- If you're looking for a sign to go to Oshkosh...this is it! Today, we take off from Liberal, Kansas and continue our cross-country adventure in the Bonanza to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for EAA AirVenture 2022 (yes, this was my trip from last year!). We'll spend the night in La Crosse, Wisconsin to wait out some storms, then fly the busy Fisk Arrival as a three-ship into Oshkosh the next morning.
Part 1: • let's fly to OSHKOSH! ...
AirVenture is a week-long fly-in and airshow that happens every July with over 10,000 airplanes at 600,000 people!
This is the first trip with my new Garmin panel installed by Neal Aviation (www.nealaviation.com/ ) The Bonanza was on display at the Garmin Tent at EAA AirVenture 2022 and will be again this year at AirVenture 2023 - come say hi!
Thank you for watching!

I am retired air traffic controller, I wish I had vfr pilots as efficient and nice as you. So super glad I found your videos!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I hope you enjoyed the video!
VERY well put. Her comms are a joy! Clear, Concise, and exact. She could teach lessons on proper comms.
Ah so fun to hear that air traffic controller fan on the radio! How nice.
That interaction made my whole day! So cool!
You do know that "How nice" often times means exactly the opposite in the ATC-world? 🤣 "Oh, so you are crossing the FAF at 2.5' with absolutely no radio contact whatsoever, how nice..."
Oshkosh is a white knuckle experience...especially with the chuckleheads that try to cut in. That was fun. Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you for watching, Brian! Oshkosh is definitely intense. I think I'll try to head in earlier than Sunday this year to avoid some of the madness. 😅
Chuckleheads? More like knuckleheads! I couldn't believe hearing people arguing with ATC.
That was such a great shot with the C-17 behind you!
I was pulling the airplane as fast as my little legs would go when that thing pulled up behind me, LOL! It was insane to see! Made my Bonanza look like an ant
Stevie, the coincidences here are hilarious. My grandpa and I were on the arrival just ahead of you. You can here my grandpa call out the slow cubs at 24:26. Not only that but that’s me talking to you at 31:56 near the end of the video. I also did a video on Oshkosh last year. See you in a couple of weeks!!
My God, even ATC are watching these videos. Amazing how much real world effect Stevie can spin up. That air traffic event was manic, stressful to watch I would have freaked flying in that
That is an intense amount of information to process as you came into Oshkosk, and you remained so calm. It's incredible. I love how polite everyone on the radio is despite the seriousness of the business.
It's constant chatter on the radio, scanning for traffic, navigation...oh, and you're flying an airplane too! It's such an exhilarating experience, I'm super grateful that I've been able to fly in not once but twice (and soon to be a third time)! The controllers are really amazing and (most) of the pilots are too 😅😂
Thanks Stevie for the neat presentation. You're looking pretty as always and so accomplished. When are you going to start commercial flying and will it be passenger or cargo? Keep your eyes out for any UFOs because they're all over the place. I've seen 40 of them since I was 15 and am 85 now. Most of them are peaceful and curious. Well, I've asked and saiid enough so I'll sign off now and thanks so much. So glad your mom helped you out in the beginning. See you in your next one, adios senorita.❤
Way to handle getting into Oshkosh! Just like a pro!
Thank you! It was wild. Sunday is always crazy, plus the storm rolling through the night before made it even crazier. Definitely gets your adrenaline going a little!
As always love the ATC and checklists. Like the controller said, keep the videos coming!
Thank you so much! More on the way soon!
I'm ex airforce having flown a lot of formation (close and combat) flying (jets and turbos) over my years but OMG @stevie, you guys had me on the edge of my seat for this Oshkosh arrival. Well done! Oshkosh ATC are absolute gods.
The shot of that C-17 - killer! Like Agnes to Gru, "Excuse me sir, but I'm trying to park so you're just gonna' have to wait a bit." 🤣
CLEAR !!! (PLEASE tell me that one maverick pilot got in trouble for not following the ATC instructions !
