Shhhhhh Wayne, we don't want paradise spoiled before we get there mate! It does seem perfect, more like a seaside beach town without all the riff-raff. The girl at 5:37 looks like a girl I knew from Lamphun decades ago. Those pearly skinned doll-like cuties from the north like her will melt your heart for sure.
@@WalkAboutWayne Indeed, with the way things have become here and are going and after one of many bad experiences today with a government office that no longer serves, You and this video came to mind, and I asked "Why am I in a place that sucks money, energy and life and gives nothing in return, and the thought of the rest of my days in that was hard to swallow. Perhaps we may both end up there. I often think of that lovely lady and her dear sweet soul, and wonder where and how she is today. It's been so long the thought did cross my mind that the charming lady in your video could now be the daughter of the lady I knew.
Amazing sunset, pretty neat you ran into a subscriber. The place seems so peaceful, quiet, and relaxed, really would be a great spot to settle down in, you'd have to be actively seeking the quiet life to be living there I believe.

Stunning sunset capture, Wayne. Phayao got the right vibe. I hear you re: the island. Yes, there's definitely room for an upgrade. But, and here's the big but! If they turn it into a glitzy mini Disneyland, you'll have to fight your way through past a million tourists on a small island. It will completely ruine the peaceful atmosphere we have come enjoy. Keep up the good work humble Englishman. I know i will find you in Phayao, one day.

Perfect way to spend your last night there mate. The sunset over the lake was epic. I think the lake is probably what makes the place. Without that it might be just like any other place in northern Thailand. Stay safe mate stay safe

I spent a lot of time in Phayao area 2010/11. I' m sure it's changed some, but there isn't enough to keep a foreigner entertained long term
Depends what you like I guess. A few expats live here now, I have a friend here to, he loves it. Chiang Rai not to far either 👍
