest surprise for me. It's great walking around and not seeing any foreigners. I seen a few but hardly any around. I feel like a king in Lampang 🤣 Yes mate, it's a nice change from Chiang Mai
not the covid. just that I'm a night owl and it gets a little too quiet a little too early. going Thailand in dec not sure whether to go back too Chiang Mai. I do miss it though.@@WalkAboutWayne
My hired songtaew driver took me to that Central Mall....unrequested! He didn't speak a word of English. I spoke very little Thai. After an hour or two driving around, I wanted to stop for a meal. I was expecting a side of the road cafe or food cart. I pointed out several places along the road. He refused and indicated a better option. He took me to the MALL! Not my choice of eating establishment, but I forgave him. He saw a farang woman and figured that's where farangs want to go eat hahaha I get it, I understand, but sheesh! I wanted genuine standard Thai style but got...the MALL.
🤣🤣🤣 it was the same in my part 1, when I asked the Massage lady, where is all the best area to see things in Lampang?, she said Big C and Central Plaza 🤣🤣.

Very true 🙏🙏
Really nice little town. I have passed through there, but now it is on my list of must visits.
It's a great town, and another place that we all overlook. It's a perfect getaway from Chiang Mai .

the Central malls are lively all over Thailand Wayne.catching some aircon, seeing and being seen.
Not really in Chiang Mai some days buddy, empty during the day.
Love your lampang energy man,you seem Totally invigorated

BTW Wayne, have you considered getting an AirTag, Tile or Samsung Smart Tag for Lucille? Might be worth a bit of peace of mind.
No mate, I just pin 📍 where the bike is in Google maps, if I really need too.

Great video sir, a nice change from other malls crowded with loud annoying farangs.😆😆

🤣🤣🤣 Funny
Hi Wayne, if you can check out BANTHI Lumphun District. Good Job!

Lampang; loving their masks.

does Chiang Mai still have the early midnight curfew?
You mean the covid curfew or in general? You'll find after hours places, no probs.

Aeon has the cheapest atm ( cash point) fees

The reason why you got scanned in Central was because of the shooting in Siam Paragon Bangkok