Great job, many thanks for the ride!
Thank you so much for watching!
I don't fly, and have never been in a small craft such as yours, but I am absolutely fascinated with your flying! :)
I'm glad you enjoy coming along for the ride!
Back seating here an hour from Melbourne Australia.
Same. I think there is just something satisfying about watch someone proficient, be proficient. Even though i'm not a pilot there are things to be learned, about communication in general, watching these videos.
Amazing choreography between the three planes, the footage for the "flight of three" looks incredible especially the runway and then the flight itself including the
turns during the hold. Also hearing the pilots on the radio trying to deal with the chaos is fascinating and then the controller trying to bring order to the chaos 😅
Huge props to your copilot too! Chris seems like a solid asset to have in the seat next to you. Thank you for the content!
Agree - he was being very unobtrusive but also helping out where needed.
That got real busy in a hurry. You have pulled into the grass and my brain is still at Endeavor, lol. Another inspiring video, thanks!
saw you at Oshkosh with a line of like 100 young girls all of whom you've inspired to be a pilot what you're doing is amazing keep it up it really is heartwarming to see so many women in aviation.
Well done Stevie. You nailed the landing and nothing rattles you. Whoever trained you did an outstanding job. I have seen much more experienced pilots have trouble at Oshkosh. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
THEE best FISK Arrival/approach into oshkosh example with crazies in your airspace...✈✈✈
I travel from Fond du Lac to Minnesota via I90 quite often. It was so cool to follow you flying over so many familiar landmarks all the way to Oshkosh. What makes your story so compelling to me is how you blend a sense of adventure and freedom with your respect for accuracy and precision as you fly. As a father of three daughters I commend you for living your best life and sailing right past notions of limitations and barriers at 165 knots.
I'm addicted to your videos. Love it when you scream CLEAR!! 😅
CLEEEEEAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
Love seeing those V-tails flying in to Oshkosh! Used to fly in a 1973 V35B, tail N830T. I miss it every day. As usual Stevie, you nailed it and fly with such grace and perfection.
It's always a good day when stevie posts 🥰
That approach into Oshkosh got my blood pressure up! Great job!
Great video Stevie. You obviously had great instructors, and I love your cockpit discipline. Keep ‘‘em coming ! !
Thank you so much! I learned to fly at an amazing flying club in Michigan and truly had the best instructors. I wouldn't have wanted to learn to fly any other way. I hope you enjoyed the latest video, thanks for watching!
I usually do not leave comments, but watching Stevie’s videos are just so enjoyable. I will continue watching them.
Old retired pilot and C90 controller. Love this!❤❤❤
Always nice to get a shoutout from ATC! Great job flying into the squirrel house at Oshkosh!
Love your preflight checks!
I LOVE your flow checks in the cockpit!
Thank you!
@@bayflight I fly a fixed gear, fixed pitch but I'm still trying to do the checks out loud :)
Never clicked so fast. Thank you for all the awesome videos Stevie. You should do a review on the Garmin and show some of the features it has. I’m learning on the G1000 but your Garmin is still worth learning a lot about.
Thank you so much for watching Nicholas! That's a good idea, an in-flight full review would be great! Would especially love to do that once I'm instrument current and can really show off all the Garmin capabilities. I hope you enjoy the new video!
@@bayflight I’d like to see it but You’ll get your instrument current soon don’t worry. I haven’t watched the video all the way but will later and I’m already enjoying it :)
He said "Yesh" - LMAO!
Awesome segment - so much fun to watch!
Thank you Scott! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Looks like your new navigation equipment was on show with your plane in Garmin's booth area. Awesome.
It was! I'll be at the Garmin booth with 21C again this year!
@@bayflight Do you ever see yourself doing any additional mods (like the engine) or would your long term plan to be upgrade your Bonanza to something else?
I like how @SkylineBaronPilot turbo charged her Baron.
