This is an extremely intelligent series. The preponderance of owners are going to be newbies.. for whom everything about a machine is new territory. They could not ask for better instructions.
Another great detailed video! I have to remove the tank to put in a NGK spark plug after the break in period. I ended up buying Lucas synthetic motorcycle oil while I wait for the Maxima oil to get here. I’m hoping the Lucas looks a lot cleaner than the factory oil did after 300 miles.
This is ridiculously hard when actually trying it. I cant seem to get the fuel line disconnected and I worry I might break it. Almost like Honda engineered it to be over complicated so only their certified engineers can work on it.
Before trying to push the white retainer clips on the fuel line where it connects to the tank, there is a small rubber tab that needs to be pulled loose. This rubber tab is packed in between the retainer clip and the inner tube to prevent accidental loosening.
No, the gas doesn't need to be emptied. Just a teaspoon or less will drip out because of what is in the line. Everything else is behind the fuel pump, so it can't drain unless you flip the tank over or energize the fuel pump. Good luck!
hello, maybe someone that watches this or even yourself can answer my question… i just got my CBR300R last week from an auction and i want to remove the gas tank but i don’t know if the remaining gas will come out from one of the pipes that need to be removed (can’t take it out from the gas cap because i don’t have the keys)
To get gas out from a locked gas tank, you'll probably need to put 12 volts power into the fuel pump - it will push fuel from the tank to the fuel line. If you've got the tank off of the bike, just put a fuel rated plastic tube or fuel line from the fuel pump into a gas can or a bucket, and then give power to the fuel pump. Pretty sure the 5 pin connector leading to the fuel pump has a black and a red...you'd need to put +12 v on the red, and ground on the black on the corresponding pins that are on the fuel pump itself. good luck, and let us know how it works out!
@@lightningfrog27 thank you for answering!! turns out the fuel pump was dead and i changed it, when i disconnected everything it didn’t spill any gas (which was my concern) so i just disassembled all the fuel pump and let the gas drain through that whole:) thank you for the help and awesome videos👍🏼👍🏼
Having a hard time finding the idol adjustment cable. I know its on the left side but do I have to remove the gas tank to find it or just the left fairing?
2:33 so yeah i accidently dropped the whole tank and this is the part that broke. So i need a brand new tank? i cant find that plastic under tanks part number anywhere.
Oof...I think that white barb is part of the fuel pump assembly. I changed my tank because there was an ugly hit on it, I did all you shown in the video and now when i put gas in the tank, the gas flows on my crb... What could it be?
Hey man - sorry to hear it's leaking. The fuel *should* only come out of the tank through the fuel line. Assuming there's no damage to the tubing, i'd guess that maybe the fuel line connector didnt fully snap into place when you put it back together. Best way to double check would be to tip the tank up a bit (like you see around 1:43 in the video), and pour some fuel in, and look underneath to see where it's escaping from. Once you've determined what's making it leak, it will be a lot more straightforward to resolve. Good luck, and let me know how it turns out!
@@lightningfrog27 Omg i'm so happy !! I fixed my motorcycle. It was just missing the joint between the plastic shit and the tank (you don't show it in the video because you don't have to remove it). But thanks a lot for your series that helped me a lot to change my tank!!

At 3:38 you can see how Honda Angled the rear trellis frame UP... for the Super Douche look... I would love to take a torch to this.. and make that rear frame Horizontal.. so the damn thin could have a traditional ( UJM/European/British) long flat seat, which permits many riding positions, a pillion passenger not so high they can bag ducks with their purse, and a rational place to mount panniers ( side bags) to maintain a low center of gravity, and permit traveling.. without a Dildo Albatross box 11 feet high. Hello Honda ?

Do I need to empty the entire gas tank so it won't leak gas, when removing fuel line and hoses?? Just don't want gas spraying everywhere. Help!!
