    Definitely load the nails against the bottom. The upper section is just to accommodate longer nails.

    A little off topic, but I know Craftsman isn’t what it used to be. But last year I bought their combo nailer/stapler set with that tiny pancake at HD. The same that Porter Cable rips off. I’ve had great results with it.

      Thanks for sharing. Good to know. It’s a damn shame that nothing is made well anymore. We need to start making stuff in the USA again. Maybe then we will see the quality improve again.

    I would always put coat of sanding sealer or shellac on the wood before I did any filling. That way the pores of the wood are all filled. Enjoyed your show --- history teacher!!!!

    I think it was a year ago, your video to install gas heating in your garage was of interest to me and I went along and did it. A year later, working on my 48x96 inch workbench where I wanted to install electric outlets, I fell on one of your videos. Listening to more of them, I discovered, strangely enough, that your tastes and approaches to things were very close to mine. And now, after noticing your Islanders sticker on the fridge (for your love of hockey), I find out that you're a teacher? Hey, buddy, you've got someone here in Ottawa, Canada that, like you, loves hockey (the Montreal canadians), that's a newly retired high school tech teacher and I'm building my own workshop. But, to be a bit different, I've got a CNC in my garage and I also build robots (R2-D2, Wall-E,...). You are very interesting, not perfect like everyone else is and, to be frank, you seem like an honnest guy that doesn't hide his mistakes... Which is great and important for all DIYers. So keep up your great work!

      Too bad we are not neighbors. We would get along real well. (Except when my Islanders play your Habs). And I would probably be using your cnc all the time. 😂. Seriously though, congratulations on your retirement. It’s good that you have a hobby that you are passionate about. That way you never get bored being retired. I still have 10 years to go 😩 unless I can get a million subscribers.

    For the porter cable air nailer load the nails on the bottom not the top and see if that helps

  • @clyde8drive
    @clyde8drive 2 года назад +1

    yea the nails get loaded at the bottom of the channel, not the top. easy mistake but easy fix.
    Old Porter Cable is good stuff, but the newer in big box is cheaper. Find an independent tool dealer that carries the tradesman brand guns that contractors buy. They are generally made with more replaceable parts, metal and not plastic in a lot of internals and cost a good chunk more, but they last. HD and Lowes carry the lighter versions, not all but a lot.

      Just buy a Bostitch and be done with it

  • @feldmanjared
    @feldmanjared 2 года назад +1

    Maybe I am inexperienced but I thought the nails in those guns had to be set against the front of the gun, the left when loading.

      This particular one loads up against the back.

    I am also pursuing shop organization. It’s hard to work on projects when stuff isn’t in their spot because they don’t have a spot. It is tough!

    Hey paisan, how's about sending me that Prosciutto? And yes Porter Cable has goon way down hill from what it used to be 15 years ago. Sad.....

    Your loading the nails incorrectly, they should be placed at the very bottom of the channel NOT THE TOP like you show in the video.