I'm South African of origin so I am biased so (whispering) "Pssst Geeet a Sling next"
LOL Just kidding - twin may be your next transition.
Wwwwow... that Oshkosh entry was crazy busy! Great job with situational awareness and being a real pro!
Kudos to you guys at ATC!!! That was intense. Awesome job everyone (except for Mr. Rude, and Speed Racer).
I noticed your SpaceX key chain and hat. Welcome to the SpaceX family.
Please don't stop making videos, your chill style is fantastic to watch.
Thank you so much!
Once again, a total pro. Staying that calm during the Fisk arrival is impressive.
Very cool! Thanks for the ride!
Thanks for coming along!
Glad to see the controller spoke up.
Funny how small our network truly is... 1976 I was in Okinawa, USMC, controlling/referring helicopters, and off to Korea for a vacation. I visited my AF friend at his control tower. While there, he asked if I could show the others how a Marine controlled fixed wings. Ok, I didn't think you would ask with a no brief handover.
The pattern was full with some great pilots as we played for over 15 minutes. He failed to mention that stateside I came from Cherry Pt, NC, a USMC fixedwing airfield; LOL.
Everyone had a fantastic experience!
Jumping forward, in Orlando waiting to return home to Guangxi ~2007.
A gentleman sat next to me, and we started to chat. He said that I had a voice of remembrance, and we narrowed it down to 1976 in Korea. He was one of those pilots. You never know when yesteryear may catch up!
Any time or anywhere we have a unique lifestyle that a few ever enjoyed!
Have a great week!
Hahaha i loved the traffic controller :D
awesome!!! good to see you stevie and two one charlie! 🙂
Thank you for watching!!
It’s so easy to hear what you’re saying on the radio, alot of pilots mumble too much. Bose comm system probably doesn’t hurt too…
I feel like I should be getting WINGS credit for watching these videos. Super educational and entertaining all at once. Really well done, thank you!
“Not too bad with a little Bonanza”
Mad respect for your radio work and use of checklist! Have a great time at Airventure '23. Blue skies!
That approach into Oshkosh with the best ATC personnel and a good pilot made me well up.
Stevie it's all good, you have fun no matter ware ya go , It's a joy to see ya fly. Be safe Love Wins.
Excellent Stevie! Thanks for taking us along! Enjoy!
Wow, just amazing. Very smart to have a CFI in the right seat to help manage the workload. Very well done. The yo-yo that cut you off is a shining example of what not to do, but you all nailed it perfectly. 👍👍
Did you have a tailwind? 189 sounded fast, nice to see how you are progressing as a pilot, much love Stevie ✌️♥️🇬🇧
Thank you so much for the kind words! We did have a tailwind!
Just awesome thanks for sharing take care and stay safe 👍 😊.
Thank you so much for watching!
Nicely done, Stevie! You're a total professional, and could be my great-niece's twin! I am a Co-Chair for the GA Parking team at Sun N Fun in Lakeland, FL (KLAL). Please let us know if you're planning to head down here for the 50th anniversary in 2024. I can't guarantee the high-profile parking spot you got with Garmin at OSH, but I can certainly get you a nice one here if you don't get sponsored by an exhibitor. Safe travels!
Watching this was more nerve wracking to me than trying to drive in a city. I'm amazed by how well you understand all the numbers that are given to you and you remember and understand them all. Thank you for sharing your flight. May God keep you safe and have a Great time. Love your channel.
you're a badass, Stevie. Love the leadership in your flight of 3. Looking forward to seeing the 140
Yes totally agree. She is so polite and a good pilot
Good to see young folks having a great time
Cool to see 3 planes next together
Listening to these planes getting handed off never ceases to amaze me.
Just another fantastic video Stevie thanks so much!
Fly safe and have a great time!
Thank you!
Awesome job flight of 3!!!
Hats off to the ATC'S Definitely a coordinated effort to all involved.
