My Airplane Door Opened on Take Off

My wife and I went up to Oshkosh, WI for the worlds largest airshow which is Eaa AirVenture. When we were departing Fond Du Lac airport (KFLD) where the plane stayed during the show, my door opened just before rotation speed. It quickly turned into a highspeed taxi as I pulled the power back and slowly applied the breaks. Another airplane was behind already cleared for take off which made me nervous hoping he heard the tower say "Cancel Take Off Clearance". Thankfully it all worked out. We taxied back for another go and had an uneventful departure.

That was handled very well. Happened to me on the passenger side and was up in the air. Again, well done.

The door latches are a real issue on the older Cirrus models. I've not seen the issue on a G6 before though.

Thanks, Brian! She talks about getting some training but also enjoys climbing in the back to take naps. She knows as soon as she can fly it will be me climbing in the back.

Thanks! I've never been a fan of high-speed taxi and the way the plane feels on the ground at those speeds. Wasnt a great feeling but glad it happened before rotation.
