Prophesy in the Bible was actually what the Lord used through the Spirit to move me into belief from a compete hatred of Christianity. I can't help but to praise Him for all of the wonders in His word.

I learned this stuff as a high schooler in what had to be the coolest Bible class ever with Mrs. Mitchell. I understood what she was teaching and learned a lot about it. It's 15 years later that I am realizing the significance of these things on my faith as a Christian. Thanks for sharing Mike!

I see God giving these prophecies for many reasons..I reckon one of them being that during the time of silence, he wanted his people to know he is still around and in control..the age of the prophets is over, so to keep his people, he gave them fulfilled prophecies to inspire them, I’m sure, in the same way they inspire us today

I really enjoy the history aspect. It’s fascinating. Also it is confusing with all the people having the same names. I’m named after my uncle and I have a cousin named after my dad, it can get confusing at times with other people outside the family and even in the family too in regards to knowing who someone is wanting to talk to/ get that person’s attention. I also believe that skeptics and atheists are in a sense believers, they just have belief in their skepticism and non-belief.

I follow the scripture reading and wish you would say what Bible you are quoting, NIV, etc. it makes more sense when I'm reading what you're reading. And, love your teaching. I work every weekend, attending church is nearly impossible, so I go to your videos to learn

I've always called myself a Christian, even though I didn't live like one. And it wasn't until I started really getting into these evidence claims that I really realized that I wasn't living right and that I believed more of a pseudo Christianity than the Christianity.
I'm thankful for guys like Mike Winger, Hugh Ross, William Lane Craig, James White, David Wood, and the countless other apologist that have turned me to the true God.
I still have my struggles but I hate my sin and I've come a long way by the grace of God.

Correction: Daniel 11:9 is referring to Seleucus 2nd, not Seleucus 3rd.
how did we determine when Daniel was written?
How can this be proof of anything if we have to take it on faith that it was written before the events it purports to describe?

Have you not read that when Alexander came to Jerusalem he was met not by an army but by priests. They showed him the book of Daniel and because of what it said about him, he spared the city and did not destroy it. Check it out.

+Manci Ackles Siya I think that is an amazing prophecy! I won't take time to talk about most of the prophecies of the Bible in this series, I am choosing certain ones because I like them for this purpose. I could easily have included that passage but I didn't, I simply picked prophecies that I thought were compelling and used them. If I were to include every fulfilled prophecy this series would be much longer than I intend it to be. If you find a link to someone dealing with that prophecy then feel free to post it in the comment section of my video.
Mike, have you ever considered that the legs of iron might represent the Syrians and the Egyptians. They were two of the divisions of the Greek kingdom of Alexander that would have concerned the Jews.
I've recently heard some stuff about that and I think it warrants more study when I am able.
Let us know what you find. I've always thought that the kingdoms in Nebuchadnezzar's dream came one after the other. If the legs of iron don't represent the Seleucid and Ptolemaic empires then there is a 250 year gap in the prophecy.
Nitpick, Alexander the Great is not considered Greek. He was Macedonian to the north of classical (and current) Greece. Parts of Macedonia are now in several countries, an Albanian region and a Greek province, but Macedonia is and was a country.
Mike should've told us that the Cleopatra that he mentioned is not the famous one who had a child with Julius Caesar, married Marc Antony, and killed herserlf rather than let herself be capured by Octavian, the future first Roman Emperor, Augustus Caesar.

Mike conveniently doesn't mention 11:42 where Daniel's prophesying goes false. Why does Daniel make startlingly accurate prophesies and then suddenly make false ones? It's clear. These portions of Daniel were written after the events took place. When he actually tried to predict what would happen at the end, he got it wrong.

The first amazing verse I found when I began translating the OT, was Isaiah 45:11 "…Thus says YHWH-Holy-One-of-Israel-and-his-Creator to you(p): … concerning the work of my hands: You(p), command me. (Also Isa 42:8-9; 45:11,19; 48:3-7; Jer 33:3; Amos 3:7, 4:13) There's 50 English translations, and half of them are similar. But the other half range from evasive, to bitterly sarcastic; they didn't like the idea of commanding Yahweh. First of all, that's what it literally says. But 18:3-4 says, "Unless you be as a little child, you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven"; and any little child commands his mother when upset or when curious, sometimes so loud that he can be heard from one end of Walmart to the other. I spent hundreds of hours combing through scriptures with a search engine looking for pros and cons; finally I surrendered and said, " Look, Yahweh, the prophecies are YOUR words for us, so I command you to TELL ME WHAT THE BOOK OF DANIEL MEANS!" Of course I was afraid and nervous, but I did it anyway. I had sifted through so much instruction by so many prophets that I was maybe more afraid to NOT command him. After all, unless you are totally blind as Isaiah 6:8-12 says, he's commanding us to command him, and that's very, VERY clear. He hates it when we are stubborn and don't listen to him, so I'm not going to rebel to his face. I have no desire to blindly believe; I want proof, and if he can create a trillion galaxies with billions of suns and planets, he surely can do this. I like science, and I'm naturally skeptical, but he gave me plenty of proof; and a week or two later, I found myself at night with four of his very friendly , smiling messengers at a certain location 600 miles away where they rescued me a while back. They were overjoyed that SOMEONE finally listened and obeyed the instructions in scripture. They cautioned me to avoid all the learned commentaries on Daniel; it's true that they all are worthless. I could research history, Hebrew grammar, and geography because those were "Earthly", but sacred, holy knowledge could never come from our "wise ones", i.e. the sages, scholars, etc. That was 7 years ago, and for months they would take me out to that starry, quiet place down south and tell me all about Daniel; then about other prophecies, and awaken me with a heavenly voice or other similar sound. So, I know all about prophecies, end times, antichrist, etc, etc. It isn't cheating because I inquired of Yahweh who wrote them. But academic studies of sacred knowledge is like asking a fish about bicycles; humans know nothing but foolishness about higher matters; as Jesus says, sacred knowledge is hidden from the wise, but it's given without end to the childlike, open-minded ones who inquire of Yah-Yahweh. ("Child' refers to the mind unencumbered with preconceived notions and formalities and such; it has nothing to do with age.)