Wow! Awesome video. As others have said, that air traffic was so intense. The ATC’s deserve praise for keeping control and you did a great job, as well. Thanks for bring us along!
Chris, like the SpaceX cap.
Wow, I've never seen a vid of yours with so much ATC! Those controllers were challenged managing you all, but they did a great job. And you followed the rules when apparently not everybody did. Good job, Stevie, hope your last leg this year will be a little easier! 😆
Every time I see your panel it makes me smile. Enjoy Oshkosh!
love this chanel, youe a awsome pilot
Thank you!
Great video Stevie!
Thank you so much!
Love the cockpit discipline. You have a very precise voice. Solid on checklists…. Best to you this years flight and look forward to the video…
Well done, Stevie. I love how calm, cool, and collected you always are.
That was so awesome Stevie...!! Fantastic flying in Formation...!! Thanks for the ride. Take care Captain 😉❤😁👍
Proving once again, you are a total badass. Nice arrival.
Love watching your videos! Flying to Oshkosh this year for the first time with a Cherokees 2 Oshkosh! Hope to see you!
So, I did get to meet you, even if it was on Wednesday while you were enjoying time with your friends. Thanks for taking the time to be so kind and to say hi! Keep going girl!
Thanks for sharing. As a controller, I enjoy the audio you provide. It gives me insight into the world on the other side of the microphone.
I’ll bet being in the booth with your airplane was simply outstanding.
Once in a lifetime experience for sure! I can't believe I get to do it again this year!
Living here in Oshkosh it's always a trip to see so many planes come in every year! I can't imagine the stress the pilots go through! Great job!
I love these adventures -- well done and keep it up !
Thanks so much Robert!
Amazing job! That is one of the most stressful flights I have ever made. It's really hard to trust the other pilots. Stay well :)
Thank you for sharing your trip with us.
You’re an awesome pilot 👩✈️.
Safe travels and God Bless,Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊🇺🇸
6:00 lol controller love!
31:30 jacket flying out the door, the most piper thing ever
Why does she want him to open the door all the time, even before the plane has stopped moving?
@@caulkins69 planes get stuffy on the ground, it's the best way to get ventilation.
Good job , fun to watch ,nice radio work
Girl, you are a great pilot with a very sharp mind. I love your videos. Regards from Australia.
a busy approch and nicely done.
Thank you!
When you drive a car. Do you get in.
Adjust mirrors.
Adjust seat.
Fuel tank at 3/4
Tire pressure in the green.
Lol.
It's great you anouce all this. Shows it takes skill, and knowledge.
That was wild ❤
Once again incredible to watch this young lady.
Kept your cool with that crazy approach shows just how good of a pilot you are. I'm going for my ppl check ride in a week and it was your videos last summer that inspired me to do it so thank you!
OMG, I was getting stressed out just watching that arrival into Oshkosh. Great job!
That long final into Oshkosh was intense, but Stevie u kept ur Cool!!!
When I saw your plane sitting in a garden bed full of bark chips I was thinking that's one hell of an effort to get it over the kerb and through all that mulch. Had to scroll back to work it out. Plane first. Then garden!
😂😂😂
I learn more about ATC comms by watching your NON-instructional videos than I do by reading or watching others' "instructions". Many real examples, consistent repetition.
there's a derelict V Tail sitting at a little airport in Walkill NY. It's nice to see yung ones taking up the hobby and keeping these old birds flying.
Just beautiful ❤️
That was a very entertaining video. I love your energy and it’s great to see others from Michigan out there making this quality of content🙌
really cool at the end with all the traffic. i thought the plane off the left was too close. thanks, cool vid.
7:45 This is The Time Machine. Transverse time and space whilst arriving at a distant place.
oooh...memories
I was so glad I filed and flew in IFR on that day! Glad I reserved an IFR arrival time!
Great job Stevie. Just watching people do the Fisk approach stresses me out. 😁
Thank you so much!
