Thanks! I came here looking for how to remove a fuel tank and got the entire course on cleaning the tank, fuel filter and fuel pump. I did everything just as described and today, went riding on my little bike. Thanks for the help!
I didn't expect CLR to dissolve the cap seal as well as the aluminium cap and the seam on the overfill line inside of my tank. So not only I had get a new cap with different key but also gas was leaking through an overfill after topping the tank. Used 2 big jugs of clr over 3 days. Would've been cheaper just buying a new tank right away lol
I have been wondering why too much dust came out of the tank when the tank got wet. I think before you filled the tank with the cleaner or toilet cleaner, you had to wait for the tank to be dry. Could you tell me the full name of the toilet cleaner? thanks.
It was really helpful, but a few minor details would've helped too. Did you replace the gas tank gasket? It didn't show you screwing the fuel pump assembly onto the metal ring. It looked as if you just sort of laid it in place. But it can be turned and locked into place, at the expense of easily accessing the ports and electrical plug. Which is correct? Just a few extra minutes for details would've really ramped this up for me.
Great, video. Very nicely edited. I assume you gave the fuel tank a fresh water rinse after that after pouring off the CLR - water solution. How did you dry it out to ensure there weren't pockets of water? Was it as simple as just pointing a blower attachment from a compressor hose and blasting the droplets out?
Thank you for the video it's very helpful! I left my 2018 CBR300R parked in my garage for 6 months so the AGM battery died. I purchased a new Lithium iON battery and have it on a battery tender so that works great now. My only concern is when I try to turn it on. I hear the motorcycle take a couple of seconds to turn on and I feel like it bogs down and I have to give it some throttle for it to stay on like normal. I am assuming it's because it's 6-month-old gas in there right? could that be the reason? If so, will riding it and completely draining the tank solve this issue so it can start up nicely again? I don't see any rust at all inside my tank. Thank you for all the help!
I only have a little rust in mine. Was in it when I bought it. It hasn't affected anything and isn't getting worse. I have run a couple tanks of sea foam. Anything else I should do or just ignore it?
This video saved my wallet and a argument with the wifey ..like from 496$ to 46$ ..swapping my oem pump to a aftermarket assembly 😅...broke a nipple on the oem assembly
great Video. I have a 2015 as well with 600 miles recently stoped running felt like it just ran out of fuel and shutdown and never restart. would not start with either until I disconnected the clips connected to fuel tank at that point when sprayed it would run briefly like in your vid. I have cleaned injector like in your vid, I have ordered fuel pump and filter so haven't quite finished. Do you think it could be something else besides pump? just seemed odd that it would not run till some of the electronics disconnected.
There's two other things it could be; there's a tip sensor that cuts fuel if it thinks the bike is on its side, you can just unplug it from the inside of one of the panels and bridge the wires. The other thing is the kickstand being down also cuts the fuel, so I'd make sure that the wiring for that is also good
HOLA GOOD WORK I HAVE SOME HELP FOR MY HONDA 300R NAKED I DONT FOUD THE PUMP GASOLINE AND I THING THAT YOU CAN HELP ME . PLEASE I AM LIVE IN PANAMA EXCUSE ME
Yeah just realized my 2013 CBR250R got rusty in the tank after a year in storage... Fuel gauge blinks and bike wont start. Wish they would line or build the tank with plastic to avoid this kind of needless thing. Not buying another Honda ever again.
@@sheezy2526 You wont find an atv (well maybe save the honda?) that uses rust prone internal gas tanks. Its all plastic or some such material. I get you want metal for shiny bike tanks but they could line it cheap.
Hellow sir i really need help my motor cycle does not turn over my fuel pump and injector works sparkplug works to but when i did the trick were i spay a starting fluid in it id doesn’t even want to start anything will help please
So I flushed my tank with white vinegar while the fuel pump was still installed. Is my whole fuel pump assembly bad now? Or can I just replace the pump itself?
My bike has also been sitting for two years without being started. I took the fuel pump out and it was incredibly rusted. Thank you. I will try replacing just the pump itself.
Yeah the rust is definitely bad for the pump, that's what we used the toilet bowl cleaner for in the tank, basically just to clear the rust so we wouldn't ruin another pump
Sadly I'm not so sure :( We had a pretty rusted tank, which is what I assume killed our other pump, but cleaning the tank, cleaning our injector, and replacing the pump was all it took for us
Hey guys, my CBR300R won’t start and it’s just making this rapid fire buzzing sound when you push the start button. It lights up and primes, and it’ll start when push started but won’t run for long before dying. Any ideas?
@@JuanCarlos-wc4bs Yeah I took it to the shop and they fixed it up. its a 300$ part in Canada. They said, now I forget the exact name of the part but, it is the main electrical component of the bike. i think its the rectifier
Yes you can. I had throttle issues after 6000 rpm after 1 year of not using my bike (vstrom 650) and i found out that the tank was rusted inside. I took the tank off and i found out that the fuel pump was full of mud and the interior filter was blocked. I derusted the tank with electrolysis and i dissasempled the pump in pieces and cleaned everything changed the outter filter and cleaned high pressure filter with carb sprey and blowed air. The bike runs better than new after that and the pump is in excellent condition after 2 years now.
@@VeryGoodGarage Le explico con más detalle; el arranque normal y muy bien, pero al dar marcha a las 3 mil - 6 mil RPM pega tirones como si se tratase de falta de combustible. I do not know how to remove the fuel line from gas tank. I am having its picture but I do not know how to send it to you. Could you give me our email address? thanks.
Please, that music in the background is immensely distracting. I know it's very very low volume but it still sounds like someone's talking over you at the beginning of the video. I really like the first 45 seconds how you've explained the starting fluid and how that's narrowed down your diagnoses, it looks like it will be fantastic information and presented well - but I can't with that background abomination.
Thank you for the feedback! You're not the first to mention how distracting it is. Pretty sure it's not the volume but the type of music, but we're definitely trying to improve on that with our newer videos, we experimented with nothing playing but it's almost *too* dead in a way that's also distracting, but we'll see, you love and you learn

Oh man thank you so much! And that's great news! Hopefully it stays running with the new pump.
This is truly excellent-content, delivery, camera angles, lighting. Just a great job.
I was just thinking the same thing, it wasn't boring with a bunch of talking, and a really nice step by step. Good stuff man.
Straight to the point, with detailed instructions and explanations. Wish more videos were like this.

Thats why you should use fuel additives, they coat the inside of the tank and prevent rust,,,,, sta-bil is good, about 1oz. per gas station visit.😮

Hey brother very nice video. I have a question what size and type of socket did you use to remove the 2 blue injector screws? Thank you so much.
Looks like 8mm to me or maybe 10mm. One of the two. Pretty much everything on these honda bikes are either 8, 10, or 12mm.

I won't clean the injectors that way, cause you could damage the inside of the injector.
I’m guessing all this is the same for cb300f

I suppose that really depends on what you want to do

Check if it has a recall on the fuel level sensor. It can short circuit the pump and cause engine to stall

Can we clean the pump?
