as max has said he only agreed because there were no more events that matched an F1 weekend this season. And RedBull is in a difficult situation where by many regards max is there mostly for his own enjoyment
the guy behind was from 2nd Redline team and probably they all knew he's going to pit earlier, maybe that's why, as they were not really fighting for the positions. Staying in a draft he was also saving fuel and tyres so he was actually gaining more than fighting each other and loosing to others.
He's bumpdrafting Max and saving fuel by using the slipstream to be able to coast before the braking zone without losing too much time. It's faster for both cars to do this.
45:00 just one of many things where i dont believe in good driving only. Watch/Hear the sound of the engine when the normal car would use TC. Instead he just turns off the engine when loosing traction automaticly. The Topsplit is just a bunch of glitchers. Max is a great driver, but it is as it is. he would drive over the grass also when it brings advantage. And thats why i dont believe in any good simracer anymore. shame on them.
At the end of the day it's a video game. What I don't like is the inside knowledge and gatekeeping these tricks create. If everyone knows, that's not so much of a big deal.
I'm quite sure this is purely the replay sound glitching a little. When you spectate someone other than yourself, the replay is not entirely accurate of what the driver is doing at that moment. There might still be tricks but the replay of my teammates also sounded weird when spectating and we definitely did not use any tricks.

Im not even surprised if Max later on decide to retire from f1 and pursue new career path onto WEC
I mean he probably will, he loves it to much and it's a thing most F1 drivers do after F1.

he didn't came back close after last pit stop, he had to make one more stop for fuel, even if he did an overtake, he won't finish p1 anyway

not to forget about the ones who exploit the steering mapping to make their wheel turn quicker than what the actual driver is turning the wheel