@@daniel-oy1bd It means we're due for some very interesting times, and any day now, and certainly not in the distant future. Events are entirely scripted to educate us, so we can learn certain lessons (mainly, how NOT to be jerks). Daniel explains how to read this script; it's not all that hard, and it takes about 3 weeks to get results. A little problem is there's paramilitary groups that want to set up an absolute totalitarian gov't and raid other civilised worlds. That's a stupid idea and not a new one, so these bozos have to be deported to an isolated planet far away (the apocalypse). Then, they can give us all the hi-tech stuff we want, cure our diseases so we can live forever, travel anywhere, etc. There's a couple of ways to talk with (invoke) them. It's all in the scriptures; I've tried one way and it really works. I was surprised-there's no secrets, and sometimes they show you around. (Ever hear of 'expanding your consciousness'? That's a specialty of theirs; normally, most of our abilities are deliberately restricted.) I've met a couple dozen people who've talked with them; it's really pleasant.They're like us but just a little more advanced.

In 2020 I asked God in absolute faith about Revelation 17:10-11 and was answered. Obama is the 8th He will do Daniel 11:21 and on because it is him.
Because of what happened in 2020 saying what would happen to my mum and dad with words that where not my own that they would not last the 1st lockdown and then have it happen because I had things like this happen all my life I was in a place of brokenness and had a contrite heart and asked about Revelation 17:10-11 the Holy Spirit answered and gave the understanding that this was the same as Daniel 11:19-21.
Long story short Obama will use what happens to Biden to get back in power. This is not my opinion my thought where not this but I put self to the side and asked in faith like we are told to do and I received to my shock. If you have a waring you must warn. There is no pride in this I don't get pleasure out of this but when you where warned what is coming you must warn.

Well this prophecised up to about the time it was written, keep up the validation of your beliefs.
The issue I have with this passage - the King of the North is always a Seleucid King, while the King of the South is always a Ptolemaic king. Then, to avoid non-fulfillment in the later verses, these kings have to be kings of some other dynasties. It seems like cheating to me to suggest this - and I think this is one of several good reasons to believe Daniel was compiled ( not written in its entirety) around 165 BC. I've looked at the reasons some scholars use to suggest a 'gap' starting around verse 36, and most of these reasons are questionable, or start out assuming the truth of Christianity from the start.
This man adheres to the Jesuit-created Futurist school of prophetic fulfillment. Look it up.

Would be great to have prophecies for stuff that actually happened after our first copies of these texts. Otherwise all of it can be chalked up to embellished "copying" after the fact, can't it?
I mean what's a few hundred years on the scale of God's eternity? Why is it that all the prophecies are all within a couple of hundred years of the ostentatious "time-of-writing" of these texts?
Ah. Prophecy after the fact. Porphyry of Tyros. Check Daniel 10:21; all major events were scripted out, long before mankind was on Earth; Daniel explains how he was able to learn what was coming, 9 centuries after his time; the conventional 'wisdom' about Daniel is wrong; it had to be wrong, so we could learn how useless our 'great' scriptural authorities are. As for what you asked, get a copy of Genesis 11:1-8, study the entries on the Space Shuttle in Wikipedia-here's the solution to the riddle: BRICKS = silicate tiles; TAR = RTV cement; TOWER = 'stack' as Cape Canaveral called it; Like Babylonia, the USA is the #1 world power; This 'tower' reached the heavens in LEO 133 times with 2 failures. NOTHING in Genesis 11 or Wikipedia says that the bottom of the tower must remain on the ground-pretty clever of Elohim and the heavenly host. As Genesis says, the TOP of the tower reached the heavens. As for Porphyry of Tyros, there are a dozen or so prophecies that warn of "devastation from the north", so draw a line straight north from Jerusalem; Tyros is less than a degree east of that line, and in Hebrew numerals, "TRWS" is Hebrew for Tyros, and T = tav = 400; R = resh = 200; W = vav = 6; and S = samech = 60 for a total of 666.
He made a whole video explaining why scholarly opposition to the 6th century B.C. historicity of Daniel is a nothingburger.
